  1. Ok then, One day, I get one day of no adds? I still say change the policy. I will, as others should do, shift if off to the left side which does not interfere with play. But really, you are trying to have us love the web version (I do cause I have a mac, I love my mac). This is not helping. All the upgrades are nice but I still, .. discuss, with my team mates, I can't win them over. Chat room? No chat room. Well, I won't repeat their arguments just let you know they are out there and I support you all, just giving my .. Two cent, RedCat08
  2. Thanks diana_eva, Yes, no ads when I am playing in a pay tourney. I just thought that I had paid enough to have them disappear. I am sad I must pay more, or just move it to off the screen. But I like every one at BBO. So just giving my two cents. Thanks, RedCat08 (loving the BIL and thanking the BBO forum for such prompt replies)
  3. Thanks so much for the information. I do play in pay tournaments. In general, I find the ads very distracting during play, especially when they change. I don't suppose you'll clue me in on the new length of time? I went a long stretch without seeing ads. I wonder how many folks are noticing and trying to figure it out. Also, I think the ads initially disappeared when I made a $BBO purchase but then returned the next day. I hope one doesn't have to play in a pay tournament every day. Maybe it's just me but if it's not and many of us complain perhaps you can go back to the previous length of time ads are hidden. Thanks again, Sue RedCat08
  4. Hi, It used to be if you had BBO dollars then after you logged on, the ads on the left hand side of the web client would vanish. Recently it seemed you had to have more than $10 (earlier it seemed to just be more than $1 or $2). So yesterday when I dropped below 10 BBO dollars, I bought more to get rid of the ads! But they are still there. Can someone clarify this situation? Thanks, Sue RedCat08
  5. barmar, I am having the same sort of problem. I too just upgraded Safari on my Mac and am still running Snow Leopard. I only have an arrow for a short time and then the mouse cursor changes to either a vertical bar (sometimes purple, oddly enough) or it vanishes all together and the only way I know it is there is if it is my turn to play or bid and I finally get it over the correct card or box. I kept playing today but it was very nerve wracking. I am not good enough to troubleshoot what type of problem it is (Safari?, Flash? the combo?) so I came here to see if someone had the same difficulty and whether anybody out there could help. 6. Hi, WOW, is it just me? I even rebooted my machine (a mac) everything looks good (firefox) but my web client to BBO has my mouse clicks off vertically, that is, I have to click high to get what I want. So, to pass, I have to click above the pass. Bidding is an adventure but the cards play ok. Could be my machine but please let me know if anyone else is having problems. RedCat08
  7. Hi, Is something buggy about logging on invisible? I was on visible and someone I have tagged as friend logged on invisible and when I said hi she asked how I knew she was on. I got the the "just logged on" message but if I looked on the friends list she was not there and if I put her name in the "find member" she was offline. Later someone messaged to the club she was leaving, a moment later she came back on (I do that sometimes wondering what the table I just left is doing) and she was offline in the "find member". Seems as if there might be a bug that sends a message to the web users that you are on-line even if you logged on invisible. Hope that makes sense. Sue RedCat08
  8. Georgi, My team match had the barometer on. I have only ever set at team match with the web browser and I have never seen any mention of time. It remains a mystery but thanks for your thoughts. Sue RedCat08
  9. Thank you very much for your prompt replies. I will see if I can figure out the edit that you mention Fred as the tilda to add a cohost, I believe, only works on the downloaded PC software. I guess the time out will remain a mystery. I will post if it happens again and try to have a time frame. It looks as though we were about one and a half hours into an eight board team match. Sue RedCat08
  10. Hi, I was hosting a team match last night. Table one finished first and I was kibbing table two when the team match timed out. I use the web client. As far as I can tell there is no mention of timing issues anywhere in the set up. How can I keep this from happening? I've hosted many team matches and I've never had one time out. Has the web client been changed in some way? The other question is about having a co-host. Is it possible to have a co host using the web client? Some of the team match series (IAC for instance) require you to have the director of the series be a co host. If it is possible I would appreciate knowing how to have a co host. If not, I suggest the web client be changed to co host are allowed (guess I should post that in the suggestions to software discussion). Thanks, Sue RedCat08
