Allows you to choose between Return doing a new line or sending the message. The above reported "URLs converted to ♥♦♠♣" issue. Conversion stops at the first / or \ and restarts after the space space. Also C: D: etc will not be converted. So all URLs starting http:/ will be OK

(For now) You can turn off the substitution processing in the options. YOu may only need to turn off the single letter C D H S processing. OR Click the "Mail" button - this shows the normal chat box for one message which does (of course) not convert. Top of the 'to do' list is now 1) Make the converter detect URLs and not process them. The five buttons N S E W A are not for chat. They are for kibitizers to QUICKLY swap from kibbing one seat to kibbing another (or A = All). Yes - to chat to a person there is an extra step. Click on that persons name as normal and THEN click the - Grab - Button. This Grabs the name and shows it to you. I hope this helps

Ahh - I see now where you are coming from. To be honest I think your requirement is a bit specialised to be thinking of trying to meet it this early in an applications life cycle. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to ask, Dwingo.

Hi Dwingo That is an interesting question. I am sure you know that the answer is no, not currently. But let me turn this into a feature request. Please could we have an option to have two input boxes the top one being only one line high would send messages only the table and the re-sizeable below would send messages only to the Kibs. Would this be what you are after?

Chat Assistant is re-sizeable, 'always on top' and does not close or hide between other actions on BBO. This allows you to compose a message while also playing the cards. Chat Assistant will optionally also convert input like 6d into 6!D that will show on BBO chat as 6♦. I used the Java (there must be more Java in it than Flash, mustn't there?) client for the first week I was a member (about a month ago). It never occoured to me that the old windows software would be feature rich and the new software so feature poor. (Silly me) :) I had NO connection problems at all ever on the Java client. I find the windows software crashes almost every time (9 out ot 10) that I BACK out of a table. If the table is dead quiet and you have no "movie" window open then you just MIGHT BACK-out OK but otherwise, forget it. The win client is normally stable when at a table but I have had 2 "lockups" in the weeks I have been on the windows software. My connection is a 100% up time no probs cable.

I ran all the tests again and this time it worked. !!! for the BBO 1.3 adv ver(conrrection 233k not 185k) The only difference I can think of is that last night had a heavy load on the server and that today Mon 10:am GMT it is very light. I will repeat the tests again when the server is busy and if I can repeat the problem I will report back. Many thanks for your help on this. -- Roger

The FD conv card BBO Advanced 1.3 will not upload via "use" to the server. All the other conv cards will but this one appears to be just to big (183k). It is sent but not 'acked' on the chat area nor do its descriptions come into effect as they do with the others. I don't want to invest time in a FD card only to find that it gets too big to work. :( So a advice as to if this current situation is likely to change would be welcome.

Java Client - Broken for teaching The Java client does not work when "teachers" upload hands - Poor beggineers see no cards and get confused. It works if they use the windows client. (of course) And it works for everything else as far as I can see. If you are going to say this is well known then I respond it is not know to the begginers and new joiners like me and of course we should be warned. :) Oh and of course all the new MSN joiners will be using the JAVA client.
