  1. I like to take liberties when in 3 rd hand after 2 passes. Like opening a weak 2 with 5 cards only in majors or a preemp 3 with 6 in a minor. I expect my partner not to criticize me for not following " the book" even a new partner. I would appreciate all comments. No trump opening are regular and I prefer sound openings . I would pass a 11 or 12 pts with more than 6 losers (losing tricks counts)
  2. Thanks very much Lowerline, I thought i had nothing else to learn in bridge .. lol
  3. [hv=n=saq6hakqjdqj10987c&w=skj10987h5432dckqj&e=s5432hd65432c5432&s=sh109876dakca109876]399|300|Contract is 7 HE with CL K opening lead. I nearly threw the cards by rhe window :-)[/hv]
  4. I think Rodwell and his pr used this method in the last tournament. I wonder if it is more useful for weak no-trumps openers or if it's a good method even with standard 15-17 no-trumps. All opinions welcome :-)
  5. I prefer my partner to know my point range (15 to 17) over the fact that I have 5 major with 11 to 17 pts. Especially when playing imps where games are so important to bid. Playing match points I would hesitate....because of the importance of all tricks. besides I am a bit lazy and ! no trump put all the work on pr :-)
  6. I had 6♠ cards with the King. 2♥,3♣ and 2♦ and 3 pts ( King ) in my hand. Partner opens 1♥ , pass I alert and bid 2♠ pass and write weak on opps ask for info. Pr bids 3 nt and makes. THEN I am accused of almost cheating. A director would throw you out in a regular duplicate session, and you would be banned for a year on BBO,,, wow!!!! I' m sure I didn't invent the wjs and that it is used these days even more than the strong Shift. Kingjy1   :) :)
  7. Just an inquiry to have an idea of how many players of any level who use or used to count ` losing tricks count`` in bidding suit contracts. As for my partneship I just want to mention that our bridge game improved a lot after putting this theory in practice (after we adapted it to our praferences). The big starter was that Ron Klinger`s book. (For those who know this book, we forget about half losing tricks and we promote cards in trumps suits) Surely woud appreciate comments, English is not my 1 st language  Kingjy
