sorry but I think it's really important to give the full auction on play problems. For instance we don't know which of the opps bid spades and to what level their partner supported (if at all), we don't know if partner bid anything, we don't know what calls we made between our 1c opening and final 3n...

I kind of blame both, North doesn't have an invitational bid, but south making a penalty x when 6 of his/her points are a likely waste of time and North has warned South that s/he has a min by bidding 4d over 3hx seems wrong.

I was playing with an old partner this morning just a fun game but proper scoring etc. about halfway round we came to a notorious LOL and her long suffering but equally as weak husband. She had none of it! well after we cashed our 7 top tricks and 4sx drifted 4 off we put it in the bridgemate and see that every other table the contract is 3N going DOWN 2 by EW. luckily her husband was there to console her on this "unlucky fluke hand. You made the right bid partner". Eagles

ah i see the problem now lol, partner is some 3622 so 2 to 1 odds AK clubs is tight? i guess we still have the option of spade finesse :)

in my experience, with a bbo random 4nt is pretty much always blackwood regardless of context.
