i dont think this will go all pass... I mean, they dont want what we want. I would have to have a serious hand to pass 1 [C] X if declarer...
-
I'd 1NT seriously.. and im a junior :P
-
I also play kookish like Ben. But the other day something came up, i had ♠ x ♥ ATx ♦ QJx ♣AKxxxx and the response to 2♣ was the 1 in 1million 2♥ (4-4-4-1). I didnt know what to do since i wanted 3nt to be declared from his side. Or maybe play 4 ♥. We now have a scheme for this sequence.

Thanks for the replies. The actual hand was ♠A ♥KJTxxxxx ♦ xx ♣Kx. Wait no, i think that's the one i dreamed, the actual was ♠AQ ♥KJTxxxxx ♦xx ♣x.hmmm or was it ♠AQx ♥KJTxxxxx ♦x ♣x..... no that's from a reply. AHH! ♠ Ax ♥KJTxxxxx ♦x ♣KQ :) well done non diamonds :)

This reminds me of a hand i played this year in the Junior Euro in Jesolo: [hv=d=w&v=b&n=saj8h98dakq64cj72&w=s7hqjt7dt92ckqt85&e=skq95h6543dj753ca&s=st6432hak2d8c9643]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The auction was identic , i doubled and my p passed. I thought that being a passed hand the double wouldn't stay that much of a time. Wrong.

TY very much Rob :( -
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could make a simulation on the following: South: ♠JT93 ♥J432 ♦4 ♣Q874 North: Balanced-semibalanced 15-17 , NO 5 cards MAJOR, NO 4♠ - 5♣. Any other 5-4-2-2 , 6-3-2-2 , 5-3-3-2, 4-4-3-2, 4-3-3-3. I want to know if its best to pass or bid 2 ♣ and over 2♦ , 2♥ pass correct. I already did a simulation but i dont have double dummy results and couldnt restrict the north hand as above :( Tks

Very nice! Ive shown it to my friends who dont even play bridge and they loved it too, making one thousand questions :)
-
I play it as a good 11-14's 6-5 or 6-6. Over 1 ♠ , 4♣♦♥the same. but dont know what is standard.
-
Wow grosvenor: someone to play the 9 with Q9x :P
-
Maybe you are not looking properly at the hand or the bidding. Anyway the lead was a pretty normal ♠jack, won in hand with the queen. I dont understand your analysis at all.

-
sry, ♦ 10 was with partner. i said that pass seemed right afterwards, but i really like 2nt now.
-
I went way overboard here, bidding 2♦.... Pass really seems right now :P [hv=n=sj2hajxxdxxckq1064&w=sq109876hxxxdjcxxx&e=s5h10853dakqxcaj92&s=sak43hkqd987432c7]399|300|[/hv]

♠AK43 ♥KQ ♦987432 ♣7 IMps Vul ALL , Dealer North. your are sitting south, north opens 1♣, natural, 1♦ on your right and you bid 1♠. Pass on your left, 2♣ from partner, pass on your right. your bid?

It's a little hard to construct hands where you dont have a spade or club cue,or, it would be rare ,but ok, i think its possible. From the technical point, ill be loosing some when they do lead a diamond and they do get a ruff, but i think i'll bid my slams a little more accuratly, with 6 RKB and usually knowing where the slam will play best.
-
I like to play 4♦ showing double-fit... it would suit this hand fine since we don't even have a club cue. Even if 4!d wasn't discussed, could it be anything else?
-
Cash the ace of diamonds, and play a spade up. If East discards a club, K of diams and endplay in club. If a heart, hearts are good. Finally if East discards a diamond , play the jack of diamonds to produce a sort of entryshifting postion ( if E discards a heart, hearts are good, if a club, win in hand and endplay with a club.)

I'm having a discussion in a local forum about this hand. It's double vs 4 ♥ . Im bidding 4♥ for most of the reasons already mentioned. Partner had xxx Kx AKxxx Qxx and passed 4 ♥ . Doesn't 4 ♥ show something simillar to a strong 2 in ♥? Shouldn't partner make a move?
-
AJ AQ10xxxxxx ---- Kx Teams, love all, (1:s) - pass - (pass) - à vous.
-
Assuming K♣ is on it's quite simple i think: Cash all spades finessing the queen, then cash evrything but the clubs, finishing in your hand. ♣AQ10 in dummy and ♥6 ♦ 6 ♣7 in hand will be the finalle for a double squeeze.
