  1. im thinking of venturing into acbl land again and im wondering what is legal. can i play polish club?? multi?? anyone up on this ? :)
  2. [hv=s=saj109xhaj10xxxdxcx]133|100|[/hv] this hand was posted on another forum and the bidder bid 2d over 1d as michaels. prob everyone know that michaels is better for 6-12 and 16 and up maybe, but in kibbing i see it used all the time by great players. what do you think???? :)
  3. [hv=n=sjxxhaqxxxdckqjxx&s=saxhkj109xdjxxca10x]133|200|[/hv] i actually held the north hand and would have liked to hear 3c after 2c. in the old days we had a box on the convention card that you checked that said 2/1 response forcing to game unless suit rebid(something some still play). we did not play forcing 1nt. but 90 % of bridge is judgment and hand evaluation. so it was a workable system(and it still works). i actually took 2n to show extras but as i said first time to play with this part. i consider 3h absolutely forcing in this seq. partner bid the 5s, i bid 5n, and he bid 6h. makes 7 of course but he could not see that from his hand.
  4. [[hv=d=s&v=n&s=saxhkj109xdjxxcaxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] its the last hand of a team match. you are trailing by about the diff between game and slam(or the diff between small slam and grand). in first position you open 1h. bidding south west north east 1H P 2C p 2N p 3H p 4H p 5D p ? playing sayc with a first time partner. rate your bids <_< what do you think your prime responsibility here is to your partner? what is he looking for?
  5. :D i think 4s is clear also. your partner is going to think about whether opps can make 4h, so he is not going to balance with a bad hand. its not mps. this hand is interesting also in that you almost have to bid 4 spades and not the clubs. ie 4c is not forcing , 5c could miss the spade fit.
  6. [hv=d=n&v=n&w=sa10xxhxdajxxxcaxx&e=sqjxxhxdxxckqjxxx]266|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] bidding north east south west 3 h pass pass double pass ???? what bids do you like and rank them :)
  7. ;) thanx all for the replies. definitely gives me food for thought. this was the second time i had played with this partner. i think in a pickup game the way many of us play in bbo, preference should be given to showing the 3 card support. i dont mind his 1nt bid, and even thought the 2h bid is helpful, 2s is more helpful. in a regular partnership, this can be discussed. anyhow, i thank you all for your replies. :P
  8. [hv=n=sa9xhak10xd10xxxckx&s=skqxxxhqxxdxcq109x]133|200|BIDDING NORTH WEST SOUTH EAST 1D P 1S P 1N P 2C P 2H P P P[/hv] PARTNER SAYS I SHOULD BID 2NT ON THE SOUTH HAND AND THEN HE WILL SHOW THE SPADE SUPPORT. I THOUGHT HE HAD A WEAK HAND WITH 5D, 4H AND AT MOST A DOUBLE SPADE. FINAL SCORE WAS OK. I THINK IT WAS JUST LUCKY THAT 4S MAKES CAUSE HIS HEARTS WERE WHAT HIS DIAMONDS COULD HAVE BEEN. WHAT DO YOU THINK????  CHECKBACK WAS NOT DISCUSSED. SHOULD I CONSIDERTHIS A STANDARD PART OF 2/1?
  9. :P when i have a screwup because i misinterpreted a bid pard made, i say after the hand. " sorry partner, i thought your bid meant this or that. my fault." if the screwup is because pard is not so good, i say nothing. sometimes this is esp hard when pard is not so good and places the blame on you instead. then i just mark them as enemy and try to never play with them again. :D
  10. ok opening lead was a heart. doesnt really matter. declarer finessed against q of spades& play stopped.ops implied cheating and refused to play on. my question was not clear i see. 6 smakes on standard play if either the q of spades falls r the diamond jack falls. but 7 needs both to happen. knowing that is a second reason to finesse the heart. but maybe it is just me that thinks that way. lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll thanx for opinions :) just for your imfo spades were 3/1 and diamonds 4/2 not really unexpected
  11. you arrive in a bad 7s contract( partners fault of course) in a team match. you know that prob the opps at the other table are in 6h [hv=n=saj10xh10xdkq10xcaqx&s=sk98xxhajdaxxckxx]133|200|[/hv]
  12. [hv=n=sxxhkqxdak10xxxcax&s=sak10xxxhdcq1098xxx]133|200|in a team match white vs white RHO opens 1h, you bid 1s, lho bids 4h. part x, rho xx, i bid 6c.[/hv] p p p in the play lho leads the j of spades. i led a club to the ace and rho drops the king.
