Hi folks, Playing 1♦ as First negative and the lowest bid of a minor as the Second Negative What would you think is the best approach with length but without strength when holding a bad higher ranking suit? 2♣ 2♦ First Negative 2♥ _? Let's say you have theese hands as responder: a.- 976542 6 873 982 b.- 97642 62 873 9842 c.- 97642 6 873 984 3♣ is Second Negative 2♠ is lenght (because of failing a positive response) One round forcing 3♣ or 2♠ withe each hand? B.- Would this secuence be forcing woithout discussing? 2♣ 2♦ 2♥ 2♠ any 3♠ would be forcing? Thanks all Kind Regards, Paul_S

Rebid after 2NT Lebensohl or Ingberman
paulsim replied to paulsim's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Maybe the hand was not the best. I was asking ifwitj an orthodoxe reverse, 19+ (or 20+, enough for game over a minium responder) Bid relay anytime 《19 vs 》19 with: 0 club 1+ clubs 2+ clubs 3+ clubs When would you break the 3C relay? Just because of shape or strenght? 3D used to be extra shape? 6th diamond, so with extra stregth is 3C non forcing or just bid 3N without stopper? Wether this hand is: 3C non forcing 3D extra shape 3D extra strength 3D extra shape or extrenght 3N?? A8 AQJ7 AKJ876 4 Thanks all...interesting points of view.. -
Rebid after 2NT Lebensohl or Ingberman
paulsim replied to paulsim's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Thank you very much for your replies. One more concern: If strenght is irrelevant and bid Leb/Ing style 3C, aren't you stucked with a 19-21 without club stopper? A7 AQJ6 AKQ65 65 vs Q854 973 43 AJ7 1D 1S 2H 2N ? Would you bid non forcing 3C? How can responder know to bid 3N with stopper? He IS 5-7, He doesn't know if opener is minimun 16-18 and stop in a safe parcial or strong 19+ and have to look for game. Ty very much. Kind Regars -
Hi, How would you rebid if you are playing 2NT Lebensohl or 2NT Ingberman? Are both hands candidates to 3C and wait? Or would you prefere a better scheme? A.- 16-18 hand without stopper in the unbid suit 8 AKQ3 AKJ87 872 1♦ 1♠ 2♥ 2N* ¿? B.- 19-21 hand without stopper 8 AKQ3 AKQJ8 872 1♦ 1♠ 2♥ 2N* ¿? Ty very much Kind Regards, PaulS

Hi all I suppose it is called American system defensive signals, or something alike. If playing Actitude, Count, Preference on partner's high card lead on suit contracts. Partner leads Ace, and I have 832 so 2: negative actitude If p then plays King, now the count is given, but, this is the question: The count signal is given with the residue?: so high from 83, or from the full holding: 3 because the first one was the 2, or it doesn't matter? Maybe there is no standard procedure? Thank very much Kind Regards, Paul_S

I couldn't find information about it searching de forums, and Myhands only offers 2 o 3 days of results. Thank you Kind Regards,

1♣ Double Pass 1♠ Pass ? a.- KQJ6 AJT9 AK2 82 b.- K2 AKJ82 AK64 A2 Advancer's 1♠: Let's say it shows 0-8 With hand a) game is still possible. One possibility would be an invitation with 3♠ But advancer would pass with a not broken hand, i.e A987 872 Q72 654 So, overcaller could cuebid asking for further details: maximun - high - few - broken 1♣ Double Pass 1♠ pass 2♣? pass 2♦? or any other bid that says, not maximun and not broken pass 4♠ With hand b), double and cuebid seems to be standard approach with strong hands, but then it would be a risk to "accept" because overcaller didnt show spade support. May advancer answere with a new cuebid? What would be standard meaning for it, if any? I will accept to play 4♠ based on spade invitation? Could this be possible? a.- 1♣ double pass 1♠ pass 2♣ pass 3♣ = I would play 4♠ if your cuebid shows invitational hand with spade support pass 4♠ b.- 1♣ double pass 1♠ pass 2♣ pass 3♣, same.. I would jump to 4 spades.... pass 3♥ = strong hand, but without spade support Then advancer could pass, bid 4♥ or even bid ♠ if it were a long suit.... Advancer's cuebid... What standard meanings could have, if any? How would you handle strong hands without support to advancer's call vs strong invitational hands with support? Thank very much Kind Regards, Paul_S

1D (X) p (1S) P ? A. A2 AKJT6 AJ54 76 B. A2 AKJ65 AQJ6 K2 a. Pretty straight forward 2H? b. b1. 2H is too little? b2. 3H is not that good and long enough? b3. 2D cuebid would risk advancer 4S? How would you bid? Ty, Kind Regards Paul_S

p....p....1♥....Overcalled with: _______________________a.- 1♠ _______________________b.- 2♣ _______________________c.- 2♦ _______________________d.- [double] _______________________e.- 1NT 15-17 _______________________f.- 1NT by passed hand (maybe take out for minors or any other stuff) ? Responder has a Limit raise: heart support good 10 to bad 12 How would you proceed when a "Drury expected secuence" is interfered? Would you venture with a support cuebid, maybe going too high? Ambigous double? Too conservative support? Jump? Artificial bid? Ty very much. Kind Regards, Paul_S

Fourth Suit by opener Default: Asking or showing (Edited action 4) Hi all, I wonder if it is any standard about this subject, or it's a only a partnership question. what do you think? A.- When opener bids fourth suit is always asking for stopper B.- When opener bids fourth suit is always showing values. C.- If it is a GF action, opener always shows values D.- If opener has limited his hand, when bidding fourth suit is showing values E.- If opener has not limited his hand, when bidding fourth suit is asking for stoppper. F.- If responder has limited his hand, opener's fourth suit is showing values? or asking for stopper? G.- If responder has not limited his hand, opene's fouth suit is showing values? or asking for stopper? H.- Anyone more? What condition would you write to show or demand values in the suit if it is not always one way? 1.- Shows or asks? 1♥ 1♠ 2♣ 2NT 3♦? 2.- Shows or asks? 1♥ 1♠ 2♣ 2♠ 3♦ 3.- Shows or asks? 1♣ 1♠ 2♣ 2♥ Natural, F1-10PH+ 3♦ 4.- Shows or asks? 1♣ 1♥ (Edited.
