  1. Any hope of progress on an earlier suggestion (sry cant remember from whom) that we could 'sort' lobby by (eg Flag) ? Regards, dogsbreath
  2. Agree with Mink,Luis and others ...pls NO ranking system,, esp not one based on 8,9 or 12-board MP tourneys! What value do points scored in a short free-for-all MP tourney have -v- playing IMPs pairs, which most play here, or team matches which are becoming more popular. Excellent tho the tourney software is, I have already heard rumours of 'cheating' ..so lets just treat tourneys as a fun extra on BBO. Regards, Dogsbreath.
  3. In UK tournament play (ie MP's) psyches must be reported to TD. The idea is that frequent psychers become known and are subject to score adjustment. Clearly this is not practical for on-line play. At my table y can bid what y like as long as no undisclosed p'ship agreement. However i think it unfair or undesirable to psyche against weaker opponents. Surely common sense can rule. Also i think must NOT alert a psyche :) Rgds Dogsbreath
  4. I experience problems when 'permission to join' table is set. It is only possible to accept or reject the new player and other actions are blocked in the meantime. When the table is closing (ie all/several players leaving after this deal) and (eg) dummy has left, the host may get a flood of requests from new players. Would it be possible to have a 'Table Closing' status so that new players do not try to join? ..Would avoid offending players attempting to join - there is no way to explain why a player is rejected at present and no time to do so by 'chat'. ..Also 'unfair' to bring new player to table as dummy , then others leave B) Regards, Dogsbreath
  5. this is an age-old problem not specific to Acol I think. I am reluctant to bid weak 4-card suits on weak hands as it may induce an unfavourable lead if we defend. I am also more inclined to bid NT in pref to 1Major at MP scoring.. at teams I prefer to bid 'straight' ..at MP's only our own score is on the line. I dont think either approach is 100% effective.. this should be a matter for partnership agreement.
  6. It is the responsibility of the person ASKING for the undo to consider wether or not a genuine misclick has occurred - rather than a hasty play or bid. On that basis I always accept undo's. Another factor to consider is that some of us suffer from bad comms and mouse response can be poor - resulting in occassional accidents. Let's keep it loose out there ;))
