  1. ------------------I host a tuesday evining free tournament. My goal is to provide a relaxing, fun tournament where people can meet and enjoy like minded casual bridge players they can 'hook up' with for play at other times. There is usually lots of tournament chat, music links, and good natured fun. Kibitzers are welcome. See last week's email to the group at https://docs.google.com/document/d/147yFgnQ7Pv71Oqy_pjO-wSPH8JcZBVVwuYus_oeA3PE/edit?usp=sharing. Stop by and check us out. ppackr Les, aka Toad
  2. Amen! I suspect too few BBO techs who write code for Directors actually use their work for directing: ergo they have no idea how easy or difficult they make TD/ATD jobs.
  3. I often have this problem at end of tournaments I TD. If I am kibitzing a table that finishes the tournament I may (or may not) be able to kibitz another table. The 'work around' I have found is to log off, then return. I use Firefox for access to BBO.
  4. After 18 months co-managing a private group in weekly tournaments, I am looking for a BBO TD or ATD to restart the group. I do not want to do it solo -- too many things can go wrong. Reward for administration and participation with this group is friendship and appreciation. Rude behaviour is not tolerated, and is quite rare. Group goals are playing with friends and social interaction. BBO TD authority is not required, but some ATD experience is. Weekly tournament management is usually easy: Most everyone knows most everyone else. Day of week and time of day is negotiable. Tournament size is limited to 12 tables, and usually plays 4 to 8 tables. Group coordination is by weekly email. We have a mail manager and participation tracking with 'check back' for those who have not played in a while. New player recruitment seems to be a group commitment: It happens. Interested? Reply here, or email with BBO username to bboppackr@gmail.com ppackr Les
  5. Now that I understand about the "zero views" bug here: I am hosting a weekly 'social/casual' bridge tournament, "Kouch Packers Fenix", currently on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 pm CDT (UTC -6). We play 12 boards generously timed at 8 min/board to allow time for everyone, including kibitzers to chat with each other and with the tournament. Although very casual and NOT serious competition, the event seem very much appreciated by the participants. I need/want an ATD who can 'run the event' sometimes to give me a break or for back up should I be disconnected or unexpectedly unable to get there. Ideally this ATD would be (or become) part of this community. If you are interested, please respond here, or email me at bboppackr@gmail.com. Thanks . . .
