  1. If I had the spade 2, I might try to deceive the declarer by leading it. If I had had AKJxx instead, I would lead the Ace.
  2. I am sorry if this has been asked before. How does on go about creating bridge movies like the ones in the deal of the week? I am talking about the ones in which we have commentary going on, the user can be asked to answer questions etc. Thanks.
  3. Is it possible that, when we are playing back a bridge movie, we could pause it in the middle of a trick, (for eg after the 2nd hand has played) and run a deep finesse analysis on it? Right now it seems that we have no control over how many cards to a trick are played. We have to wait for the trick to finish. Thanks.
  4. Might be off topic, but how does one create such movies (like mark.lin), with the wonderful comments etc? Can we use the software we use to play in the Main Bridge Club? Thanks.
  5. I am curious. Who voted for the 'other' option? and what did they have in mind?
  6. I think I will pass. We might get too high if partner does not have spades. At MP's I might double if we weren't vul.
  7. Well, I have a hard time counting out many hands. I guess it is a *good* practise (for people like me) to be active while being the dummy, till we are comfortable enough with our skills in counting.
  8. Yes, the logoff button is a bit annoying. Is it possible to have a 'send me to the main bridge club' button, instead of Cancel, if that is a hard problem?
  9. If you are better than the novices you were playing with, your rating should have gone up when you played with them. If it did not, either your perception that you're better than a novice is wrong, or the rating system was flawed. Well, I was talking about my partners. Opponents would usually be advanced, they were there to improve their rating! I don't know if the rating system was flawed or not, but I did manage to get to intermediate after a while. It was quite furstrating before that. Also, I was an occasional player and that might have had something to do with it.
  10. Hi! This is my first post on this forum. Anyway, about the rating issue, I think intermediate players without regular partners (eg: me) would be most affected by the existence of a rating system. When someone joins, what would be his/her rating? I guess provisional/beginner something like that. I have played on some sites where there was a rating system and I have had a bad experience. I had a tough time even finding partners of the intermediate/advanced level as my rating was beginner. As a result I usually had to play with complete novices and my rating never improved. A catch22 situation. I am just speaking from experience, maybe others have had better experiences. Also, I agree with most others about knowledge of bidding systems not being a measure of the skill level. It is not how large/complex your bidding system is, but how you use it, in addition to your card play. Trumpace.
