I would like to use K parameter in order to display a deal just from "declarer point of view" but at the end of the deal I would like to display all the hands and give the opportunity to activate the "PLAY BUTTON". Yes, I confirm that Italian Bridge Federation bans psyches at bridge club tourneys. Main reason is to "protect" average players from experts. During national championships psyches are admitted. For condition of context of Women Club tourneys: http://www.wbfwomensbridgeclub.org/participation.html Rules & Regulations that I agree with WBF Womens Committee 3 years ago. Offcorse every thing can change, we can think to make next year the festival more "competitive" and less "friendly", but is this the right formula ? Proviamo ad animare questo forum. I campionati del mondo sono ormai alle spalle con la vittoria della compagine statunitense sulla nostra nazionale. Consoliamoci pensando che un campione come ZIA - probabilmente il giocatore con maggior carisma nel mondo - sia riuscito finalmente a vincere il suo primo titolo mondiale. Come molti spettatori su BBO sono rimasto letteralmente sorpreso nel vedere la formazione italiana schierata all'ultimo incontro. La scelta del capitano della squadra è stata sin dall'inizio quella di far ruotare le nostre 3 coppie. Sin dal primo giorno sono state schierate queste formazioni: FANTONI-NUNES / LAURIA - VERSACE (al 1° Turno) FANTONI - NUNES / DUBOIN - SEMENTA (al 2° Turno) LAURIA - VERSACE / DUBOIN - SEMENTA (al 3° Turno). Disponiamo di 3 coppie di fuoriclasse e ciascuna delle 3 coppie può fare la differenza in qualsiasi momento. Apprezzabile quindi questa scelta di non schierare i giocatori "più in palla", ma di procedere costantemente a rotazione. A detta di molti, durante l'intero campionato, abbiamo commesso più errori rispetto allo standard abituale dei nostri campioni, e la coppia più in forma (o la meno fallosa, o quella che ha "portato più punti) è stata quella costituita da FANTONI e NUNES. Ultimo giorno, sabato, ultimi 2 turni di gara. Come previsto schieriamo FANTONI - NUNES / LAURIA - VERSACE al primo turno. Si recupera e ci si porta a -40. Serve un gran secondo turno, non si deve sbagliare e (serve una mano dalla buona sorte). Qualsiasi formazione sarebbe stata in grado di effettuare il miracolo, ma tutti si aspettavano di vedere schierata la solita formazione del secondo turno. Cosa ha spinto il capitano della nazionale ad invertire improvvisamente la rotta e a non schierare proprio FANTONI-NUNES ? Il risultato probabilmente non sarebbe cambiato e USA avrebbe vinto comunque (meritatamente) il titolo. Torniamo ora indietro di 30 giorni, il nuovo consiglio FIGB vi nomina commissario tecnico, e giustamente convocate le 3 coppie che ci hanno rappresentato in Brasile. Rispondete a queste 2 domande: 1) La vostra strategia durante l'intero campionato: a ) Rotazione costante b ) La coppia "vincente" rigioca (eventualmente rigiocano entrambe) c) La coppia "perdente" sta fuori 2) Ultimo turno di gara a ) Proseguo con la rotazione, se ho deciso di adottare questa strategia; b ) Schiero le due coppie che sino a quel momento hanno avuto il rendimento maggiore; c ) Non ho un grosso feeling con una coppia (lo ho anche dichiarato ufficialmente), la lascio fuori anche se ha avuto il miglior rendimento ..... quale maggiore soddisfazione di quella di vincere il titolo in questo modo ? Often - Roland knows this - Italian Bridge Federation asks me to broadcast some events of italian team (it can be italian championship or some time european or world championship or other important competitions). I all these cases FIGB asks to have the possibility to manage one room. So what happens in these case is that one room is just with italian commentators and other room is just in english language. This has happened at the beginning some years ago when I have started to make a "strong cooperation" between BBO and Italian Bridge Federation - starting from Vugraph - and hoping to extend it in all other bbo fields (tourneys, teaching ecc...). (If I remember first happening has been first European Cup that took place in Rome some years ago won by Angelini's team: Lauria-Versace and Nunes-Fantoni) Vincenzo

