  1. pretty sure the rabbit will score 3 trumps tricks at the end and the ace of H , rabbit got 2 more trump in hand and 1 more in dummy and hog cant really play other than a black colour thougth he is doing some magical stuff sometimes... syl PS : solution given by winston is correct , havent got time to read one of flame ...
  2. i didnt have time to see if someone find the good solution but let's have fun in my answer  if u notice something u already read ... it's pure coincidence ... of course (thanks Victor Mollo for making me so happy reading u ...) the robber was completely unfair as the hideous hog was playing with papa the greek , against the rabbit and karapet the armenian ... still there was some kibbitz thougth u coudnt expect to see a close robber ... and the beginning was that so , karapet got squeeze 2 times in a row and led a wrong ace against a slam . hopefully the rabbit find ways to play 2 partial in 2S and 2H was cold for game but he still was happy to do his contract just made so the robber was closer after all . after a couple of more deals here come this hand the rabbit was holding 4 9542 A97654 A6 the auction bring the table to a 5D contract the more karapet was bidding his hand the more he was depressed knowing the rabbit hardly find ways to 11 tricks in any case the lead by the hog was Q of S and the dummy comes as show AK9 A103 KJ K8432 the rabbit after having some look at the dummy suddenly realize he didnt know where he put the key of his house and was really thinking about it while he was calling A and then K of S , he had nothing to throw but still .. on his K of S he throw the 6 of C when suddenly some Kibbitz react ... the rabbit looks at what he played and he sees the Ace of C instead of the 6 ... the hog that we didnt hear for now quite some time (it was unusual... ) was surprisingly kind to the rabbit giving him permission to took back his card "dear friend i would never take advantages of something like that pls do what u want" , on the other side , papa of course was completely unhappy , he knew the rules and knew the card is played , everyone quite agree on that and the rabbit thougth he wasnt a good player would certainly not accept that offer as he also know the rules . after that the play should continue and the the rabbit decided he should try to ruff as many things as possible so at trick 3 he decided to ruff a S go back in hand with the K of C (thougth the rabbit was not genious he was quite happy enough to note he hopefully dont discard the 6 of C at that point) , ruff a C (as papa first hesitate on what to do and decide to play small H) go back in dummy again with a D to the K when he notice the Q, ruff another C (papa took some time again to throw a H) and play a H , at that time someone come to him with the key of his house he thougth he lost a while ago he was so relieved and was kinda forgeting the play so call a small H , papa playing low immediately . "are u sure u're playing low my DEAR friend rabbit u already pay enough with ur previous mistake , maybe it's enough ..." hog said . but the rabbit was just too much happy the key was back and didnt mind much the play , while papa was looking at the hog with an angry face , in any case it was played the rules said...in hand now whatever black card the hog migth play now , the rabbit already got 7 tricks ,and the ace of H and 3 more trumps will just work enough to reach 11 ... regards syl PS : english not good enough to have more fun , hope it's readable thougth , i repeat , it's a nice hand , i dotn think throwing the Ace of C was an obligation thougth u can find other way i believe
  3. "I'll keep working on it. I DO know that pitching the A♣ on the A♠ is right though" i dotn think it's an obligation but play is much more fun if u do that i agree  nice hand thougth regards syl
  4. hello ok let say a fictional situation (but that we have known no doubt ) u are doing a KO match 32 deals and after crazy 16 deals unlucky and also bad played u're 50IMP behind . u dont want to give up of course but u and ur p after a discussion has decided to play the last 16 deals putting a LOT of pressure , i mean dont change the system doing more psyche , overcall with very weak hand etc... the question is nto to say if that way of acting is good or not , i'm pretty sure i would have a lot writing back " well dont change anything just try to do ur best and luck migth be back simply" u're rigth of course saying that but anyway it's ur decision u have taken with the team and partner to do those 16 last deals this way with psyche and so. The question is simple , do u have to say about it to ur opp at ur table ? to the whole team u're playing against ? let say now u're playing in MP and at the middle of the tourney u are doing very bad and again u decide with partner to change radically ur way of play (again pls i know it's not the best way to do it's fictional , it's just the decision of ur team) and use more psyche etc. is it accepted to do that in MP? (considering u know u migth have some 0 but some 100 to some other and that can change radically the result at the end ) do u have to tell the director of the tourney ? the team u will meet ? regards syl
  5. a lot has been said on that topic already I have been impressed by Italy for a lot of reason but one particularly is there confidence , it so happen they begin the match with some bad deals (not often thougth yes but that happened ! ) but it likes it was nothing and then simply continue the same way and won those match . we also didnt speak about that event with a complete round robin , what do u think of that? i mean compare to a final in KO (semi and final) for exemple , or a swiss event etc... regards syl
