If you play 2♣ as Gazzilli as you implied then of course that changes the definition of 2♥ significantly. But in the standard context being discussed here, you have no alternative - with the shape you mentioned you're never going to find your heart fit with any other rebid anyway, which is why responder must raise with the upper half.
-
Only duplicate hands are saved - are you perhaps playing as Total Points?
-
They're wrong; they are random.

I think its pretty safe to say the overvue / unreported matches won't have an effect on the top 4. Congrats to the semifinalists, the only four to average over 9 per match. cherdano vs shuba sfi vs Stephen Tu

A link is needed for my script to work. You can get the link on a mobile in exactly the same place as on a PC, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is? Have found one of the links for you: http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:2b4ebd2a.c644.11eb.b879.0cc47a39aeb4-1622928165&u=Xbabarx

8 card suit - weak?
smerriman replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I would bid 3♣, natural + invitational. If you don't have that available, then there's not much else you can do. -

Yes, that would certainly help. The close button shows perfectly fine for me in Edge for popup results of tournaments.

Overcall at the 5 or 6 level? nz teams
smerriman replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Suppose West had the diamond K instead of the J. 6♥ gives them an easy 6♠ bid.. are they finding slam over 5♥? 6♥ works well when the opponents are taking exactly 11 tricks, but that seems a small window to aim for. -
how high? (nz teams)
smerriman replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Side point - what would you bid if there were no double, and you played 3♥ as a limit raise? -
We've reached the deadline for round 1 - it looks like three of the remaining four matches have been played, just not reported, so I'll add them in here: http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:f7421c0c.bace.11eb.bd23.0cc47a39aeb4-1621668363&u=heart76 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:c26fd6d4.b8c0.11eb.bd23.0cc47a39aeb4-1621442360&u=Natali_ http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:4a6d2160.b3d4.11eb.bd23.0cc47a39aeb4-1620900992&u=hrothgar That just leaves Povratnik vs sep123, so please catch up on that one.* Everyone is now free to challenge anyone else. While several matches have already been played, in fairness to those who prefer a slower pace, the deadline for round 2 will still be set based on the maximum of number of challenges - June 13, 11:59pm EST*. The top 4 overall will then play off as usual. [edit] * obviously, if BBO remains down for an extended period, these aren't locked in stone :)

Yep, looking back at previous discussions, bidding tables only support basic bots (which are free there, regardless of whether you have a prime subscription or not). As opposed to teaching tables, which use the ones you have paid for. So there is no such thing as a 'prime bidding table'.
-
Interesting. In that case, perhaps there's no such thing as a 'prime bidding table'. I don't actually see this listed in the prime features at all, and after all, bidding tables are available to everyone for free (with no option to put advanced robots in them).
-
It's not related to the table type. Advanced robots (unlike basic bots) run simulations during the bidding to decide whether to deviate from the book bid. Outside of a tournament setting, these simulations will differ each time the hand is played. So they may bid the hand differently each time you give it to them.

transfer after opponents overcall
smerriman replied to maris oren's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Even when playing lebensohl, over a 2♣ overcall you can play double as Stayman and 2♦ as a normal transfer to hearts. -

So sweet - NZ teams
smerriman replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Perhaps. But even with a different range of doubles, when one of cue / leb-cue can show a GF with 4 hearts, and you have the option to bid 4♥ with 5 hearts, giving up heart invites still seems odd to me. Either way, even if it's a good idea, I still wouldn't call it 'traditional'. -

Um, how exactly can 3♥ be GF as a passed hand? (And even if you weren't a passed hand, 3♥ isn't GF in any form of lebensohl I've ever heard of..) I would treat that as a long minor (or some source of 9 tricks with a stopper) rather than showing a strong balanced hand. -

If you run it from a command prompt, type in your input, and then press Ctrl-Z and hit enter, it will work in terms of generating deals. But the actual double dummy analysis requires you have to have a bridge.exe executable working on your computer (which is the GIB software). An alternative to waiting to see if BBO will restore the working version (I would guess unlikely) is http://bcalc.w8.pl/ - this has a free command line double dummy solver. To run sims I normally generate deals with BBO's dealer, then pass the resulting hands to this to run locally. (Though this does mean I use a little script of my own to tally the results depending on what I'm looking for).

Yes and no - my point was that you *always* have better alternatives when holding a (semi)balanced hand, which why the only thing left for 3NT is a long running minor. -

Would strongly disagree with this :)
