  1. Thanks for your inputs, The only thing I learned so far is that "No agreement" is different from "No information available". Fat one. You know what, if i just say "No agreement", I was kicking out too. That guy kicked me out in a ACBL BBO tourney once, when I did nothing wrong and opps was trying to make an issue, and he/she ask I to apologize for nothing, I refused. Here, I was asked to say how many HCP I had. and unfortunately , I don't know how to count that, and have no interest to learn how, so I am out.
  2. I barely write english, and I learn bridge from the Rueful Rabbit and Gavin the Goose, who are living in the virgin forest in Africa. We don't play any SAYC and have no idea what the heck HCP is. and Because of that, I am a criminal.
  3. My own opinion (inevitably biased): 1. "No information available" means nothing to explain for a natural call. One should take it as natural, the only assumption that make sense. 2. why can't you just name HCP range, Notice, I didn't give any unsolicited lecture, I was answering this question. My answer was, and is and will never ever changes: 3. I am required to answer what does 2NT means, following TD's instruction. I did answered that question and will remain the same for the future: FOR JESUS SAKE, CAN I JUST WANNA PLAY 2NT?? 4. No, allow me, please. Thank you but I will never back to play your tourney again anyway. Enjoy and Take care.
  4. The following is the answers from abuse@bridgebase.com I got regarding this issue. Hi Arrows, Actually, part of bridge is that you have to explain your (partner’s) bids when opponents require you to. So when asked to explain your bid, because we use self-alerting in BBO, you need to explain. Furthermore, when TD asks you to explain, you are expected to follow her instruction and do so as well. So yeah, TD wasn’t wrong, sorry to say that you were. BB Abuse
  5. 6. I have been rudely(at least from the point of my view) replaced in a tournment game today, and I don't feel I am treated fairly. If the other party involved think it's fair. what they said and what they did to me is perfectly okey. then I have no problem with it, too. So I would ask whoever in charge here a favor, just let this post be here and serve some educational purpose, showing why I did is wrong and how the game is ruled here at BBO. so that, hopefully for the benefit of everyone else who playing here.
  7. Hi, Thank for your help. I would like to know what does the following mean? and what language is it? "nie pytajcie wiecej" thanks again. ;)
  8. QJxx vs xx C(4, 2)= 4*3/2! = 6 Qxxx vs Jx C(4, 1) = 4 but in the context of this discussion, there's also Jxxx vs Qx therefore , Hx doublton is 4:3 in favor given the suit split 4-2 I believe the right play is lay down King and Ace, it works on any singlton or doublton honors or 3-3 split
  9. I still believe low to Queen is better According to SUITPLAY, the chances of getting 4 tricks by playing low to Q are roughly 4% less than those of playing Ace first. But the chances of East holding Kx are about 6.8%, I believe few of opponents will duck the King smoothly
  10. I might be the only one who want this :P But it would be nice to have it, play rubber game and have individual scores. 4 deals a round and automatically cut for partners, and a little bit more book-keeping, Guess it won't be too troublesome to add it?
  11. Should be the other way around: This convention is most useful BECAUSE you can play secondary jump for game forcing and have many other "free" sequences at your disposal too. For example, with 2♣ starting an invitation sequence, you may reckon that you don't really need 2NT to be natural, let's say you may play 2NT as transfer to 3♣ and thus generate many useful sequences thereafter.....
  12. [hv=d=w&v=n&n=s98hj9754dt6cjt53&w=sq74hqt832dj953c8&e=sat65hdakq84cq976&s=skj32hak6d72cak42]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] This is the full hand. In reality, I called double again, partner bid 4♥ and got hammered -1100 after he miss guessing the spade. I don't really think he should have left the double in with 5 cards in a major. And I believe a disaster like this cannot be fully explained by "luck". So I would have to say that for this hand, double again to 4D is an exaggeration which is easily overlooked. The major drawback of this hand is the shape, strentching with balanced hands is invitation to disasters. Also, the high cards are not solid enough, may result in no winning option for partner at this level. Change a little bit, ♠ KQ32 ♥ AK62 ♦ 2 ♣ AK42 I believe the above hand is a perfect example with which I should make a double to the 4♦ :) .