  6. it's penalty for me no doubt (assuming it's not weak NT) , i pass syl
  7. ok so first sorry for having put that comment on that problem , i just want to repeat what i have said, i just didnt thougth it would count on the analyses , my question was of course about "what u think is the best lead" . anyway here come the 4 hands [hv=n=sqj10h9742d10732c104&w=sak9765h65dackq98&e=s2hakq8dkj9864ca6&s=s843hj103dq5cj7532]399|300|[/hv] at the table i didnt find the killing S lead (not sure it's findable) and lead the "logical" (for me) J of H hopefully declarer didnt find the way to make that contract . as i said the auction is not what i should say a "perfect one" but this is what i had at the table for help regards syl
  8. well , luis , my question on this lead it's absolutely not "what would u lead to beat a squeeze" but definitely "what is the lead u would have done" of course . if i wasnt clear about that sorry of course . syl
  9. here we are IMP they are vulnerable u're nto (not sure it's important here thougth u hold that nice hand 843 J103 Q5 J7532 and the auction ( RHO dealer) of ur opps are not going to be contested  (it's in BBO new partnership so when i will give the hand later that can explain "things" ) 1D 1S 2H 3S 4NT 5H 5NT 6H 7NT let's go guys just to help u , one lead only is able to break a squeeze syl
  10. still laughing and i cant stop ;) excellent really  regards syl
  11. i just go back , not sure why my copy and paste didnt work , very strange , anyway , here he is back , hope this time it's ok : http://www.abf.com.au/events/not/2004/html/docs/contsum.htm regards syl
  12. a hand i will probably go down in theory , ok so if west is 5 1 3 4 or 5 1 4 3 i will not win . so i think i should find a position and chosoe between something like 6 1 4 2 or 6 1 3 3 it would be fun to loose if east is 10x in D by giving him his 10 od !D :) so i think i will play for an hand like Kxxxxx x Kxx Jxx . i have a doubt that west will not bid before with 6142 distribution and the switch of small C give me the impression he's not doubleton regards syl
  13. ok i let u go there , bulletins number 6 page 5 (article on spousal bridge). if then after all that u want to play bridge with ur lover one just know that u should be carefull :()) enjoy reading it eheh. regards syl
  14. i admit i'm astonished how this new format is really using now by a lot of director . and i have a lot of director asking me "how can i do that" . i can tell something new is fun to use :) regards syl
  15. so i guess i really have long way to go to become expert i never ever thougth of that bid 1 second . personally i'd pass this hand is nto for us IMO regards syl
  16. mmhh yes, well i play that 3nt (1NT 3C 3D 3NT )personally as shortness in C and a slam try yes . but obviosuly that person bid 3C and 3Nt without that idea of slam try!! i really think that u have 2 decisions with that hand , transfert in D (whatever u play it) to play 3D. or 3NT rigth away , well let's add a third options if u want (if that's one ??) pass 1nt . i dont like 2NT that kind of hand u will do 6 or 10 tricks but very rarely 8 IMO regards syl
  17. 1) very astonishing to see so many pass this some with no hesitation as all ! i'm a 2h bidder . 2) 1D what else? (assuming i dont play any strong system ) not even sure a strong club will help if hand return to me at 4S thougth 3) 4S strong hand in term of point , but a shape i really dont like regards syl
  18. hello all and thanks for ur answer so here we have the 4 hands. K1098 KJ7 A86 Q76 Q65 A2 AQ108 642 KJ Q109753 A432 J5 J743 953 42 K1098 as u can see H and "small" S will not work well and the declarer will be able to do 9 tricks . all the other lead (yes also diamond ) and of course the K of S lead :) . will kill this contract as long as the defnese stay with some concentration... regards syl
  19. i accept ALL undos whatever and dont ask for ; but we already discuss about that many time and it's just own decision by everyone . u dont have any obligation to accept undo at all . u dont even need any reason for refusing one regards syl
  20. IMP auction uncontested 1NT 3C(*) 3D 3Nt all pass 3C was transfert to Diamond, 3NT not alerted and natural (nto sure why u dont bid 3NT directly but that is not our problem :) eheh ) ur lead with K1098 KJ7 A86 Q76 regards syl
  21. my choice would go on 3H . it's very dangrous yes . and i guess the bid will depend on the SOTM (state of the match) but i think that partner MAY be in trouble to bid again . regards syl
  22. i guess after all wasnt that simple eheh ;) . it's a deal played in abalucy tourney , i went to myhands to see a little and it was quiet an astonishment for me to see that 2 out of all table (14 i think ) has decided to pass . I'm one passer of course . i should add that if it was in another tourney in BBO or playing in main room i would double this hand to stay in the field but i thougth in abalucy i would be protected by that field by passing this hand . anyway now u change position and u got : Q92 64 AQ1076 954 and the auction goes P P 1H P P do u balance ? regards syl
  23. not for me ... AJ104 Q103 K53 KJ8 RHO open after 2 pass 1H , u're unfavourable , IMP . with what i have seen in the traveller after the tourney is over i will have a lot of answer telling me "why u ask that too obvious" . regards syl
  24. guess it is !!! (as many lead after all ) Q of H will give the contract ? ok , be it , it's my lead regards syl
  25. no mark but by order Pass 4S double (the only one i give mark and it's a 0 , oh well ok 0.5) in theory if i have that i'll not be able to pass immediately and i'll bid and say "sorry p" at the end regards syl
