  1. Uday is there a way to narrow the field by say USA only and or North American countries? I wonder if countries like Turkey, Italy, Spain or such where historically it was a huge playing field in the early 1900's to present and or where Tv was not a great consideration, so local clubs were filled and or bridge in family homes was played with regularity? If that is still so and they are also in ACBL I think some of the figures are skewed? I know locally we have gone from 10 tables to 3 and half to 5 is all in the last 10 years. One reason is as stated age and death. I see very little new blood coming in! But I know of some that do play on line. Another consideration as in my case a baby boomer still working. I cannot make local clubs as some do in retirement. I feel there is still a large group of us still working up to 67 or more of age. I get more playing time in BBO than local. My estimation is on line is the winner and local is declining. Perhaps ACBL needs to go online and ask poll questions in private to people asking them if they play and or why not? Also find out what is the problem as for me it is geographic? I am 2 hours from Las Vegas or Henderson the only place closest to get points or play good players. Can you give figures from Sectionals, such as Lake Havasu City I bet has gone from 100 or more tables to maybe 20 or 25? Is it the timing with other sectionals or ask the people why they don't support it? Certainly more research than this is needed for a better comparison and evaluation. Thanks.
  2. Okay maybe I am not explaining it well enough. If I copy as you say the chat line it is one line? I want to grab multiple lines along with a picture of the hand set up in the pardnership bidding room? It is not a already completed hand! It is a perdealt teaching hand in graphics form. I would have to create a chat line under the picture and type the hand out by hand AKJ10spades and such and so on? Then one line at a time I would have to copy the chat and paste it in a word document somewhere? Ideally what would be best is the ability to cover over all chat that I choose in a grey area like a real word document and then copy it and paste it. This would take my chat but not the picture of the hand? I can review the chat log to accomplish what was said before in all the teaching. What I cannot do is reference it with the hand and order of it...... Thx though for copy one chat line I missed that in the feature
  3. I am wondering why using version 5.26 one cannot copy or paste chat? Also when i am in a pardnership bidding and my instructor displays a hand I cannot copy or screen print it, to ask my pardner how he views this? Only have chat log no way to view the hand? I understand copyright issues, but within the realm of bbo and forwarding examples to pard can it be allowed? Why can't i make a screen print of the example and have a forward to pard within bbo?
  4. When I signed up my pard, i went to his house with my laptop and signed in to his internet. We sat at the same table, opposite each other so we were unable to see each others screen. As he had questions before the game I showed him how to chat and toggle and such. It was very helpful being there playing together. I will admit a few times as I figured out a finesse or such that I would out loud mouth got you now succer, and pard would laugh. But it was already known from points or bidding, and was funny for us both. We are trying to be competitive to compete in sectionals and regionals where there is no cheating allowed, technically, so why would I want to start off by cheating? It helps afterwards for a few quick words like don't lead that way, or should have bid this way or that and is much quicker than typing it out? I think more should play together that way and get talking how to improve after the hand instead of wasting time typing it. Seeing positives on scores helps me to feel good, or to see bad score to see how to improve it. I have no need to cheat, for I only cheat myself. I agree if you suspect it, cannot hurt to report it. If enough do then all logs and private messsages can be reviewed for possible cheats. Thanks BBO for a great site, and all your hosts have been very helpful, especially the 2 times I reported abuse they said it was taken care of. I am happy, and think the best of all my opos unless shown different. If I kibitzed and saw the hand and joined I tell them. Period! Don't worry be happy!
