Ok, so I've been going through some suit combinations and I have a follow-up question I'm hoping someone can help me with. Say we have the standard combination AQTxx xxxx for 5 tricks. Now I know the best line is small to Q then cash Ace, hoping for Kx onside or stiff jack offside. But say RHO has shown 12 outside cards, then it must be right to finesse the ten. So my question is: Presumably then there is some dividing line here when it is better odds to play the double finesse? How about a 3-level or 2-level opening by righty? Is there a good general rule here or is it all gut instinct?

This reminds me of an EBU Spring Fours deal when someone went out to the toilet past a group of players discussing the hands, and came back to bid something like that. I can't remember the ins and outs of what happened, but I think the director wasn't called about it.

Oh goodness no, it isn't a patch on either of those films! I was just meaning I felt there were similarities in the plot and style. I haven't seen many films this year, but Inception beats the ones I have seen (for instance I thought Robin Hood was shockingly bad).

I thought inception was the best movie of the year so far. Kind of a cross between The Matrix and The Sting (two of my favourite movies).

In my copy of Watson's play of the hand there is a footnote on page 18: `Writers on bridge have used the "finesse" very carelessly. "To finesse a card" is to play that card; thus, in the example just given [AQ opposite 32], the Queen is finessed. The outstanding King is the card finessed "against", or the card the player hopes to capture by his finessing manoeuvre. Thus you finesse against a missing honor, but you finesse the card you yourself play, the card finessed being so played that it has a chance of winning against the higher card.' Further to this in the flash client you can go to the options (bottom left where the deal is displayed on the right section of the screen) when a board is displayed, and you can select export deal. Then got to "save deal as", and it will save it to a virtual folder on the server. You have to do this for every hand in turn, but while partner tanks you'll have time. Ant.

Many thanks for the person categories feature, it's been a request for a while and great to see it implemented. On the "sort by category" option, it would be good to be able to have more than one category open at a time, although I can see how multiple scroll bars may be an issue when there is more than a couple of categories open.

+1 for Gib/Gib Might be useful to make the bracket work too.

Also, I'm not sure if this is in the Conditions of Contest, but I'd be happy to `host' a pair's bidding table after I have bid the hands myself.

I like the bracket idea, but I think we can operate an honor system in terms of the kibitzing. I think it will be tough to regulate, so seems sensible to allow notes. If they're all tricky hands then 10-12 is plenty. If they're a randomly dealt set (but duplicated), then 16 seems the minimum to get a good sample of a pair's ability on tough hands.
