  1. Pass Assume partner knows what he is doing when bidding vulnerable. Put the dummy down and go get a beer
  2. 4♠, Whats the problem like Justin would say :) Solid trumps, running suit, it rates to be a winner on the long run, and it describes the strong hand with no singletons. Any help suit tries will just help the opposition find the best lead or sacrifice
  3. While 1♥ is better than 3♥, problem with opening this hand is partner will always play you for more and some quick tricks, and will be quick to dbl their maybe their spade contract for which you dont have much defence or bid too aggresively to impossible game or slam. So pass is not that siily as it looks like
  4. Pass It may be very possible that we make 3 of a minor, but it is also very likely that parther has 4 or 5 hearts and will bent over backwards to bid them.... which will go off by 1 or 2 maybe even doubled.. Parner may choose to balance with a double though with many hands with singleton spade or sometimes maybe with 2-4-4-3. Also, opener may have a very strong hand, just about to bid 4S.
  5. My guess is that 6♥ will go down more often than not, assuming some average 2C opener, and maybe 5-4-2-2 distribution with opener and people also tend to stretch a little to open 2C.. This hand lack controls or a singleton so I will downgrade and bid only 4H. Parther will move on with some powerhouse. P.S I dont agree with second negative though... This hands is a litle stronger then complete yarborough. Cheers
  6. If you are giving up ♥ menace anyway why do you cash ♠K to risk a trump loser? It is the ♥A the squeezing card after all isn't it? You dont lose anything by discarding a heart. You still have a heart in hand and dummy will have Ax, enough for a double threat
  7. [hv=w=sxxxxhj10xxdxxxcxx&e=sqxxxhkqxxdjcqxxx]266|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] OK, so these were the closed hands... Declarer had a long agonized thought,,, and after 5 minutes, finessed in spades and claimed;))) So in this case East can be squeezed in spades and clubs, and double squeeze fails? Probably , when you see East with singleton club, odds are improved that he also holds 4 clubs...Interestingly enough, when clubs are 3-3 all the time, you can make if you ruff out Q of clubs, but fail playing on simple squeeze
  8. Bidding South North 1C 1D 1S 2H 2NT 3D 3H 4C 4S 4NT 5H 5NT 6C 7D 4 Clubs and 4S alerted as Cuebids. Opposition silent. Declarer was a star player from Egypt and opps experts. I guess the problem was not that difficult, but looks you have to decide which squeeze to play for , before lets say trick # 10. One is automatic squeeze for either defender holding Q♠ and 4 clubs, and the other one is double squeeze with heart as a pivot suit, where LHO has to keep spades and RHO clubs. So if you bare ace♥ in dummy, double squeze is no longer available. Any guidance or winning percentage? Line where you gain extra dummy entry with 10 of D and trying to ruff out Q♣ certainly have some merit.
  9. [hv=n=sxhxxdakq9xxxcakx&s=sakjxhaxxd10xcjxxx]133|200|[/hv] I kibitzed this hand today and found it interesting, You are North playing in 7D and receive a small spade lead. Any thoughts on the best line of play and why?
  10. hello All Does any body knows how to bypass company firewall ( large network). BBO Help does suggest some site, but I have tried it without success. I am sure some of the people already have figured it out how to play from work Thanks
