  2. Congrats, Art. Very well played by you. Sorry, was not up to task
  3. I may be wrong, but according to my understanding declarer play by GIB implemented by the following algorithm. 1. Generate a finite number of possible (according the current knowledge) boards. 2. Play each of generated boards double-dummy. 3. Select the play that gives you a better results averaged on the set of generated boards and play it in the current board. 4. Repeat the procedure on the next round. The main difference between the basic and advanced GIB is the number of boards program generates and analyses before choosing a play. I don't know the number of generated boards, but I guess it is relatively small especially for basic version, so it is possible that generated set of boards will not be fair representation of actual probability, so GIB will choose very strange line.

  5. Now you are simply sounding like a person who has a nice conversation with voices in his head. I don't think my participation in your internal discussion is necessary; I have no interest in conversation with person who does not read lines I wrote, but reply on something he imagine between them.
  6. No. Program based on race. It has racial discrimination as justification.
  7. Thanks, I was actually wandering during the writing that sentence. What I wrote did not feel grammatically right, but the correct syntax did not come to mind. :)
  8. Please quote where I wrote anything like that? No, my argument is just a plea to be honest in discussions and do not camouflage trues to make it looks better. Sorry asking for too much.
  9. No, I am saying the exactly reversed way. I am saying that affirmative action policies are polices based on race of the person and applied unrelated to when person's family entered to USA and was it actually discriminated or not. Please read the message I replied to understand my point. I am not arguing it is good or bad, I am just asking "to call a spade a spade" not more not less.
  10. Nice way of saying, but not supported by reality. As a matter of fact prioritizing based on the race, not on the family history. People who's ancestors were discriminated based on their skin color, people who's ancestors had nothing to do with discrimination, and people who's ancestors were on another side of discrimination (benefited from slave trades) are treated exactly the same according that policy. People of different skin color who's ancestors were discriminated based on their nationality do not get prioritized by that policy.
  11. There is old Russian joke, sorry it seems a bit rude: "Rabinowitch, dear, please make up your mind and hide one of two things: Orthodox Cross or your penis.” I am simply saying that if you agree with existing of based on race policies you cannot say "race has nothing to do with anything" in the same time. I am not discussing morality and logic behind the policy, but can share my opinion - generalization based solely on the skin color is stupid and racist.

  17. My apologies for slow play. Just yesterday returned from out of country trip with very limited access to Internet and almost unlimited access to alcohol. Will try to finish the rest of my game as soon as possible.
  18. I had some strange bug on my IPAD, not sure if it was new version related or my connectivity. I bid, clicked on my bid, type in explanation. It shows me that explanations are there, but opponents cannot see them. When I typed in explanations before bid - everything was ok.
  19. Sorry. I still did not get it. Why should it matter how South intended his bid? I don't think Code have any regulation towards players intensions. Code talks about _agreements_. Alerts for agreements, not for intensions, not for cards. It seems for me, that you are insisting that if one player had hallucinations, director should take them as the proof of agreement. (I may be wrong, please provide me reference to Code to prove it.)
  20. The simple fact the NK is not the part of proposed of trilateral talks. :)
  21. I recently signed up for free Stanford online course "The Threat of Nuclear Terrorism" (https://lagunita.stanford.edu/courses/course-v1%3AFSI%2BNuclearTerrorism%2BFall2017/) Very interesting but extremely sad and scary lectures and discussions. There were several discussions about NK with no real answer of course, but seems like the only possible approach to try to solve that problem.
  22. Sorry, I am confused here. Before we start talking about LA we probably should learn if any MI/UI occurred. What was an agreement used by NS pair? Based in description "NS are a fairly basic club pair, and don't play together regularly" I guess they have agreement "no agreements." In such a case 2NT was a natural bid, no alert required and failure to alert 2NT did not transfer any UI for South.
