  2. Just hadn't got around to it. Will post the other one.
  3. If 3♦ is a splinter, then isn't 4♦ a void splinter?
  4. [hv=d=n&v=b&s=sa942h8d842ca9752]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♠ - ?[/hv] Your call from the options above?
  5. Because partner would think you hold the ♥K. I'm not saying the agreements are best. Just telling you what they are. Edit - Checked with partner. See edited continuations.
  6. You may want to rethink this one. Ducking a club and losing the trump A won't quite win the post mortem.
  7. We definitely do not play any form of last train. So hidden continuations are: If you bid 4♥ - If you bid 4♠ - If you bid 5♣ - Back to you. Edit - I checked with partner on what he would actually bid.
  8. Obviously if you pass, the question is if you are sitting for partner's reopening double?
  9. Heh. I agree. So maybe I should clarify. We play that all bad varieties of the same hand go through 2NT. So 3NT shows something "better" than 2NT then 3NT.
  10. [hv=d=e&v=b&n=skqxhaqtxxdacaq7x&s=s9xxxh9xdkq9xct98]133|200|Scoring: IMP P - 1♥; 1♠ - 3♣; 3NT - All Pass[/hv] Lead: ♦6 Plan the play.
  11. [hv=d=e&v=n&n=st98xhaqt8xdxck9x&s=skqjxxxhxxdaca8xx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You overbid and get to 6♠. Lead: ♦K Plan the play.
  12. [hv=d=s&v=n&s=saj9hkxdxxxct987x]133|100|Scoring: IMP P - (P) - 1♥ - (2♣); ?[/hv] Our bidding plan?
  13. [hv=d=e&v=b&s=s9xxxh9xdkq9xct98]133|100|Scoring: IMP (P) - P - (P) - 1♥; (P) - ?[/hv] Have we landed or are we scraping up a response?
  14. [hv=d=w&v=n&s=sqj94hj6dq4caj963]133|100|Scoring: IMP (2♠) - Dbl - (P) - 3NT*; (P) - 4♦ - (P) - 4NT (agree?); (P) - 5NT - (P) - ?[/hv] * Lebensohl where fast shows a stopper 1. Give an example hand for partner. 2. What is your call now?
  15. [hv=d=e&v=n&s=skqjxxxhxxdacaxxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP (P) - 1♠ - (P) - 4♦; (P) - ?[/hv] 4♦ was a splinter, which is played as limit plus. Your call?

    Hatred

Stanford fits the bill for me.
  17. Why don't we decide that for whoever steps up and organizes, we will find the information at the NABC Information booth?
  18. I'm in. Except for the first Saturday unfortunately. Meeting up with my bro. We should have something that lets people now we are BBFers!
  19. If I read the auction correctly, we doubled. Self Lightner. Not saying that makes sense, but the last round of calls was ...P - P - X, not X - P - P
  20. Your bid on xx AQxx AQJTx xx after 1♦ - 1♠? But fine 2=4=6=1 would have been better to the point. Or do you think that's not possible either?
  21. I think it should at least be mentioned, BIL notwithstanding, that if you play 2♥ here as forcing, then you are stuck with the 5-4 or 5-5 majors hand and less than invitational values. A solution around that is to play Reverse Flannery over 1m openings (which also helps over certain over calls like a 2♣ response). Given that 2♥ is forcing, then I would bid: 1♦ - 1♠; 2♦ - 2♥; 3♥ - 3♠; 3NT Yes you may play in a 5-2, but that may be the best contract opposite partner's 2=4=5=2 hand with no club stopper.
  22. Another vote for 2NT scrambling. It's a clear meaning in one of my partnerships and would probably get a puzzled look in my other one where we play a lot more natural bidding. 2NT natural isn't the worst thing in the world here either though.
  23. Bobby Wolff discussed this in his bridge column yesterday I believe. His view was that if opener passes, then the raise is game invitational (so shows more than a minimum takeout double). If opener doubles or bids, then the raise to the 2-level is merely competitive and shows 4-card support, but does not promise more than a minimum takeout double.
  24. Anyone else reminded of the scene from Mystery Men?
  25. If you do and don't mind sharing, I would be interested to know.