Sorry U, but I didn't understand which type of try I can make (if there is one): (what does it mean "silverpen" ???) I resume my problem: 1) I am in my office lan and I am using a lap top XP but I am not system administrator of this laptop (my company policy 2) There is a firewall on our network 3) I have no problems to browse internet - I can reach every ste; our standard is Microsoft explorer. I can use FTP, but pop protocol is not allowed (I can just read my email using "web mail" but not using a pop client (pop client just works inside our network, but can't reach other providers) 4) I can't connect bbo from this pc using netbridgevue because of firewall problems 5) Using flash bbo I reach the login screen without problems, but at the moment I insert my nick / Pw a message appears "Connection lost" ... so I never have been able to get main flash bbo screen after the login screen 6) Can I help you to understand the problem if - for example - tomorrow I try to connect from m y office and then will send you an email telling the time I have tried ? I am sure it is not a simple problem to discover - just let me know if there is a chance or not ! Ciao Vincenzo

I have exactly same problem from my office PC. I am using a mobile pc but I am inside a lan network and a firewall. For example I can't connect using bbo client from my office. So I hoped it was possible using flash bbo, but I have the problem you have described. Is there any solution ? (different from connecting to bbo using my mobile phone .... !!!! (or making a present to my office system administrator !!!) Thx Vincenzo

It could be interesting to make a poll in Italy to check how many bridge players agree with MTL decision .... Agree with Roland .... this is politic .... not bridge ..... I can't tell more for the moment ..... I think that many persons in Italy hope that italian team will not overcome the round robin !! Vincenzo

Ti suggerisco - se non lo conosci - Deep Finesse che è il programma più famoso per analisi di mani a doppio morto se vai sul sito www.bridgebase.it trovi la versione demo del programma Vincenzo

What is incredible is that during the championships there were 2 operators (like every year).... but not for BBO Vugraph but for the local rama room using an old software with a dos interface (that was very nice 15 years ago ...) that has nothing to share with BBO interface. I have not been able to convince FIGB to use BBO Vugraph as local Rama room ... so with same operators we have: 1) a better local vugraph with better interface 2) bbo Vugraph I was in Salsomaggiore playing the championship ... nobody can figure how many phone calls I got asking me ..... why you don't broadcast this event ? I can specify what happens for BBO ITALIA (since I am the manager of this club): 1) To become member of BBO ITALIA a player must fill a form placed in www.bboitalia.it web site in which is written that the player accept to receive some time msgs from the CLUB (we always use chat msgs and not mail msgs because chat msgs are are less "stressful" for players (unless we have very inportant msgs to send to our members, but this happens usually not more than 1 time x month); 2) Just members that have filled this form are included as members of BBO ITALIA private clubs; 3) Every player that wants to cancel his registration can send me an email (info@bridgebase.it) and he will soon erased from BBOITALIA private club and will not receive more club messages; I know that not all private clubs have this behaviour (I usually receive many msgs from private clubs I have never registered). But I think that the best solution is sending to the private club manager a nice msg like "please cancel my name from your private club since I am disturbed from these type of adv". Did you try this ? I am sure that every manager of every private club will soon do this since he has no interest to send adv to people that doesn't like to receive them ! I don't think we should involve Fred or Uday in this issue (they have more important things to think about), since there are many possibility to avoid to receive club msgs. Vincenzo

