However in preview mode I get blank spaces except for the diamond symbols I see the test line you have put up as three diamond symbols - different colours. Hi -Can anyone help please. When I read Forum posts the only suit symbol I can see is the Diamond symbol (♦) . I just get blanks for the other symbols. Yet as I write this post, I can see two versions of all the suit symbols above in the Code Buttons section.; when I hover the mouse over these, I see for example "Black Spade Suit Symbol (alt+)" - I get alt+ for every symbol. I am using IE6. Is there some setting I have to adjust on my browser? I'd be grateful for any help TIA Denis

This looks like a good response but I can only see the diamond suit symbol. Anyone know why? Because when I use the quote button for this reply I see HE and SP surrounded by square brackets, just the same as for diamonds but the suit symbols don't show..strange! Denis

These files are very recent. Wouldn't they be better placed in the Vugraph Theatre? DenisO

Hi Fred Iwish you well with this new initiative - I have one concern. You say don't worry about security of credit card details - however I don't see the little padlock that I associate with securely encrypted sites. The padlock gives me confidence to release credit card details. DenisO

I just went into the Bridge Library to check some results in the 2003 Bermuda Bowl Final.I find the complete archive has disappeared! What has happened please?

I watched some of the PROKOM Grand Prix Pairs event. Each session of 30 bds had 15 rounds with a new E/W pair for each round of two boards. Yet my Vugraph record (on hard disk) has not logged the changing E/Ws. Would it be possible to do this for future coverage of this type of event. It is hopefully a trivial problem as I if I can manually edit the files by adding the correct pn field after each round, the software should be able to manage that also. :) Denis

Thanks Ben - highlight, Copy and paste into Notepad works fine. Word and Wordpad lost the hand formatting even with Courier. Denis

Thanks for the replies - I'm beginning to see that Precision gives an extra option. In Acol which I'm used to, all these hands are automatic 1NT (wk) openers; however for the hands with four spades, a 1D opener could be better in finding a fit - i'll have to think a bit harder when I wear my Prec hat :D Denis

I missed the BBO live VuGraph of the Reisinger Final and can't find the offline VG anywhere. The possibility of a VG archive on BBO has been raised before but Fred didn't hold out much hope. He suggested that Yvan Calame's site would hold major events - which it has for some recent events but not the Reisinger. It seems a great pity that no real effort is being made to keep these wonderful records in view of all the hard work that goes into making them. At the moment it appears to me that if you miss a VG then you can only appeal to other BBO users in the hope that someone has stored the VG on their hard disk - not very satisfactory! Would it not be possible for BBO and the Event Organiser eg ACBL for ACBL events to agree to store the offline VG on the Official site? Denis

In Reese's book "Precision bidding & Precision Play" he recommends a 1D opener on : aSA74 HAQ83 DK962 CT4 b)SAK75 H62 DK84 CA862 c)K753 HJ4 DQ73 CAK62 His 1NT range is 13-15 As a precision beginner, I don't understand his logic. I would have thought all three hands above are good 1NT openers. Playing Acol with weak (12-14) NT, I'd have no hesitation in opening all three with 1NT. I'd be grateful for views from Precision players TIA Denis

Hi I will send you what I have from Segments 2,3 &4. Unfortunately the lin records are very incomplete. I'm not sure why this is so. The vugraph operators appeared to have some technical difficulties. Although I was logged in continuously (but not watching all the time), I repeatedly got logged off with the message that the vugraph had finished - when this was NOT so. I was under the impression from previous posts that if I am logged into a vugraph session when the last board is completed, that I should have a complete record of the session as a lin file on my hard drive. This has clearly not happened. Whether this is due to particular problems with yesterday's sessions or is a fault with 3.4.12 I can't say. rgds Denis
