Not really a good match, few clear goal situations. Think we lost it after the 1-0, before that, and after the 1-1 we managed the ball (we didn't have clear situations either). Good bench management by Klinsmann. Good luck ahead. For TheSaint: We protested a lot. And I don't know what happened at the end :-(

Late happy birthday!

Argentina - Brazil. Argentina out of hope, match today is open. Brazil, hope not, but don't see how. Would be a very nice final though (and a first).

No. Their first was definitely in the San Siro where they lost 1-0 to Cameroon. Stand corrected. That was the WC opening match, as last champion (which, BTW, I think it is much better choice to pen than host, like it is since this WC. And if last champ doesn't qualify (which would be very surprising to me) you can use runner-up, 3rd, 4th, etc)), and that one is usually played in one of the main stadiums. What dark arts? Hand of God? Conceded. 20 years ago Simeone playing up the referee to get Beckham sent off? Also conceded. 8 year ago Please don't forget Owen's dives, thanks :-) OTOH, our current coach, Pekerman, is an outstanding group manager. Since he started with the U20 (and U17), 11 or 12 years ago, his teams serveral times won the Fair Play thophy, for what that's worth. This may be a rare case considering our idiosincracy, but that's they way it is now.

Italy- S. Korea 2002: Thanks for the point. The Italians were robbed (and were just paid back against the Aussies, who probably don't have enough power to get a payback). Roland, not saying the advantage is unfair, is is just accepted practice. You are just getting it as you are host. Let's see what happens with S. Africa in 4 years, ok? Said all that just to show the group "lottery" is not a lottery at all, and that hosts get usually the better of it. Another example: Italy 1990 Argentina played all group matches in Napoli (3 different stadiums for group matches started in 1998, before that, 1, rarely 2, was the norm). At that point, Maradona had played there for 6 years, and was an absolute idol. So Argentina was the host team during the matches, spectators wise. Had Argentina won the group, would had continue in Napoli till quarterfinals. In semifinals, Italy was going to play in Napoli, and Argentina in some northern city, Milano or Torino, completely away team for the exact same reason. NO WAY this was not arranged that way! P.S. Argentina ended 3rd in group stage, qualified (6 groups, 4 best 3rds passed), went to play to the North instead, and came back to Napoli in SF against Italy. It is my candidate to worst runner-up in the history of the WC.

That too, BOTH Korea and Japan group heads in 2002. Well, you got an easy group, and guaranteed to not meet Brazil before the finals, provided both win the group. Our group was much harder (on paper, turned out not to be), including Pele taking the balls in the lottery(!). If you think I'm paranoid, maybe, but it doesn't mean they are not after you :-)

Open one, I think. Hope you're wrong. And you're at home already. (continuing for older post): I AM from Argentina. BUT Host team always got the upper hand, more before the TV brought BIG $$$ (see Sweden 2nd in 1958, Chile 3rd in 1962, Eng-Arg german ref and Ger-Uru english ref in 1966 for examples, Arg-Per after Bra-Pol in 1978 for examples), but still going on (Korea in 2002).

(talking about the host team) Luck has nothing to do with this.

Arend: :) It has potential, and in the match you didn't see showed it. Rival was weak too, that helped. Some others have potential too, but didn't show so far. But no team has won a match before playing it. Saint: I'd prefer Zanetti to be in the squad.

11 from the top, but both East and West must find 4 discards. I think I would get 11 by ♥ to K and run the ♣s Guess he got 13, but I don't see how. Perhaps 12 is more realistic (or not). Seeing both hands, not touching ♥ makes lots of sense. Also, ♦A at trick 2 looks interesting.
-
Actually, offset=0 gives UTC times. So if you need local times, need to modify it. Offset is measured in seconds from UTC time, positive to the West, negative to the East.
-
1. Usually 1♥ with this shape, but so strong 2♣ is certainly tempting 2. 4♦

Search for a file called bbover.ini. Edit it. Add a section named [sYSTEM], with two lines in it LINUX_WINE=Y BROWSER_TYPE=C You'll need to install the MozControl (look into this thread for a link, or install wine 0.9.14 from Wine web site, which automatically installs it.
-
Just checked. There is none.
-
try LINUX_WINE=Y instead of WINE=Y

try LINUX_WINE=Y instead of WINE=Y

Just installed 0.9.14, and it successfully installed the MozControl on its own (that is, it didn't creash as usually did before).
-
Browser support is needed for some parts of BBO (lobby news, buy BBO$ and MB$, some other things). Installing the mozctlx.dll, you do NOT need IE at all. Needs BROWSER_TYPE=C. Else, BROWSER_TYPE=E might work (but some versions of Wine hang when the MozControl is not installed, trying to download and install it [tried this last on 0.9.9 I think]).

There is no way if by proxy you mean the more common meaning, Web Proxy. However, it can be done with a SOCKS proxy (but you'll need the network admins to set ip up for you).

The fact that the US supported Saddam against the perceived more dangerous Khomeini's Iran, and helped him become powerful enough, may be related to this blaming. Looks like a blowback, much like Osama described above in this thread.