Rain è il "giallo" su BBO che è responsabile della ...... "giustizia sportiva" ! In altre parole è Rain che riceve tutte le mail indirizzate ad abuse@bridgebase.com. Tutti gli altri gialli possono intervenire e all'occorrenza espellere da BBO i giocatori solo in casi particolarmente gravi. Faccio un esempio: Un pazzo bestemmia in lobby - in questo caso uno dei gialli può intervenire ed espellerlo immediatamente da BBO. Si occuperà poi Rain di decidere se e quando è il caso di riammetterlo. In tutti i casi più comuni (un giocatore che insulta un altro al tavolo), la decisione non viene presa dai singoli gialli (da me per esempio - come nel caso in questione), ma viene inviata una mail a Rain. E' stato deciso, soprattutto per avere un metro di giudizio uniforme, di centralizzare questa attività su un unico responsabile che è Rain al quale ho sollecitato di intervenire. Ti ricordo comunque che BBO prevede un modo molto semplice per evitare di avere a che fare con maleducati o gente con cui non ci va di avere contattti. Marcarlo come nemico ed ignorare le chat dei nemici. Vincenzo

la Federazione americana, più lungimirante - ci è arrivata da un pezzo e BBO costituisce per la ACBL una notevole fonte di reddito, in più grazie a BBO sta progressivamente incrementando i propri iscritti. Purtroppo in FIGB la pensano in un altro modo ...

E' diverso tempo che manco da questo forum e apro ora un nuovo post su un argomento che ritengo molto interessante. Vorrei un parere da voi tutti ed in particolare dai frequentatori di BBO che hanno un coinvolgimento diretto in qualche Associazione Sportiva (presidenti, direttori di torneo, istruttori). BBO è ad oggi una realtà del tutto estranea all'ambiente federale e all'interno della federazione è vista come un nemico che sottrae giocatori alle associazioni sportive. Personalmente non sono di questo avviso. Il bridge "al tavolo" è una cosa e il bridge on line un'altra, possono entrambe convivere e sono pienamente convinto che tra i due mondi si possano creare delle grosse sinergie. Se da una parte è vero che 10 anni fa chi voleva giocare a bridge (a parte il bridge casalingo che esiste ed è sempre esistito) poteva solo recarsi presso uno dei circoli della propria città, mentre oggi dispone di una ottima alternativa restando comodamente seduto nella propria abitazione, è altrettanto vero che molte persone si sono (ri)avvicinate al bridge proprio grazie alla crescita del bridge Online e BBO può essere un ottimo veicolo promozionale per avvicinare i giocatori SE OPPORTUNAMENTE MOTIVATI alla attività didattica ed agonistica di circolo. Dal prossimo anno ci saranno delle novità in proposito; ho preso contatti recentemente con i presidenti ed i responsabili della attività didattica di alcune Ass. Sportive per portare avanti un progetto comune che coinvolga BBO ITALIA della quale sono responsabile e le Associazioni Sportive stesse. Tutte le Società Sportive interessate ad avere informazioni al riguardo possono contattarmi direttamente per email a info@bridgebase.it lasciando possibilmente un recapito telefonico per poterne parlare approfonditamente a voce. Vorrei sentire quindi un parere essenzialmente dai frequentatori o dagli addetti ai lavori del bridge di circolo su questo tema: "Percepite BBO come un nemico che progressivamente sottrae frequentatori alle associazioni sportive, oppure al contrario ritenete che BBO abbia introdotto tecnologie innovative che possono comunque essere utilizzate anche a vantaggio delle associazioni sportive stesse (vugraph, didattica. ecc...) e che possa essere considerato un grosso veicolo promozionale per incrementare la frequenza dei giocatori all'interno delle associazioni sportive ed offrire ai propri iscritti dei servizi innovativi ?" Prima di concludere invito i responsabili (o frequentatori) delle varie associazioni sportive a pubblicizzare su questo forum il (i) tornei natalizi effettuati durante queste feste. Proprio per la natura di questi tornei ("amichevoli" con poco agonismo) sono certo di fare cosa gradita a tutti i giocatori di BBO che invito caldamente a partecipare. Scegliete l'associazione sportiva della vostra città a voi più comoda .... e partecipate al torneo. E' poi gradito un feedback sempre su questo forum.
