  1. Excusing please, what langwidge is dis one post? I went to yrf College in Oxford, but understanding nothing of dis one. Ulrich is 100% bid 4C on dieses Hand.
  2. Ban old people and women, it's agreed :P And ban ladyboys. :D
  3. I having weird posting history? Vot about you? You coming back and posting as many different people and now as ladyboy. Vun last comment regarding dis biddink. When Liechtenstein playing Netherlands, I wuz playing with Zwackelman - nummer 2 in Liechtenstein, (by long way after me). I can't remember name of Dutch player, but I know his job - he drives buses, because everyone call him Bus Driver. He bid 2D in this same bidding, and he not have extra. After smashing Dutchies in this match we smashing USA. Funny, have same sequence (1C) 1S (X) (P) (2D) Rodwall bidding 2D here and he have 18 points! Oh waiting one moment plz, him playing Precision. Not same I guessink?
  4. PhantomSac, they telling me you are Ladyboy, ist dis true?
  5. Vat dis Mike talking about? I understanding nuttink! He is saying extra is good and not extra is god. I thinking his name is Mike Sitting. - Sitting on defence. Again I showing dieses hand to nummer 2 and nummer 3 in Liechtenstein. 2D = nuzzink extra, 3D is extras in Liechtenstein
  6. Amazing for me that this is not unanimous either - a unanimous vote for NOT PASSING. You biddink 2NT and you having chance to land on feet. Opponents not double yet. You passing and is likely opps make. Maybe pd have void S, now your S tricks shrinking to one. I show this hand to number two and number three player in Liechtenstein - Petrosilius Zwackelman and Rauber Hotzenplotz. Bid is automatic they say. I laffink at post say partner may have A or J. You play against idioten?
  7. In der Duchy of der Lichtenstein we ist taking der silk purses and making sows ears out of them so that horses can be drinking when led to the water. With consequencing der postings from der Rexfords and der Hamdis ist making der big sense and glstening like der gold in der mud. Ulrich, Freiherr von Lichtenstein.
  8. Softly softly catchee monkey. Ich bidden der 1S und wait to see.
  9. 4S against good players - dis ist cheapen sacrifice. Pass against nicht gutens who will let me playing dis wun.
  10. O ja, dieses bidden ist 100% forsen to der gamen.
  11. I held the following AJxxx x xx AKxxx and opened 1C. Next hand bid 4H and this came back to me. I passed - too dangerous to bid 4S vul against not. The result, 4H making and at the other table 5HX 1 down after the bidding had gone 1S (4H) 4S (5H) X. My partner held QTxxx xx xxxx Qx. He cant bid over 4H. My team thinks I should have opened 1S. What is standard now?
  12. The bidding, playing 2/1, with the 3H bid showing a strong hand. (1H) P (2C) P (2H) P (3H) P (3S) P (4C) P (4H) P (6H) Your hand S KQx H AQx D xxxx C xxx
  13. Well, pd correctly pointed out that even if he had the "magic" hand Kxx Kxxx Qx KQJx Ax Axxx AKx Axxx With 9 prime controls there are only 11 top tricks and 12 ONLY if H break 3-2. He also pointed out that there are many hands on which a 4 bid is quite normal, as on the hand he had for exampleand on which he won't hold that magic hand. On many of these the 5 level will be in danger. I have come around to his way of thinking. He thinks a 3H bid on that hand is masterminding after the auction, particularly at IMPs, but he can live with a gf 2NT.
  14. I held Kxx Kxxx Qx KQJx Pd opens 1C I bid 1H Pd bids 4H I bid 5C as I have 14 points opposite pd's strong bid. Pd bids 5H and we are -1 as partner's trump suit is xxxx. He has his bid, but he is not sympathetic and we lose on the hand. He said he almost bid 6 as his hand was so good. Pd has AQ xxxx AKJ Axxx Can we avoid this?
  15. Ah the fickleness of the young and inexperienced! You ask a question and expect a response; you don't like the answer; you dummy the spit. I regard this overcall as totally unsound and find it hard to believe that anyone suggesting it could even remotely be called an eggspurt. If you wish a method of competing more ofte, I suggest 1N to show a weak takeout - about 9-11 shapely and X to show the stronger takeout; this at least has merit and has been played by strong players internationally. Ulrich Freiherr von Liechtenstein.
  16. Mauro, I think the Hog knows a little about this but I will try. There are a number of different methods. Pretty much standard is 4th highest and overlead. Low from xx Middle from Hxx and top from xxx A number of Polish experts decided this was ambiguous - Combine leads is the result Low from xx Top from 4 small - or second highest if top might cost a trick Third and fifth from an honor These are used in the middle game as well.
  17. Ha! Ulrich finds the 5D bid. And yes your partner bid like a pusillanimous cretin!
  18. Normal 1N response, unless you play Acol style that 1C 1N = 8-10. Then you bid 1D on this hand. Wtp?
  19. Last night I had AK AKQ QTxxxx xx and my partner had xxx xxx AKx xxxx I opened 1D, my partner said 1NT and I bid 3NT. The opponents took the first five club tricks. My partner said I should have bid 3D and we would have got to 5D, but I was taught that my D suit had to be better to bid 3D. Were we just unlucky or can anyone help us get to 5D?
  20. Clausie, An Acol 1NT does not contain a 4 card Major? Gadzooks! My good friends Terrence, Boris, Adam and the Sharples twins would roll over in their graves. Last time I played with Boris we played Ulrich Acol, where the 1NT has to have 3, count them, 4 card Majors. Sincerely Graf Freiherr von und zu Ulrich von Lichtenstein.
  21. Ha! Hoggie. You are totally correct in your comments; perhaps there is hope for you after all. Anyone who opens this hand with 1D has no idea about bidding! Ulrich von Liechtenstein PSPEM
  22. Claus, the key to good bidding is that the hand THAT NEEDS TO KNOW is he captain. That MAY OR MAY NOT be the strong C opener. As Misho has already pointed out, and as Richard has already pointed out, there are ways and means of organising this in the auction. In any well designed system, you can show and you can tell, (reminds me of primary school in Liechtenstein). You are far too dogmatic in your views and should read and learn from posts here. Ulrich von Liechtenstein
  23. "I dont understand a word of it. What is the purpose of ZAR points? (in 10 words please)" Claus, Zar points is a method of hand evaluation that has nothing to do with computers. (15 words, but who is counting.) Incidentally they are nowhere near as effective as the Ulrich hand evaluation engine, (but then what is?) Sincerely, Ulrich of Lichtenstein PSPEM (President of the Society for the Preservation of European Monarchies.)
  24. Ah Hog, Hog. So near and yet sooooooooooo far. Is there any hope for you if you only recognise the correct play as the cards are returned to the board? The above poster has made some assumptions and I will echo these. Nice line, perhaps "subjective" you are free for the Lichtenstein Open Teams championships? C are 6-1 No QJ of Ds HQ off side May I perhaps suggest a slight improvement to his line. Win the K of C and play a D to the Q. I assume this holds, now play another D. Say rho wins this with the J of D. His best return is a S. Win the K, not the A. Cross to the SQ and play a third D discarding the A. Isn't it nice to be flamboyant? This is why you won the second S with the K. Now spread your cards with a flourish and suggest that rho exit with the Q of Hearts. This is mildly flamboyant and as good as anything else. I will not accept your offer of a beer - this is too crude for noble palates. However a bottle of La Tache from the Domaine Romanee Conti, preferably 1949, will not go astray. Sincerely, Ulrich of Lichtenstein PSPEM (President of the Society for the Preservation of European Monarchies.)
