How about not posting the same topic 5 times so people can't follow recent posts easily?

why lead 7♦ at trick 2? just giving partner a hard time
-
trick 1 play why doesn't GIB play Q it costs a trick here. Admittedly, with me bidding heats the spots might be the case where it doesn't cost but playing Q has to be at least as good as playing low

Question about KK Relay's Denial Cue Bidding
steve2005 replied to enigmisto's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
The memory load for KK relay is significantly lower than other symmetric relay systems. I picked up in 2 days. Others i was never able to remember. Highly recommend despite it being "non-optimal" -
Why do relay systems use the order of bidding high shortage, equal/middle shortage, low shortage? Is there an advantage over, low shortage, equal/middle shortage, high shortage?

with 3 spades and 11 pts the normal bid is 1N forcing to be followed up with 3♠ Doubling, GIB has decided 2♦ is going down more than making in spades It is a poor choice to make a penalty double without having shown prime support for partner
-
2♣ is a terrible bid with 4-3-3-3 It is clear to bid your only 4-card suit. You can game-force with 4-th suit forcing next round or jump to 3NT/4♥ bidding 2♣ is a distortion of your shape, you will never be able to find 6♣ on hands where it is right if you bid 2♣ on these type of hands

Bidding after 1M when it promises a 5-card major is so easy. Anyone Intermediate or above can easily learn system. If there a good system write-up using 4-card majors involving canape?
-
looks like the only way to beat contract then is to switch to T♦ hopefully North will overtake Q♦ with Ace this time and continue suit
-
What about my bidding, I am showing enough pts that I could have JH. Plus i've showed up with AK clubs so clearly East doesn't have 19-21 Is there no "does not compute" function? In fact as soon as dummy is revealed North knows east doesn't have their bid

i wasnt really paying attention so led 5th best if i had led 4th best would gib have woken up and realized we have hearts? My link

GIB robots do a disservice to the game
steve2005 replied to armant2k's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
Signalling is so crucial to good defence I accept that occasionally you will gift declarer As you learn, you can learn when to not signal or even lie. As it is, the ridiculousness of GIB leading a suit and switching or not leading it again when lead is regained because it can't tell if partner like it even though declarer is wide open is appalling! -
It just doesnt work in BBOfest and the free individuals limited to 40 peopleIt is a feature of BBO not a bug They know about it
-
also, if you alert a bid it is NOT visible to opponents
-
Guess what i discovered When you play with a regular partner your CC is still set to GIB 2/1 so not only can you not tell opponents you are playing weak NTs or your carding they cant even check your CC

alert question - not for online bridge
steve2005 replied to phoenixmj's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
If he forgot-he doesn't have to inform the opponent's before the lead. If it goes the other way things change. For example if he did have a Drury hand and bids 2C but opener did not alert, then before the opening lead responder must inform the opponent's there was a failure to alert 2C. -
this was from the NABC robot game so is the good robots stupid robot has 4 card hearts support and lets me play in clubs https://tinyurl.com/2okmt9fb

Tweaking Multi
steve2005 replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Having a strong option with a Multi is a big disadvantage according to Kit Woolsey. -
so I suppose it is just a coincidence your rating is 8+? or between 450 and 499 points

My link i know dd it doesnt matter but you think it could program it not to do something dumb like this

Why Does GIB Feel the Need to Raise to Game as a Passed Hand?
steve2005 replied to msheald's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
your lucky you are not doubled! look at all the aces out against you!! -
3♠ is just silly. GIB counting the K♣ as a King and a singleton as usual Even if the hand was worth 13 bidding 3♠ is just silly, is obvious the hands aren't fitting and there is no game unless doubler is very strong
