  1. Answers sent, kinda nice set.
  2. Double. I prefer 1NT in the sandwich position to show a distribuitional take-out of the unbid suits.
  3. W vs R: ♠8765 ♥T86 ♦A8 ♣KQT3 It goes: 1♥ 2♦ 2♥ ???
  4. I think there is trouble enough if diamons are 3-2, but I guess you're right, running the 9 works when they are EXACTLY like that and in case you lose to the 10 you'd have another chance to decide. The next trick goes 4-8-???
  5. ♦AQ7632 ♦94 You need 5 tricks: a. Finesse b. Small to the Ace and small c. Small to small and then: 1. Finesse 2. Ace Maybe this is too easy. But I hope it ain't
  6. For me it comes down to question 3. If playing MP's I'll prefer NT more often (and in this case) while at IMP's I might play 4♥ (MORE often, not always). I doubt we're getting a diamond lead and I suspect a spade lead is more likely (?!).
  7. 5NT, pick up a slam. I'm not sure 6♣ is ♦ support, but partner might think so, 5NT to make sure the Majors are in the picture.
  8. [hv=pc=n&w=sqt53hdq65caq8532&e=sak76hq9dak9843ck&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=p4hdp4sppp]266|200[/hv] MP's
  9. 1♦-1♠ 3♠-4♣ 4♦-4♥ 5♣-6♠ Also: 1♦-1♠ 3♠-5♦(exclusion KC?) 5♠-6♣ 7♠ But that's a fantasy. I think 6♠ should be good enough.
  10. I blame South since I don't understand why 3♥ could be P/C. But if it were, then North
  11. I also think that this was a great story, thanks for sharing.
  12. [hv=pc=n&s=skj632h2daqckqt72&n=saqt94htdt92caj83&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=2h(Muidenberg)2s4h4sppp]266|200[/hv] 4♣ leaping Michael's is not available (do you play it over this sort of opening?)
  13. [hv=pc=n&w=sk62ht62d5ckj9542&e=saj3h9dakt72cat63&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=1d1hp2hdp3c3h4c4h5cppp]266|200[/hv] Mp's. (Any difference if imp's?).
  14. I don't exactly have a catch-all; in general I'd repeat my first suit but I could also repeat the second if it's better (more honours) or cheaper (as in this case). I don't like opening 1♦ with 4♦'s and 5♣'s.

    6NT

I checked yesterday and hearts were actually: 76 AQ8xx
  16. North ♠ ♥ ♦ ♣K9 South ♠ ♥J ♦ ♣7 South plays the ♣7 and West tanks. South says 'OK, down one'. But it turns out that only the club Queen is out and by playing the King both tricks will be declarer's, which means contract made. East claims that she'll win the club Queen if declarer finesses, so she wants down one. What is the normal play here? How do you rule? Contract made or down 2.

    6NT

[hv=pc=n&s=sqthaq932d842ckqt&n=sa973h87dakqca982]133|200[/hv] I got to 6NT. I received a diamond lead, played a heart to my queen which held, another diamond to dummy and a heartducked to East, who led another diamond, all following. I enter my hand with a club, small cards all around, and then led the ♥A and a high heart, a spade from West and a club from East. I reached: ♠A9 ♥ ♦ ♣A98 ♠QT ♥x ♦ ♣QT What then?
  18. ♠A ♥AK9xxx ♦AQ9xxx ♣--- That's what she held.
  19. Hey! That's what I did! My partner hesitated for a bit and then bid 7♦. I was like :o , and after the lead was made I was like :D , 'cause she held...
  20. You're red, dealer and get: ♠JT9x ♥--- ♦KJTxx ♣Txxx Pa-Pa-1♥-Pa 1♠-2♣-3♦-Pa ??? What's 'correct'?
  21. You're red and hold: ♠A87x ♥QJT96xx ♦A9 ♣ It goes: Pa Pa Pa 1♥ Pa 1♠Pa ??? What's your revid? Imp pairs.
  22. You're red and hold: ♠A87x ♥QJT96xx ♦A9 ♣ It goes: Pa Pa Pa 1♥ Pa 1♠Pa ??? What's your revid? Imp pairs.
  23. When I played weak-two's I used to open 2 of a Major with many 5-4's as they came up fairly often. I think playing Multi has allowed me to do this without having opponents complain so much (as I also play Muidenberg).
