Sounds interesting but could you lower it to 20 posts? So we can participate? And 10 hands is more than enough.

KittyC replied to KittyC's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
OK Eugene the save buttons are clearly marked now "save and overwrite" and "save a new copy" Delete is on the way also .... I have created a discussion group over at Bridge Winners for all things ACE so please give us your feedback there http://bridgewinners.com/index.php?option=...wgroup&Itemid=3 -

Delete coming soon. Also perhaps a box at bottom to either make new or overwrite with overwrite the default? Thanks so much for the useful feedback -

I see I missaw the post - yes it is designed to be acceptable for ACBL events thus no removal of checkboxes There are lots of places to add text. A convention card is designed to be a summary of your system. If you need more space, keep system notes! The opponents do not need so much detail on the card  -

There is a blank card but you have to be a member (free) to see it. Since you need to be a member to create and save cards. We could change that I suppose. Checkboxes work fine for everyone else - what browser and operating system do you have? I will look at importing the BBO card ... -

Yes the profile pic upload is not yet working, should be fixed by Friday midday. Suit symbols !C !D etc in ACE (ACBL Card Editor) do convert for the print page (click printer icon next to your saved card). They will also convert for aritcles and comments soon ... just need to figure out the bug in my plugin :D Thanks for checking it out. Feedback is very useful. -
Many of the lin and resulting pbn files are incomplete due to connectivity problems. Anyone who was watching and can fill in the blanks please let us (me or jan) know! Better yet if you could edit the pbn files and send them along ... (and maybe post here that you are doing that segment so no one else does it too) the full play and hand record as we have them can be seen by clicking on the score cards which you can get to from the bracket sheets: http://usbf.org/index.php?option=com_vugraphs&event=USBC2007 http://usbf.org/index.php?option=com_vugra...event=USWBC2007 all the pbn files I created are in these 2 areas: http://usbf.org/vugraphs/USBC2007/pbns/ http://usbf.org/vugraphs/USWBC2007/pbns/ the tool used to convert lins to pbns can be downloaded from here (in case you want to convert your copy of the lin file): http://kittycooper.com/Bridge/modules.php?...wdownload&cid=9

Thank you Denis!!!! Segment 1 hand records and scores are now posted at the USBF web site Dave - There are two Python programs. One for LIN to PBN and the other does PBN to HTML The LIN to PBN is freeware written by my son Paul Bethe and can be downloaded from my Bridge site at http://kittycooper.com/Bridge/modules.php?name=Downloads - it is an improvement on other converters in that the alerts are transfered over and the correct PBN format is produced. The second pass that makes the HTML files and score files is a program I wrote myself. Currently only works on a PC, then gets uploaded. I need to make it more automated, runable on a website by a USBF admin. Since I do this for a living, not free. Sorry. But I might consider making it available inexpensively to worthy organizations. My son actually uses it to look at his sessions online - he says it works fine with one table. So perhaps I should package it up and make it available. But I have been too busy with well paying work ... - Kitty

Can you all post the correct LIN file? Else could someone send me one so we can do our LIN to html conversion for the USBF ?
-
The USBF has published what there was of the Reisinger vugraph on its web site http://usbf.org/ (see side box called web vugraphs) Thanks to Jan Martel we got player names into the PBN files and our HTML display format - Kitty

Anyone who has any usable second segment lin files for round of 8 please contact me. There were bad connectivity problems. I have 2 boards for the Cayne match and only some boards for the Meltzer match: Meltzer seg2 Qtrs By the way we are using the programs discussed in my previous post. - Kitty

Thanks all, we are live with these HTML vugraphs now at http://USBC2006.org for our US Team Trials. Have a look - Kitty http://openskywebdesign.com

It would make more sense for you to create a PBN file. Bridge Base will display these as will many other programs. The PBN format is fully documented and many tools that use them can be found here at the PBN homepage

OK here is our lin to pbn converter: http://kittycooper.com/Bridge/modules.php?...wdownload&cid=9 provided by Paul Bethe as is, no warrantee, requires the Python scripting language on your computer - Kitty
-
The original pbn to lin converter that I used was very good but not available as source, so we could not make the additions needed for the HTML presentation: http://www.ebridgenz.com/download.html So we wrote our own lin to pbn converter specific to vugraph matches which handles missing boards, results only cases from closed room, etc. I will ask Paul if it is freeware/shareware so I can publish it for download - Kitty

OK the PBN files are now posted (there link to each one from the bottom of the corresponding scorecard), as well as the final quarter of the spingold. Although you can use BBO to view the PBN files it seems to get the board numbers wrong, and thus vulnerabilities wrong, if the match does not start on board 1. No directory structure because it is just a collection of test files - the USBF site will let you click to these "scorecards" from the bracket score tables - Kitty

I am putting together some new stuff for the USBF web site for the upcoming team trials. I have written a Python program which creates HTML files from the BBO vugraphs in PBN format (and my son Paul Bethe has written a program which takes the raw lin files and makes PBN files). I would love some feedback on the HTML format. Here are some "scorecards" from the recent Chicago Natls and from Verona: http://www.kittycooper.com/Bridge/modules....=Bridge_Matches Click on any board number or contract to see what happened with the open and closed rooms side by side The final version will include bracket sheets where you can click a segment's score to get to the scorecard and team pages which you can get to by clicking on the team names. The team pages will have team pictures, rosters, bios and links to convention cards or system summaries (right Jan?) - Kitty Cooper OpenSkyWebDesign.com
