  1. 4♥ There is a bonus for bidding and making game.
  2. concur on the latter. 4♥ would tilt me pretty bad though. Not really sure what about E's bidding is so attractive. [hv=w=saxxxhkqxdxcaqjtx&e=sqtxxhaj10xxdt9xcx]266|100|[/hv] LOL. Here's one: x KQxxxx x Axxxx. Since the example hands have nothing to do with the auction, I'll just list a hand where 4H is the right contract also. ???

  4. I wanna partner East and try Wests drugs.
  5. Assuming 3♥ showed spades: My silly double of 4♣ made this a forcing sequence. Now I have to guess, so I pass.
  6. I overcall automaticly, well aware that it is close.
  7. Even with such bait, I cannot bring myself to pass. :)
  8. - (p) 2♣ :) - (p) - 2♠ wtp?
  9. Whatever number of diamonds I feel comfortable with. (And no, I don't feel comfortable with 5+).
  10. At favourable nothing but 4♠ makes sense to me.
  11. A heart is rather automatic for me, but I am well aware that it might easily be wrong.
  12. Note to self: Remember it is pathetic to post notes to yourself on the internet.
  13. At least three aces out of five. Cuebids now start in 5♣.
  14. Yes, it did occur. And be nice to other people, even world-class players mis-compete or make defensive errors. (You can be rough with me, but the people I mention should be left alone.)
  15. I'd recommend in-line roller-skates. If that is not an option, then a bicycle.
  16. Sure. LHO: Probably the third best Danish female player, if you include Sabine Auken. RHO: Open teams player 20 years ago. Still obviously qualified for Senior Teams. Bidding, starting with North: 1♦ - (Pass) - 1♥ - (Pass) 2♥ - (X) - XX - (3♣) 3♥ - (Pass) - Pass - (Pass) Full deal: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=s972hkqj2daj1063c3&s=sj654ha9873d52ca7]133|200|Scoring: MP[/hv] The Play: The ♦ 7 led to the jack, queen. A heart comes back. A heart to the Ace reveals that RHO started with only one heart. (♥10 lurks.) A diamond is led towards dummy, LHO discarding the ♣Q Now a low spade from dummy, and the ♠10 from RHO
  17. Playing the jack wins when LHO has H8. (Which is of course a Grossvenor.)
  18. Playing MP's you are in a heart contract with all the communication and control you need. RHO has made a delayed take-out double of hearts. This is the spade suit: ♠ 972 vs ♠ J654 If you can develop the fourth spade into a trick, it will give you an overtrick. When you play a spade from dummy, the ♠10 pops out of RHO's hand. Your table presence tells you it is a well-prepared card. Cover?
  19. Double is Easy, but by no means safe.
  20. I don't like your plan, mainly because of who you are. Everybody will expect your bids to be somewhat sensible, so if you redouble or bid 6♣, they might smell the rat. The plan would be much better for a person with a questionable reputation (bidding wise). And I really don't think "mixed-strategy" arguments aplly here; it is highly unlikely your oponents in that tourney will even be aware of them
  21. 6♣. My plan is to set up hearts with a ruff (West can't ruff high), and finess East for his club-values. That should make 13 tricks. I am, however, always unlucky, so I underbid with 1 trick. I am going to have to guess on this hand anyway, so i might as well give the opponents a guess too, instead of making a feeble attempt to introduce hearts, which East might easily control, since he bid 2NT.
