  1. Too dangerous to PASS . Think double is clearcut even at IMP
  2. This is a popular "expert" treatment in Europe. It is supposed to ease slam bidding (especially when opener has a 3 card fit but cannot super accept). I do not play it (i want to be able to transfer to 3M with a very weak hand) but I am clearly in the minority
  3. if 3H was available to show a slammish hand then the transfer was clearly the worst bid. If not, 3NT stands out by a mile. 3H is clearly called for (3D is fine but could be misinterpreted especially in a casual partnership)
  4. I'll make my normal lead : club and not worry about partner's hesitation . Second choice would be AS but my hand is too strong for that is too agressive at MP. Not clear the hesitation suggests a spade lead (with distribution partner can bid any number of spades on the 1st round) . would be interested to see what sort of hand my partner could have to hesitate 1mn !
  5. i have no rebid problem over 3H since I already passed 2H ! Partner rates to have decent H and 4S (no opening) so not much chance of a fit in minor.
  6. I would give North 90% of the blame. In a casual partnership having agreed to play RKC, I think 4NT sets Hearts as trumps. North had an easy and non ambiguous 3C (followed by 4C and then south can deny interest in C by bidding 4NT, any cue bid would set C as trumps). My only concern would be that 4NT be taken as quantitative (since 2S followed by 4NT is available) but I think unless clearly agreed 4NT is quantitative south should respond to RKC in H. 6C can clearcly be interpreted as bid 7H if you have something in clubs xx or CQ(since N is not interested in finding out about Kings)
  7. Over 4D I would bid 6D since i do not think we can properly investigate 7. The risk of misunderstanding on the meaning of 4NT is real therefore i bid what i think i can make. We are not in a forcing sequence so pass and pull from partner is not stronger than a direct 4D . With his pile of junk partner should pass , 4D shows an offensive hand with good diamonds and a fair opener
  8. Think DBL is clearcut at MP : 7H is not that likely to make and if 6S makes i might be protected by the field. Much tougher decision at IMP : think double is still correct but would not have the guts and would probably bid 7H at the table. 7H is probably the correct call at rubber bridge. Anyway, do not mind to be wrong on this one since the next occurence is probably in 40 years B)
  9. Facing a good partner i would cue bid 4C (may be streching a bit, but Axx AKxx,AKxx,xx) oppposite is possible) otherwise 4H (3H shows a good hand )
  10. 1 Stayman then 2S (limit with 5S , does not guarantee 4H). If not available 2H and bid game if superaccept but runs the danger of H showing double by LHO 2 PASS 3 3NT 4 DBL. convert 5 level to 5S
  11. DBL is out for me so the choice is between 3S,3NT,Pass . I do not have the guts for pass although i feel it's probably the winning call so 3S (minors). 3NT at pairs but can be teribly wrong at IMPs
  12. May be i missed something but tried to load hands with movie (first open / then send). These hands typically come from viewgraph (vanderbilt / bermuda) ; 1st hand displayed correctly but then when i hit redeal get message end of set of deals, subsequent hands will be dealt randomly although there are typically 10+ hands in the movie. am i the only one to have this problem ? can someone help (found i can use the next option in movie and send again to move to the next hand but this is cumbersome) may be the feature is not fully implemented yet ? any help/comment welcome thanks still happy/impressed by bbo anyhow
