  1. How about a delay after each card is played. Not being able to see each card as it is played makes for a rather unpleasant experience.
  2. Programmed delays based on counting CPU cycles are always going to get shorter as computers run faster. Is it not possible to tie the delay to a real time clock instead?
  3. There are still a few of us who play bridge simply because we enjoy the game. That enough is a good reason to sub
  4. What do you mean by "the original play of the tourney" ?
  5. You make a very good point. I am lucky to have a partner that seldom will let a 1 bid die in 4th seat.
  6. Most of my partners (me too) would not go anywhere near overcalling vulnerable at the 2 level without a chunky 6 card suit. Move diamond K to heart suit and this 16 count is worth a overcall. As it stands, it is worth only a pass.
  7. I had that problem with Windows 10 a few versions ago. As new versions came out the error finally went away. My workaround was to edit the convention card using Microsoft Edge, which saved the card with no problem.
  8. http://web2.acbl.org/documentLibrary/play/AlertProcedures.pdf Partnerships do not need to Alert their Stayman bids in order to differentiate between those that promise a four-card major and those that don’t. Opponents may assume that an immediate bid of clubs over a natural notrump opening is conventional, asking opener to bid a four-card major, with no guarantee that responder has a four-card major suit. However, when it becomes evident that the Stayman bidder either does not have or tends not to have a four-card major, an Alert is required at that time.
  9. QJxx,QJx,QJx,QJx might be a reasonable 12 point pass in any seat.
  10. Open 1c, end up in 3nt down 1. Go on to next hand. Normal result. Any pair that did not reach 3nt and got an undeserved top needs bidding lessons.
  11. If you play the Q and then claim, all cards are faced and you are not allowed to take a finesse.
  12. I may be too conservative, but I will not bid a slam missing two key cards, even if I know they are one ace and the trump king. I don't think the possible reward is worth the risk.
  13. My experience shows that if you resize the window and then exit without logging off, the window will come up with your new dimensions the next time you login and the sections inside will be arranged to fit. When you move the interior windows around and then quit by logging off, those windows will be restored the next time you login. Apparently, Windows remembers the main window size and the app remembers what was inside. At least that is what happens on my computer using Windows 10 Pro.
  14. I appreciate your detailed answer. Thank you.
  15. Can you please explain what PCB, DCB, and QP stand for? I have never heard of these methods.
  16. When you look at the entry list for that open pairs and see over a dozen northern California heavyweights with over 12,000 masterpoints each, maybe 48.92% overall is not as dismal as you suggest. Most of us want to test our skills against the best, and that tournament had lots of them.
  17. I upgraded my iPad Mini2 to iOS 11. No problem. I run Wi-Fi only. Could it be an LTE problem? Pardon my ignorance, but I don't have any LTE devices.
  18. Urban Dictionary: grammer Most commonly found in sentences that correct someone else's grammar. Oops.
  19. That was a very helpful tip. Thank you! Is it documented anywhere in the help system?
  20. Sometimes the third hand robot plays its card quickly and it then disappears before I get a chance to see it. This leaves me guessing as to what card was played. Is there a way to slow this down?
  21. I am new to BBO, having just switched from OKbridge. Once I have registered for a tournament and selected a partner, what happens next? Is there something else I have to do? Or do I just wait for the first hand to show up on my screen?
