  1. Partner might interpret this as a stronger hand with 4-4. I'd still double though.
  2. Obvious to bid over 1♣, and for me 1♦ is much more attractive than 1♠. (At MP's 1♠ would have had a bid more appeal.) I even prefer double of 2♣ to balancing now. As it is I pass. Bidding a suit is quite dangerous, and a would fear partner would interpret a double as penalty. (He is short in clubs, and I Didn't double 2♣.) Edit: 1♠ would also have a bit more appeal. :)
  3. 4♠ Quite possibly the biggest wtp ever.
  4. Not forcing. Opener should be allowed to gamble 4♥ with playing strength, something like: ♠ x ♥ Kxxx ♦ AQJxxx ♣ xx A double by opener would not be penalty, but simply show that 4♥ were bid to made (typically (semi-)balanced and strong). Sometimes partner can bid 5♥ with the right values.
  5. Indeed. Even stumbling into seven is no big disaster. (At Imps.) Of course on the actual layout, it will present some problems. :)
  6. Double, then pass. Like to defend, +200 is not remote, especially if 3 ♣/♦ is on.
  7. Another approach, only played by one pair in DK as far as i know, is this: 1♦ -2♦ = Inverted minor or 5-5 in the majors, less than a gameforce. Goes for 1♣ - 2♣ too. Called "ToMax".
  8. A popular treatment here in DK, is to have 3♥ showing 5-5 and invitational values. I don't know how hot it is, but at least it describes the hand.
  9. On these EW-hands, 6♣ is still huge, only defeated by a 4-0 split in ♣, with 4 in North.
  10. For lack of having thought of anything better, I play it as "Gameforce - with no other good bid available." Can't remember having bid it.
  11. ♠♠♠♠♠♠♠ Not even close.

  13. In which case you should love comments like: LOL
  14. 3♠. When I have a good 6-card suit, and a bad 5-card suit, I don't ask partner to take preference. Actually, this is not a bad spot for incooperating partner with such a hand, but I believe that the extra space 3♠ takes away, makes up for that. I don't feel to strongly that 3♠ is better than 3♣.
  15. Hi Hamdi, my advice: Focus on the positive; A great chance to learn something. You are right, answers here can be quite rude. I can be that myself, and has also received some harsh words. Those are the breaks. Nobody in this forum gets paid for their efforts, so sometimes a short, possibly rude, comment is all you get. If you get ten alike to one post, there's a big chance that there is consensus about something. And people don't want to spend time and effort explaining what is obvious. But take comfort, that some of the players that ridicule you ARE strong. I know for certain that some has represented their countries (and still is) in Open Teams. So shape up, make good, well-prepared posts, and you will have a great chance to learn.
  16. Then why do you make a fitjump, when you don't have the hand for it?
  17. Sometimes it will get partner to focus on playing the good 4♠, instead of a hopeless 5♠ Can you please show me a hand for partner where 5♠ is "hopeless"? It's hard enough for me to even think of one that is any worse than making unless a suit breaks 5-1, or something like that. Okay, I was "a little" to fresh with that comment. But thrumphs are sometimes 5-1.

  19. In this context, what would a 4♠ bid show? Choice of games?
