  1. I draw trumps, play 3 rounds of ♣ and play a small heart to the king, playing low if E puts down a low heart, W takes the trick and can't play a small heart back and neither the ace as well.... problem only if E hops up with the ♥T, .... P
  2. Opp-robots bid 1♠ - 2♠. I overcall (without checking the bubble) 3♠ which robot believes to mean 25+HCP forcing and jumps to 6NT... well, lovely idea, but this seems a strange understanding... how can I possibly have 25 points if both opps speak.... :) Peter
  3. Hmmm, right, OTOH we can still make 9 with the 14th card of N... :) Peter
  4. Assuming N has 6 ♥ only, I count 1♦,1♣, 6♥ tricks so I need one more either in spades or elsewhere. Danger in ♠ will be that E can play a club trough again. Maybe E doesn't also have the 9♣ and my 8 would require W to take the next ♣-trick, so I take the A and play ♠ for the one trick I am looking for. Expect E to win and playing the 8 next promotes the ♣-Q to a stopper.... Peter
  5. Right, was bullshit, I somehow imagined one spade more than I had ;) Peter
  6. Thats what I'd assume. Obviously the T♠ won't win the trick, that would be too easy. If E plays the J we do have a ♠-stopper left, if we play ♠ as suggested, W may win the K and still play ♦.... So what if say E plays the J and we duck with the T, maybe he continues ♠, we win with the Ace and play on clubs. IN the first hand we can also choose to bet on the 32% of ♥ being 3/3 plus the ♣-finesse instead of relying on E not switching to ♦.... Peter
  7. I would have considered 2♣. When partner raises ♦ not having any values there, he should have help elsewhere so slam should be laydown or not worse than a finesse. So I'd go for it... Peter
  8. So the questions is: 5♥. X. Pass. I will bid 4♥ first that my partner knows more about my hand. Since I am unlikely to make 5!h and they have excellent chances not to make 4♠ I'll try my best. Probably lead the ♣. P
  9. I agree to that one... ::) 1. 4NT - want to avoid going to 6 with no aces at all ... 2. 2S - seems to be more flexible to me 3. 2NT - game in NT may be there, and maybe keeps opps out of ♠ (hoping to survive though, maybe pass would be safer) 4. K♦, lets see the dummy first to identify partners major. 5. 4H - what else 6. play for the Q♠ with E, since W has already shown most of his points... 7. E has to have QJ♦ to make it, so play it that way 8. 2H - why can't I negative double my partner :) 9. 2D - we seem to have a misfit, so stay low 10. TH - on a good day, P has KJx and we make the first five tricks. 11. 4C - P is strong, show the support 12. pass - not sure we can make 3S, not sure opps can make 3C 13. 2D - lets here more from P to choose the right slam later Peter
  10. Now what if East plays the king, a ♦ and ruffs the third ♦ with his J... So I'd rather play a low ♠ to the Q, if this looses to the K (either with W or with E), it doesn't hurt since E can't overruff my Ace and I have my 10 tricks.... Peter
