Few wks ago last round we have two star player as opps and my partner is Polish as usual very good. Both red, i hold 4 spades to jack, stiff heart, void in diamond and 8 clubs to kqj. My turn i opened 4 clubs, lho pass my pd 5c, now rho bid 5h obiously putting all the balance of points in his partner hand. I feel like dbl but my clubs and partner support i figured we might not get a club trick. so passed 5h. Now i know i have to some how get a diamond ruff, how do i tell partner, first thing i have to try to get to partner hand and may be partner will find a diamonds rtn. so i decided to lead q of club from kqj of clubs hoping partner put to 2 and 2. so my q of club lead, dummy with aqx of spades; 5 h to j10, axxx of diamonds stiff 9 c. only thing i am waiting now is if pd goint to win with ace of club and rho follows with club. pd own lookig at dummy had no problem returning k diamond, i ruff rtn spade; rho wins plays a trump pd wins ace of h, i just colud not resist played my k clubs, rho disgusted calimed all the tricks and down one.

Next: Automobile driving in busy highway in rush hour will be banned, instead all cities will adopt DROP and PICKUP of school bus system. Some might say it will be impossible for bus driver to provide that service, not at all upon getting into bus we will type in our postal code or swipe our buss pass. The computer will provide bus driver most effective and efficient way. There are many software in the market.

i am sure we all know everytime we use a conventation we give up a natural bid. for instace to adopt bergen's 1s 3s prem we have to incoporate JORDAN'S OR similar conventions. to give limit raise over opps dbl we must bid 2nt to limit raise, or cue bid over bid interferense. just a thought.

Here is a very funny incident about Bergen i find. I am playing in a tourney with a friend of mine the bidding goes 1s by my pd i bid 3c 6 to 9 and 4s, pd thinks for a while and passes. I am stuck with 3 2 club fit, its mp so 1 bottom is 1 bottom. After the hand over i asked pd you canot recognize BERGEN. He said on top of ur cc you marked jump shift wk, so 1s 3c is jump shift week. I like to win and also have fum I said ok and changed my cc right of way.

oh well let just tell my opinion STATUS QUO is not my way of justifying any thing. sure cigrattes and lung cancer are connected together. now most kid starts at their teen age smoking. they smoke till 60 65 years and may or maynot get cancer. S0 if it take someone to smoke for 60 years it could not be very dangerous. piece.

I think most of us know somebody or a family suffer from cancer. I see there are something missing from the scenerio, that is data gathering. If you talk to a cancer treatment personal they will tell you if you have a member of your family with cancer rest of the family members chance is very high to have cancer at later date. my first approach is based on all the members in the family share FOOD, so lets catalog every piece of food they consume from all the members as far as we can go, catalog them on a portable computer, enter the data as you interview, go to the next effected house and so on. The computer will print out match and mismatch items 2nd approch, cancer specialist always takes sample from a patitent, work backward to determine the chemical responsible and idetify the cure.

I obsered over the years a very popular convention BERGEN. there are statement like this u dont play Bergen u dont invite me. there are also very strong feeling of acceptance among bridge players. Now let me say what i found out. Another sit there were discussion how often Bergen shows up in a session, some of the site experts stated 5 times out of 24 hands. So i joined the group and stated I played last 2 tourney but no bergen bid and will follow it up with next 4 sessions. Result no bergan in 60 hands. now in BBO i played a TD/ partner, we played for 5 6 weeks BERGEN did not came. On 6th week pd bid 1s i bid 3d pass. Later pd saw my hand and commented sry all these time we played Bergen never came so i FORGOT.

For higher student sure scholarship, teaching, and marking papers is common, which adds up to below minimum income, and most of these position is taken up by forigin student. they sure know how to live with that amount. For a north american student its burger for 3 days and might as well spend some money by eating fried Chicken next day.

For a while i was looking at our education and financial rewards. I know not every body gets a higher education for financial gain, good for them. I see a person completed highschool and takes a trade school or aprentice with some trade person and within a year start making 40 or 50 thousands scaling down for logic sake. In recent sitution i say you are smart. Then some are going for higher education to obtain degree in 8 to 10 years. Now here comes the math, the person must spend 40 50 thousands for tution and room and board times 8 to 10 years, lost revenue of 40 50 thousands. looks like by the time they got their degree they are in the hole almost 1 million dollars. I say some body should povide these persons with reasonable financial support with out question.

When we play bridge now its wide open field for online and still closed game for f2f. In f2f there are regulars same as online. But there are some shuttle deferenses, like pair showing up earlier to reserve table 8 east west, pair showing up reserving both east west and north south, then make decision which way to seat based on who is playing what direction. Some players brings a suitcase full of mind buggling convention cards, about 90% follows the club guru's prescribed system. But online players comes from all over the world. Most of them are good players and defenders. but when comes to bidding system seems to crash. just few example, nothing is wrong if we both understand our system and know when to alert. STAYMAN, I bid 1nt pd 2c i bid 2d pd 3s sound like smolen but u not to sure because u know pd's country. any way u bid 4s, look at pd hands 5s 3h, he makes the contract . pd bid 1nt u bid 2d transfer pd bid 2nt or 3nt u pass partner makes again. etc.

In matchpoint if we get 200 its almost never good. 200 is due to underbidding, not dbling opponents, taking sac at low or high contract. T0 me the pairs that keep 200 in their control more often then not does very well.

While ago I played with a very nice and good player. We were playing in MP tourney, somewhere down the line I bid 2c, it goes pass pass pass. My partner felt owefull I guess. I played as good as with 3 2 fit, mp u never know may get something. Next day we are playing again and I bid 2c and went pass pass and pass. Only deference is opps wanted us to get the UNDO, we told them its against the BBO rules so we will take the loss. OPPS called the TD, whose response was I am sorry but i dont have the ability to undo. case closed. Now what are the odd of two 2c with same player in 2 days?

We all stopped the play for a while for whatever reasons, it goes like that, 1. had to let dog out 2. had to let dog in. 3. mouse acting up 4. pdone calls 5. had to change computer 6. spouse just came home 7. isp connectio problem 8. bbo connection poblem 9. ok now put kids to bed 10. somebody at the door

Last March 2005 when I joined BBO, somebody used to run a toruney with heading Beat 7nt xx. well I canot beat 7nxx but can you beat 7s xx PLUS 5300. thats the way it happned, I look at my hand 22 points and 4 s to kqxx, LHO is delear, opens 1s, my partner pass all the time, RHO 3s i quitly ask response premtive, i simply decided to wait and pass. LHO i guess took it as forcing spades raise and jump to 4nt, RHO 5 clubs, i ask 0 or 3 key card, still i am passing. now LHO was not giving up and taking his partnr for 3 key cards bids 7s . now finally i got the chance to bid and I bid dbl, lho was not taking any prisioner and RDBL, rest history.
