  1. An article i read by Kokish suggests: 4C = some 1 suiter 4D = both majors 4H = H & D 4S = S & D I also play this over opponents wk. 2 bids.
  2. Does'nt that show H & C ..you said you play re-transfers
  3. Since when is 2!D michaels ????????????????????
  4. 1C - 1H - 2NT - 3C = D 3D = 5+H(Then 3S = 4S & 5+H) 3H = 4H & 4S 3S = C
  5. I play this as a 3 card limit raise of ♥ since 3♥ would be 5-7 pts w/3♥.
  6. Why 1♠..you are only worth 1 bid..2♥seems clear.
  7. If you play FLANNERY(I DO), this is a 3♠ rebid. Take away the ♥Q and you rebid 2♠. The upside of flannery is not so much the 2♦ opening, but the ability to raise with only 3♠ knowing partner has 5+♠ or 4 good ones.
  8. Try playbridge.com click on "4 hands" and "duplicate forms" :D hope you like it.
  9. 1S-2D(GF)- 2S-3D- 3S-4S- 4NT(RKCB FOR S) - 5H(2 NO Q)- 5NT(GS TRY) - 6C(CLUB K)- 7S
  10. Partner WOULDN'T throw a spade away on the 3rd heart IF HE STARTED WITH 5. Therefore the play of the hearts SHOULD BE suit preference for the minors. HIGH then LOW, FOLLOWED BY SPADE PITCH(=3S)SHOULD show D. LOW then HIGH, FOLLOWED BY SPADE PITCH(=3S)SHOULD show C. This can be reversed depending on partnership agreement.
  11. Why can't partner have 5 spades? Partners play of the heart suit should be present count in SPADES. HIGH then LOW (USING STANDARD COUNT) should indicate that he doesn't "LIKE" spades(started with 3), LOW then HIGHER = started with 5 spades.Assuming this agreement, you would assume only 3 spades and shift to the club king."SMITH ECHO" ???
  12. Why can't opener bid 3H to say "I like both of your suits of just diamonds"... 3S asks : 3NT = I LIKE D OTHER = "I LIKE BOTH" If you just like spades... bid 3S. If you don't like either...bid 3NT. ;)
  13. A "better" method called FCTS (FiveCardTransferStayman) was written up in the BRIDGE WORLD sometime in the 1980's .I have been using it ever since and it works great: 2NT - 3C - 3D=NO FIVE CARD MAJOR/NOT 4H/MAY HAVE 4S. (3H SHOWS 4/5 S AND ASKS SPADE LENGTH:3S=3 3NT=2 4S=4). (3S SHOWS 3S & 5H). 3H=4/5 H & NOT 4S (3S ASKS: 3NT=4H 4H=5H). 3S= 5S. 3NT=44 MAJORS. (THEN 4C & 4D ARE TEXAS TRANSFERS) 2NT - 3H(TRANSFER) - 3NT = 2S & 5H. 2NT - 3D(TRANSFER) - 3H - 3S=4S & 5H. 2NT - 3NT=SLAM INV.+ 55MAJORS. (THEREFORE 3C IS USED WITH 3S&5H/5S&4H/4S&4H/4S OR 4H... " 3D " " " 4S&5H... " 3H " " " 5S & 0-3 H. YOU WILL NEVER MISS A 5-3 FIT...HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL.
  14. "FIVE CARD TRANSFER STAYMAN" = 2NT - 3C - 3D = NO 5M & NOT 4H (A) THEN 3H ASKS S LENGHT:3S=3 3NT=2 4S=4. (B) 3S OVER 3D = 35 IN MAJORS. 3H = 4/5 H ... THEN: 3S ASKS : 3NT = 4H 4H= 5H . 3S = 5S . 3NT = 44 MAJORS. 2NT - 3H(TRANSFER) - 3NT = 25 IN MAJORS. THIS WAY YOU NEVER MISS A 5-3 MAJOR SUIT FIT. ;)
  15. Agree with Ken...3D = 55 MAJ. GAME + .... ALSO: ;) 2C - 2D - 2S = INVL. 55/54 2H - 2S - 3H = INVL. 64. 2D - 2H - 2S = INVL. 45/46. 2C - 2D - 3M = SMOLEN 4M & 5 OM (GAME + ). 2C - 2D - 4C = SLAM INV.+ 4S & 6H. 2C - 2D - 4D = SLAM INV. + 6S & 4H. 2C - 2D - 4M = 6M & 4OM TO PLAY.
  16. good hand for raptor 1nt.... 1S - 1NT (4H & 5+MINOR) - P - 2H :P
  17. Playing strong NT..... i would bid 3C. Playing weak NT(i do)....i would bid 2C . I don't play inverted by a passed hand in which case it's 2C then. :)
  18. Someone recently posted a system called "VERTIGO".... 2C= C + 5M 2D= D + 5M 2H= 6H 2S= 6S DBL.= H&S (OR) 4M + 5+m seems to work well in direct seat. I use this in passout seat: DBL= H&S OR C&D OR D 2C= C 2D= ONE MAJOR 2H= H&MINOR 2S=S&MINOR
