  1. It happened tonight a lot: declarer playing out a contract in the hope of some ridiculous defensive error when a claim of minus one or equals or whatever at trick one would be much more appropriate!! Ps forgive me for bad mood 45 percent session oh dear
  2. R/r mp Pd deals 4h pp 5c pp Axxx Xxxx Xxx Xx Thx Eagles
  3. For ages I thought wank was Chinese :)
  4. it's a bit unlucky that it makes imo, I mean you just have to swap a heart and a club in the EW hands and they're probably bidding the same way and it's going -2
  5. the problem with bidding 2h is that it should promise 5 and so partner will raise u on 3. Why play in an unnecessary mosain when bidding 2c would discover the potential H fit anyway??
  6. Well this happened a couple of weeks ago, apart from a minor difference, but just imagine the hypothetical situation: it's MP Board 1: the opponents bid uninterrupted to a cold 4H contract yet manage to go down on the most ridiculous line of play by declarer Board 2: this happens: http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/48968-most-hopeless-clueless-comment/page__view__findpost__p__825451 (see post on last page - the 3 diamond raise) Board 3: [hv=pc=n&s=sj43hj93dqj8ca953&w=sq9hkt8742dk652c2&n=sa87ha65da743ckj8&e=skt652hqdt9cqt764&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=2hp(slow)pd(slow)p2nppp]399|300[/hv] 2n made exactly for 25/30 mp - 3n-1 would've been 18/30 my question is, is there any point in calling director in this situation or is their actions in board one and two, when there was no UI, evidence that they are just dumb players who will by fluke get it right occasionally? thanks, Eagles
  7. ok so say you do bid 3c (I did) is there any sensible way to bid to slam? [hv=pc=n&s=s4hj3dkjt5ckjt765&n=s653hakqdaq97ca84&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=3cp]266|200[/hv] thanks, Eagles
  8. I'm so reluctant to pass. We've got a pretty reasonable hand and isn't it quite likely if we pass that it goes AP?
  9. MP we non vul they vul first seat x xx KJTx KJTxxx thx, Eagles
  10. Michael it seems that it's been clearly explained to you why cue bids are a good idea yet you are intent on arguing back!! If my only slam bidding tool available with an advanced pickup (and I see you rate as advanced on bbo) was blackwood and pray then i'd be pretty miffed but each to their own :)
  11. to be honest if I was playing online with a random adv I would assume Leb as well
  12. well for a starters I don't know how you are supposed to have sensible slam auctions when you can't use splinters/cue bids. But it all depends what level you're aiming for I guess Eagles
  13. I would just bid 5d sorry p if it's wrong :)
  14. well bidders win here: [hv=pc=n&s=sjhakq87d9875ct53&w=sak53hjt65dqj6cj6&n=st84h9432dakt3ck9&e=sq9762hd42caq8742&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=2hp4hppp]399|300[/hv] I have learnt a lot from this thanks, Eagles
  15. But kjtxxxxx kxx xx - Is also 4s bid and even 4 level is far from safe. Honestly think that if u open this kind of hand at 4 level u have to accept missing slam sometimes
  16. Kqjtxxxx kjx X X Seems like obv 4s bid I wonder how ur p would react if he held that and u bid slam????
  17. I would pass, we've already made a neg x and p couldnt bid over 2s. ok our D are nice but its only a 6 count
  18. [hv=pc=n&e=sq9762hd42caq8742&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=2h(weak)p4h]133|200[/hv] many thanks Eagles
