  1. I think it would be great if, PRIOR to a game’s start time, the director could add a robot pair when it is known that there are an odd number of pairs registered. Thanks!
  2. Are free non-ACBL tournaments still restricted to starting in the mornings?
  3. Thanks. So initially, one table will see two sitout seats, and then, when I do the robot substitution, that table will see robots taking the place of the sitouts, and the first hand will be dealt?
  4. Can one substitute a pair of robots for a sit-out round in a free tournament? How exactly?
  5. Great. How exactly does the director add robots to fill out the half table?
  6. Can someone from BBO please weigh in on this? If I have, say, 13 pairs, 6 1/2 tables, and the director can't fill the table, will there be a sit-out round for every pair, or just some pairs, and will everyone play the same hands?
  7. Same problem. Clearing the cache doesn't fix the problem. This is on a MacBook with Safari.
  8. Additional info - I'm getting the same behavior right now - 9:23 PM central time. Prior to clicking the Casual option, the number of players online is 11,763, and several of my friends are listed. I click on the Casual option, my friends disappear, and the number of people is 2,940.
  9. Additional info - I logged out and logged back in, and had my friends do likewise. Same result. Then I tried a different browser - Edge (my first try was in Chrome), same result. This is on a Windows 10 box, btw. Then I asked on of my friends to start the table. They got the same behavior.
  10. Today I ran into a problem I haven't seen previously at BBO. When I logged in at around 2 PM central time, the number of people playing was around 42K. I clicked on the People tab and made sure that the three friends of mine that I wanted to invite to my table were online, i.e. listed in the Friends list. They were. When I clicked on the Casual option, immediately my friends disappeared from the Friends list, and the number of People playing, displayed above the People list dropped down to 12K. When I hit the back button, the friends showed up again in the list, and the number of people playing reverted to 42K. I was not able to start a table and invite them - the site displayed the error message that the people were not online.
  11. Often, when kibitzing, one would like to be seated when a seat becomes available. When a non-kibitzing player leaves the table, usually another player who has clicked the "Take me to the first seat available" option will be given priority over a kibitzer, so the "Sit" label that would appear in the vacated seat will not appear, because of the speed at which the external player is seated. I would suggest that the menu within the table includes a "Sit when available" option, and that this option would only appear in the kibitzer's interface.
  12. Excellent resource, thanks!! I tried adding a dealer specification to one of your hand specs and got an error message. Where in the code would I add this?: dealer (south)
  13. I'm also having trouble with Constraint Sets, in Chrome and Edge. I created this Constraint Set via the interface (intended to generate 1 NT opening bid hands): ((clubs(south) >= 2 && clubs(south) <= 5 && diamonds(south) >= 2 && diamonds(south) <= 5 && hearts(south) >= 2 && hearts(south) <= 5 && spades(south) >= 2 && spades(south) <= 5 && hcp(south) >= 15 && hcp(south) <= 17 )) When I save and redeal I get an "Error Generating Deal" message.
  14. Did BBO lift the restriction on free tournaments starting between 1 and 5 PM?
  15. Did BBO lift the restriction on free tournaments starting between 1 and 5 PM?
  16. Sorry, I don't quite understand how a clocked tourney works. What happens when the clock runs out if a table a) hasn't seen the cards in the last hand of the round, b) hasn't started playing the hand in the last hand of the round? Also, you said above: "In an unclocked tourney the clock is reset for each table each time a new round starts." How is that different than a clocked tourney? The few clocked tourneys I have directed re-set the clock for each table at the beginning of each round. Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by "reset for each table"?
  17. If I am running a private pairs tournament and I want everyone to play the same boards do I just need to make sure that I have an even number of pairs? How does it work when there are 7 pairs - 3 1/2 tables?
  18. At BBO is it possible to hold an ACBL-sanctioned game only for the members of my local ACBL club, and have master points awarded?
  19. [sOLVED] - Sorry - now I see that the number in the Start column is in minutes, not hours.
  20. In the Free Tournaments list, if one clicks on the Pending link, all pending tournaments are listed, with the number of hours until start time under the Start column. I added a new free tournament this morning, scheduled to start in around 28 hours, but it doesn't show up in the list. In the Entries tab of the tournament entry window, I only checked the Include Custom List box. Does that affect whether a tournament is listed in the list of free tournaments?