  11. Hi, I am at a Tim Horton's with free WiFi. I can surf the net and be on this forum but I can't use the web browser version to get on BBO (just spins and then says connection lost). Does BBO block certain WiFi's? Thanks, Sue RedCat08
  12. No sorry, I mean I make a hand (for a particular reason) and then I want the next one to follow, and I put it in my folder labeled ( 1 H opener, responder says whatever ) but the order in which I make, maybe ten hands (thank you I love the click in click out to change it) makes no sense. So the question remains. If you save hands to a folder what criteria is the order in which they are saved? Thanks, Sue
  13. Here is a follow up question. In what order are the hands saved to a folder? It does not seem to be the order in which I add them to the folder nor does it seem to be alphabetical by what I have titled them. It is easiest to load them to the table in the order in which they are in the folder (by just selecting that folder as the deal source) but I can't get them in the folder in the order I want them. Hope this question makes sense. Any help is appreciated. Sue RedCat08
  14. Hi, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I am currently teaching the BIL Bridge 101 course. I am going to lecture on responses to partners opening to one of a major. I am in the web client trying to create hands. I have opened an invisible teaching table, figured out how to use the deal source to put restrictions on the hands (e.g. make N have a one heart opener). I've clicked on redeal until I've found a hand that I like and want to save. Do I now have to play the hand in order to save it? I do know how to export deal to a folder and find it later. What am I missing? Suggestions are welcome or point out where this has already been explained. Thanks in advance, Sue RedCat08
  15. Hi, First -- thanks to much for the fun "New quick guide". I now know how to join a tournament while I am still playing at a table. So, can you start a team match while seated at a table? If so, I'd appreciate someone letting me know how. If not, I'd like to suggest that as an option. In my early days of setting up team matches for beginners, I would have them assemble at a table so we could chat about what a team match was and I could answer questions. But then I would have to leave to set up the match. Now I have a collection of folks who like to play. Often I am at a table and we decide to grab another table or just four folks and start a match. It would be much nicer if I could whisk the table away without leaving to set it up. Thanks for the lovely browser interface and the continued improvements. Sue RedCat08
  16. I agree with js53, not just about number of logins but anyone can see what hands you've played and exactly what they were by going to: http://online.bridgebase.com/myhands/index.php and putting in a user name. I'd like to think that all of those hours practicing with the robots would be anonymous. The only hands you should be able to retrieve should be your own. Or, perhaps, there should be a "share information" feature which allows us to decide what we want to have shared -- hands, logins, ... Sue RedCat08
  17. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that both times were something having to do with the browser and inactivity but now I am thinking they might not be connected. The second time was actually in the middle of board one when I was dummy and the opps were slow and I know my partner did not call the director -- will remain a mystery. Perhaps a blip in my service. Thanks again for chiming in. Sue RedCat08
  18. Hi, Has anyone else experienced this problem? I was just on the web client playing in a tournament. The opps were extremely slow and I was dummy. I got disconnected (for inactivity?) -- very frustrating and has happened before, last time was in between rounds. My solution to that is to keep up chat with my partner when waiting for a round change. Today I was just trying to be patient and didn't want to chat to the table to stay active. Suggestions? Sue RedCat08
  19. So, sounds to me as if your spam filter is catching the automated replies, since they are, ..., automated! Next time, check your spam file. My two cents from a total newbie.
  20. I agree. At the very least, when one is dummy and a claim by the opps is rejected one ought to be able to see all the hands as is the case with the pc version. Sue RedCat08
  21. I second this request. I second the second -- It would be lovely if we had a choice of color coding and then could sort by the color coding.
  22. Hi, Can you clarify "sort by status". Sorting by status is not making sense. Is it grouping them by location only? I thought sort by "status" might be skill level -- or perhaps a checked criteria by the user. I am not sure what the sort criteria are. Also, just to chime in, I detest the emoticons actually displaying now -- wish I could turn that off. : ) Thanks, RedCat08
