  1. Hi: Meckwell does play support doubles to the four level. I also play them. but up to the three level(3H inclusive) and only with shape/values to hopefully protect partner. The exception at the two level is unsuitable hands. Those that have lost value Qx etc. due to being in the suit that the other pair has bid reduces your hand to minimum/subminimum. 4333 shapes need more than minimum values. I would guess about a 90/95% support double rate at the two level. We also make support doubles at the three level, however, the shape/values tend to show more than a minimum hand. Regards, Robert
  2. Hi Everyone So Zia will not be allowed to play in 'serious' events because of his bidding? Regards, Robert
  3. Hi all: Ultimate Club uses a 2C bid as a game forcing relay. "Power" by Ron Klinger also uses relays 2C=10-12 and 2D=13+ GF bids. Regards, Robert
  4. Hi: Two places to play 'or' a slam try if the highest suit is rebid after your choice. Regards, Robert
  5. Hi: Meckewell plays that a bid of 6 of a suit directly under the agreed major offers a choice of six suit vs 6NT. Not a common agreement in the BI section. Regards, Robert
  6. Hi: Edwin Kantar wrote the 'books' on RKC. He answers almost all questions on RKC. Regards, Robert
  7. Hi: I play transfer replies to weak two bids and partner is allowed :) to break the transfer. so 2S-3C* here Regards, Robert
  8. Hi: 2C. My inverted minor scheme normally gets us to the best contract. 1C-3NT with a partial heart stopper and a thin spade stopper looks a bit much. Regards, Robert
  9. Hi: I was a bit lost here. You did not mention your agreements. I assme Redwood and Last Train are missing from your agreements. You might like one or both of them for better slam bidding. Adding a club transfer and later shortage showing seems to also be a good idea. Regards, Robert
  10. Hi: Playing the XYZ convention(two way checkback) makes life a lot easier. If partner bids 2C, it starts an invitational auction. If partner bids 2D*, it is game forcing. Regards, Robert
  11. Hi: 4H. Partner is giving you a choice of contracts "since" you have a 3 card H raise. The 3H bid in this auction suggests 5, so you have an easy 4H bid now. Regards, Robert
  12. Hi: So #4 makes a Precision 1D opening that some play as 1+ or 0+ a HUM? I currently play it as 2+, but I have played it as either of the above meanings. Regards, Robert
  13. Hi: In the the section at top left of your convention card marked "Doubles." Regards, Robert
  14. Hi: Double suggests(promises) heart support "which you do not have." 2NT suggests 5-5+ minors "which you do have." Many players use shape showing bids either weak or strong, which you have. Bid 2NT and hope to sort it all out later. Regards, Robert
  15. Hi Double. Shows values, partner normally passes or bids with freak hands. Regards, Robert
