  1. It would be a shame if BBO organized itself around that kind of philosophy. A "tournament countdown timer." visible to all at the table -- would more than suffice.
  2. Sorry, I was referring to BBO's method.
  3. If it's not a secret, what is the process for determining or dealing goulash deals? Thanks.
  4. Sorry Clause - I disagree - aotoplay singletons is a DEAD giveaway that the card IS a singleton :( and sometimes I don't want opp to KNOW that ... and you shouldn't ever let your partner know.
  5. Unacceptable and restricted acc. to BBO rules for decent behavior. Leaving a table in the middle of a game is a major offence acc. to rules. No mercy for the rude people will be the message. OK, consider delaying zip-off to tournaments until the end of the hand (or being dummy.) It's not like the first few seconds of a tournament are that productive, what with all the TD's screaming at the top of their keyboards. (yes, this could have problems, too.)
  6. thanks for the tip on list management, and for the other comments. What I really was hoping for is an implementation of "Deuces Wild." :D
  7. Of course, I very much appreciate BBO. Having said that: 1: Skip Bids. Let's put an 8-second hold on the next bid, or at least the appearance of one. 2: Autoplay of Singletons. need to add a bit of randomness, because it's quite apparent what's going on now, even to partner. 3: Status adjustments of departed players. The departure of a player is often when one realizes she's a not-so-nice person. and when the player's handle goes red on the chat screen, there goes the ability to adjust her status. Unfortunate. 3a: Blacklisting! If my friends have found a person to be unacceptable, it would be great if my status of that person changed automatically. Perhaps blacklist / friend lists could be created for groups, which one could join. 4: As indicated elsewhere, perhaps all of us have felt abused by players who have left for a tournament. How about an indicator on the player name bar (or whatever you call it) for players who have signed up for a tournament? 5: Some way to change the scoring format of a table when the score is reset would be nice. Right now, the way to change a table's scoring method is to abandon it. :-( 6: It would be nice to know who's declining claims. (of course all my claims are valid -- except for the ones that aren't.) 7: How about permitting illegal actions? One of the joys in FTF bridge is accepting insufficient bids. OK, maybe not this. Whew!
  8. Just my two cents: Instead of attempting to control the behavior of people who have signed up for a tournament, just assign a symbol to that player's ID, so people will know in advance that the player is going to zip out. Then the table can decide what to do.
