:) MFA Quote Did you miss the point that the 4th placed pair DID check their own score (which was correct) but the third placed pair DIDN'T (and they had too many points due to the bridgemate mistake)? It could very hard for a pair to spot another pair's mistake. Nope I didn't miss it; the facts are still the same; If you don't or cannot be bothered to check your scores / frequencies when they are posted and inside the correction period as set out; Then you cannot cry when you do look after the time is up and find them wrong In the case of wrong Bridgemate Scores being entered that is down to the two pairs at the table to check correct entry Otherwise it is TOUGH you must abide by the rlues of contest :)
-
;) So frequencies are posted therefore No problem YOU stay and check that YOUR scores are correct ; that is what the set time period for checking is all about. If you dont check or cannot be bothered staying to check; then you get what you deserve surely. With Bridgemates you have 2 chances the first being when the score is entered and then passed to East for checking, which is when wrong Input SHOULD be found; If you press OK by mistake you have the TD who can then Change the score for you or cancel the Score so that it can be input correctly; Lastly you can Check the Frequencies To me it is a no brainer <_<
-
:) Do you not still post a copy of the final results / frequencies when you use Bridgemates; Pity over here in Blighty we have our very own checking system for wrong scores called 'JIM'

hand evaluation in reponse to strong 1C
shintaro replied to Flame's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
 surely if you are playing any system Precision, Romex, Acol, (Sick And Yellow Colour); You should just adhere to the system Otherwise why play a system After 1♣(forcing opening) Partner has said they will re-bid, thus I see no problem :) -
At the Local Club
shintaro replied to kenrexford's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
;) Perhaps you should not complain about those who can be bothered to Direct at their local club; at least they are willing to do it; If you don't agree then perhaps you should volunteer to do it instead. -
:) Dealing with the 4414 or any 4441 is relatively easy if you use your 1♦ opener to merely promise 11 - 15 NO 5 Card major Possibly a ♦ Void or a 11 - 12 NT That also works for us ;)
-
[D;) Hi Why not just drop the 2♦ opener and open 2♣ with either a 6 card Club suit or a good 5 card club suit Then play the 2!♦ 2!♥ 2!♠ as 3 weak 2;'s Works for us

:) Law 16 Unauthorised Information A Extraneous Information from Partner After a player makes available to his partner extraneous information that mat suggest a call or play, as by means of a remark, a question, a reply to a question, or by unmistakable hesitation, unwonted speed, special emphasis, tone, gesture, movement, mannerism or the like, the partner may not choose from among logical alternative actions one that could demonstrably have been suggested over another by the extraneous information. That is the Law as in force in the UK (and I assume WBF) Thus the Director is the one who decides whether offenders partner has his bid should he make one. :)

:) agree with blackshoe call in the pigs :P -
:P The recording of phsyces is merely to ascertain whether a particular partnership has developed an 'implicit' agreement ; the poor TD's do not know that joe bloggs has physced regularly unless they know him but the governing body will see an undesirable pattern emerge

:P The term 'World Class Expert'

:) And it is getting closer folks

What makes bridge partnerships break up?
shintaro replied to Finch's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
:) My last reason for splitting with my Bridge partner of years was not wanting to upset her when looking quizzical across the table for some off the planet bid or play; I NEVER would criticise my partner at the table unlike quite a lot I know who do; And she was much much better looking than ChrisUK is (but then even Sceptic is better looking than Chris) :D Now I shall go into hiding and put on my Tin Hat and Tin Knickers and wait for the fall-out  -
:o Surely the main issue in this case is "Did they need to arrest this politician in order to ask him questions"? The answer would seem to be No they did not I am merely waiting for the edict from Brown and his cronies that we will all have to be Microchipped so that they can monitor us 24/7 : :)
-
 trouble with the 'yes minister series' was its uncanny resemblence to truth
-
 Do you trust Brown or is it merely down to apathy Better still are the Lunatics running this assylum
-
 That is of course assuming opps have not bid a Major or used stayman as the original question does not give full auction
-
 interesting frances how many would automatically lead partners suit; When in effect Declarer has said he/she controls that suit I lead 3rd Highest major on this

;) illogical unless optional :)

where's jlall?
shintaro replied to whereagles's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
:P now nick you have got me worried; what does a half estonian woman look like a minatour, griffin, mermaid ?????? intrigued :) -
 Alledgedly the cost P2P is to be 29p per game Thus someone playing only once per week for say 48 weeks will pay 13.92. Twice a week 27.94. Now if you consider they pay 17.50 to be a member of EBU per year then on paper they will gain if they only pay the once. However If you take a club with only 50% membership then EBU will gain 27.94 per Table multiply by say 12 tables It is horendous; As Nick says Club will/are disaffiliating
