  1. Hi all, there are two standards for responder bidding no trump over a 1♣/1♦ opener. Thus: #1 1N = 6-12 hcp 2N = 13-15 hcp 3N = 16,17 hcp and #2 1N = 6-9 hcp 2N = 10-12 hcp 3N = 13-15 hcp Both schemas deny a four-card major by the responder. Some players appear to use #1 and others #2. I prefer #1 because with the declared shortage in the majors you need the higher hcp to ensure that you at least have a stopper or two. My reasoning may be flawed. If so please point out what the correct considerations should. Apologies if this has been addressed before.
  2. I have sent the following report to BBO: Dear Sirs/Madam, Wyman gave me a rude answer. I asked him to kindly stop posting in my thread. He said he would post as he wished and threatened I would have a short tenure on this forum. He then derided me by saying my post should be moved to the no0b forum. I said he was cyberstalking and I would contact you and he mocked this. Please resolve this situation. Yours, vodkagirl
  3. You are a known troll. Please do not post in any thread I create. I will contact BBO if you post in this thead again. You are cyberstalking me.
  4. I have no problem with criticism. What Wyman wrote was akin to telling a debtor was asks for advice not to have gone into debt in the first place.
  5. You are a known troll. Please do not post in any of my threads again. Many thanks. Also sent this message to you via your name so you do not miss it.
  6. Auction not rendered correctly it went: 1♠-2♥-3♥-4N-5♠-P.
  7. Hi guys, In a uncontested auction, the bidding went 1♠-1♥-2♥-4N-5♠-Pass. Basically, I realized my 4N had been optimistic and 6♥ is not making as we have not enough keycards. I cannot even get to 5♥. I decide to pass figuring this limits the damage, ie, 5♠ loses fewer tricks than 6♥. If opponents had doubled then I am retreating to 5N which partner would realize was not a King Ask. Partner and I had no agreement in this situation. What do you suggest as a way of parachuting out of RKB when you know a small slam is not making?
  8. Hi guys, I am thinking of playing short club. So whenever I open 1D I will always be four cards. However, my 1C could be as little as 2 cards. I also know that some 2/1 players do not play 2/1 over a 1C opening. Is there any connection between the short club and this 2/1 tendency? If not then what is the reason that 2/1 players do not play 2/1 over 1C openers.
  9. Hi guys, Where do Walsh Relays end up? Do you end up in a slam in the suit that responder has shown or do you end up in 6N as a rule? For those of you who do not play Walsh Relays please see. I am thinking of taking them up but it is a lot of work for my memory and they still seem to wrong side the contract. Is their only advantage that they are more precise than the methods currently employed in SAYC? Your thoughts much appreciated.
  10. Hi guys, Theoretical question: What is the rebid when an opener does not have a stopper for a Western Cue bid? Let us say auction goes: 1H 2S p 3S What does opener rebid? It seems to me that is nearly always better minor.
  11. Let us say, partenr shows a useful void with 5N. I am jumping to 7 in our suit? or am I staying at 6 if I can't account for the trump Queen?
  12. Playing Roman Keycard Blackwood, after 4N, 5N shows 2/4 keycards and an unspecified useful void. Questions: 1. Is a "useful" void a suit that we have not bid? 2. How do I discover what the void is? I have been going thru some of the online material and these two questions do not seem to be answered by it.