  13. In a rubber game, let's say it's both white, you opened 1♥ with the following hand: ♠ 94 ♥ AJT872 ♦ J ♣ AKJ6 Your partner responded 2♦ which is natural and game forcing, and your RHO, who never gives you a break, preempt with 3 ♠, what should you do now? And would you make a different choice at all if the score method is IMP team?
  14. Your 1NT bid is no doubt the right thing to do, I think. In today's duplicate brige, one should never pass a opening bid with an ace. And I agree with flytoox, your success is due to opps' mistake. The reason is after 1H pass 1NT pass, 2D pass pass ? , North and South had spade fit by inference, especially this is MP, selling out 2D is just inconceivable.
  15. arrows

    misfit?

I would like to be able to bid 2♣ first, if it's not a game forcing. I don't like 2/1 GF. B)
  16. I suggest the following simple agreement. not intend to be prefect, but try to utilize all the bids available in a sensible way. After 1X pass 1Y ? (X and Y are both suit bid) where most likely X is a minor and Y is a major. 1. double: take out of Y, i.e. if partner bid 2X is natural and intend to play. 2. 1NT: the other two suits, 5-4+, the higher rank suit is longer or equal length. 3. 2X: cuebid also show the other 2 suits, the lower rank suit is longer. 4. 2Y: this is a Natural overcall (against possibly psycho or the responder bid on Jxxx or worse and may steal your major contract). 5. 2N: this is both MINORS. 5-5+ 6. others, natural
  17. What you partner did is perfectly okey if he had no unauthorized information of any kind.
  18. Yeah, I think this is a problem too, When I type some non-English language(BTW, it's Chinese). the char bar will not appear automatically. I think there's simple solution for this. Since I guess everybody use mouses to play the game, why not leave the char bar always active until the user explicitly close it. (Right now it is closed automatically when user hit the [return] key), so that whatever the user types goes into the chat bar.
  19. ♠ KJ32 ♥ AK6 ♦ 72 ♣ AK42 IMP game, unfavorable vulnerability. Your RHO opened a third seat 1♦, you called double of course, LHO leaped to 3♦, which is described "preemptive", parnter passed. RHO bid 4♦ after giving the matter a serious thought. You were thinking about if 3♦ passed to you, you would double again, or wouldn't you? And what is your call now?
  20. first I have to admit that I cannot understand declarer's play. Anyway, right now, the declarer must have ♠K, otherwise you don't need to bother anything at all. and must not have ♠J, or you already dead meat. The choice is between a harmless small heart and aggressive ♦J ♦J is good in that it forces declarer make a decision which he wants to put off. But he may think that with ♦K offside, there's no much chance anyway... Thus I will go with the legitimate chance, i.e. declarer has no diamond and cannot make his contract by a finesse. In this case, south must exit with a small hearts.. declarer will cash both red winner before going back to his hand and run clubs, but south can guard both singlton menace and his partner can guard spades.
  21. I guess the following will do the trick: click your name -> friend/enemies -> uncheck the "notify me when a friend logs in"
  22. The system is assumed SAYC and common sense bidding.
  23. IMP team, Both Vul holding ♠ K5 ♥ 8754 ♦ AJT95 ♣ 76 Partner open 1♠, RHO overcall 2♦, you pass and pray partner will reopen a double, but he reopens 2♥. What is your bid now?
  24. 1. automatically playing a singlton makes little sense, since the tempo change significantly when it is turned on and you have singlton to play, hence may give out the information opps are not entitled for. The only cards should be played automatically are the cards of last trick. and I am surprised this is not implemented 2. I really hate the idea that reorder the cards after the auction. many times, I think I clicked the card I want to lead, but Alas, cards are rearranged, I make a stupid again :( I think it is only make sense to automatically reorder the cards of dummy...
  25. As I understand, you are saying this method gets banned because it has too much merits to be tolerated by those mediocres. This is self-proven why bridge is a game for nuts. Not only you have to provide defense against your own methods, but also effective methods are not allowed! Jesus. And yet another example is wilkosz 2♦
