  1. Thanks, the result is really incredible! If there was about 4th place instead of the 1st, it would be a miracle for me and a tragedy for you. This way, it was only a symbolic storm in a glass of water... I'd actually prefer a 16 IMPs loss (to 16 IMPs win), but to somehow get back those 32 IMPs later :D. Winning a league phase and possibly finish at fourth place is far from optimal in my book...

  3. They WILL break up clubs. I mean, West will break up clubs; lets say he has ♠Kx ♥Jxx ♦Jxxx ♣Jxx. On your first five trumps, West will throw 3 hearts and 2 clubs; East will throw 1 heart and 4 spades. You can throw 2 hearts, 2 clubs and 1 spade. Now you play penultimate trump, West discards his last club. What do you discard? Bottom line: You have a chance for squeeze if West has 5-5 in minors, or if you (and your partner combined) have higher cards (e.g. both minor jacks). Sadly (for NS), but K♠ finesse seems to be the best chance...
  4. Even in SAYC? I didn't know that. Somehow assumed that SAYC is very similar to what I play... EDIT: I should ask, but forgot... So the auction: 1♥-1♠-3♥ - is also GF?
  5. I agree that 1♠ is not non-natural, but I don't agree it's only an underbid. It unnecessary obscures the distribution. In most natural systems, 2♠ suggests a strong, unbalanced hand, with 5+ diamonds. In many systems, 1♠ could be ♠AKJ9, ♥72, ♦KQ85, ♣532. I really disagree with those ones who assume that 2♠ is GF. It is, if there is an explicit agreement. If not, it's only a forcing for a round. Even that isn't in 210% of cases...

  8. I see. To me, order of friends is irrelevant, if I see only those ones that are logged in. Various orderings are interesting only when I see them all (because the list is much longer). But users with huge number of friends have different needs and system is (rightfully) designed for them. I have no complains.
  9. I see. Well, that should be corrected, but it's not urgent at all... Thanks for all information.
  10. See my signature :D I'm a XX century beast, still using a PC...
  11. Very nice feature, I'd like to have it. Where I can set my list that way? Currently, the list is ordered alphabetically and looks this way (from the top): BLUE, grey, grey, BLUE, BLUE, BLUE, grey, ...
  12. Group B Povratnik 25 : 5 smerriman Boards I'm done with the first "half". Since the second phase is bigger and a full week is left - I'd consider playing a few matches more (providing it's allowed). Not before Friday, though. EDIT: The last sentence is probably more appropriate this way: NOT before Friday, though.
  13. Great suggestion! You should make a poll; this way the suggestion could have been much more convincing (for authorities). Personally, I'd go even a step further - I'd like to have the possibility to list only the tournaments I am eligible for... For example, a separate check box for that purpose, while everything else remains the same. Additional work for server, but well worth it!
  14. Thanks for information. Have to say that the solution is very subtle. The blue and blue-grey buttons look as mildly different nuances of the same colour and yet are distinctive enough. Greater similarity, as well as greater dissimilarity, would be less elegant. Whoever made the precise choice - has considerable talent.
  15. Or more precisely, about colours related to friends. Circles that resemble traffic lights could be red, yellow and green. I guess - red means they're offline; yellow means they are playing; green means they're online and idle. Is that all? Lets say - I follow two players and one of them also follows me, while the other doesn't. Shall I see them differently? Rectangular flat buttons could have several different colours. How many different colours exist and what each of the colours means?

  17. Of course. As long as we are talking about normal bridge, which was NOT the case with me. I assumed that we're talking about typical BBO tournaments... - there wasn't any conversation about systems and agreements - nobody looked at anybody's convention card - very frequently, there is no agreements at all (random partnerships for one session) and not really relevant for this very conversation, but should be kept in mind for possible further developments of discussion: - in huge percentage of cases, pairs (and even players in the pair) are from different jurisdictions and players generally aren't sure what they should alert But Jacoby transfers aren't suitable example for discussion about these principles, because EVERYBODY assumes them and NOBODY alerts them...
  18. To be freed from the obligation to alert. If they don't know, why shouldn't they alert? If I am bidding 2♥ with possible doubleton, opponents have right to know that, do they?
