Advanced Robot tournament Exported Hand Explain trick 6, I challenge you.

[hv=pc=n&s=saqt96ha8daqj72cq&n=sk8hqj94dkt6c9532&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=ppp1sp1np3dp3h]266|200|3H described as 5+ Hearts 2- Spades 6-11 HCP forcing to 3nt[/hv] Given that description I opted for 4h due to the club weakness. Poor choice, I get that the robot might be stuck, but could we at least change the description to match reality, 4+ hearts 2- spades?

Export [hv=pc=n&s=sq763hakqjdj6c832&n=st8ht9872d3cakqj5&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=1c3d4dp4hp5cppp]266|200[/hv] The 4♥ bid is described as 4♥s 3+♣s yet somehow we have to play in clubs. This might be a simple fix, just change the definition of 4♦s from Cue bid -- 13+ total points; forcing to 4♠s, to Cue bid -- 13+ total points; forcing to 4♥s

Added a new view that lets you see the system in depth, in a printable fashion with variable depth and the ability to filter to specific bids, still a work in progress and it is kinda slow at higher depths. Small snippet of an example 1♣: 16+ any Shape, 17+ Balanced 1♦: 0-8, any shape 1♥: 4+ Hearts, may have longer Minor, Forcing 1♠: 0-8 Points 4+ Spades 1N: 0-5 points, less than 4 hearts, less than 4 spades 2♣: 5-8, 0-2 Hearts, not 5 spades 2♦: 5-8, 3 Hearts 2♥: 0-5 4+ hearts 2♠: 5+ spade, 5-8 hcp 2N: 4+ hearts, 4-6 points, no singleton 3♣: 7-8 HCP, 6+ Clubs 3♦: 7-8 HCP, 6+ Diamonds 3♥: 7-8 HCP, 4 Hearts 3♠: 7-8 HCP, spade Splinter, 4 hearts 3N: 7-8 HCP, 5+ Hearts 4♣: 7-8 HCP, Club Splinter, 4 Hearts 4♦: 7-8 HCP, Diamond Splinter, 4 Hearts 4♥: 0-4 HCP, 5 Hearts 1♠: 4+ Spades, may have longer Minor, Forcing 1N: 0-5, less than 4 spades 2♣: 5-8, 0-2 spades, less than 5 hearts 2♦: 5-8, 3 spades 2N: 5-8, 4+ spades, no singleton 1N: 17-19 Balanced 2♣: Stayman 2♦: 5+ Hearts, transfer 2♥: 5+ Spades, Transfer 4♦: 6+ Hearts, Texas Transfer 4♥: 6+ Spades, Texas Transfer

I have doubts that "Alert! ... I don't know" can construed as the correct information. It isn't as if she withdrew the alert after thinking about.
-
Sorry for the late reply, was out of town. Had the bid not been alerted, the auction would have proceeded to a makeable 3nt, given the belief it was some sort of unknown artificial bid, we proceeded to a spade contract. The director was called at the conclusion of the hand and ruled the result stands(4S failed when the overcaller had 2 natural trump tricks). The director pointed out we should have called when the non explanation was given and he would have instructed east to depart the table so west could give an explanation of the bid. I was not aware that this is the recommended procedure when there is an alert given but not explained.

[hv=pc=n&s=sakjt862htda64caq&d=s&v=0&b=11&a=1c(16%2B%20Any%20shape)1s(Alerted%2C%20asked%2C%20after%202%20minutes%20of%20thought%2C%20east%20said%20unsure%2C%20cards%20not%20marked%20with%20relevent%20info)2h(5%2B%20Hearts%2C%20game%20forcing)p2sp3cp3sp4cp4sppp]133|200[/hv] The 1 spade bid was alerted and after 2 minutes of thought, she said she doesn't know what it shows. Bid turned out to be natural, any redress available given the false alert? Edit: Jurisdiction - ACBL

What am I missing, France has a very high gun ownership rate. 31 guns for every 100 individuals, not quite up there with the 112 guns per 100 individuals that the US has, but still not exactly a poster child for effective gun control.

Thanks! As for the quiz filter, each bid has a 'quiz filter' number. The bid can show up as a valid answer so long as it's quiz filter number is equal to or higher than the filter set for the quiz. As the filter starts at 1, any bid that has a value of 0 can't show up as a correct answer(bids below the quiz filter can show up as an incorrect answer) Will add some text to explain it.

Sorry about the background color, just to be sure we are seeing the same thing, it is just a lightish blue right? You can quickly look up any meaning of any bid entered and easily edit them if it is entered wrong(with permission to the system) I fixed the bid in question, at least I fixed it to 18-19 balanced
-
I created a website for bid systems. The website can format your system in several different ways, including exports to word, excel and is view able on the web anywhere on any device(I think). It also includes a quiz to test yourself on the meaning of bids. If you want to add a new system, you can set it private, limiting who can view it, or make it public. It is quick and easy to add and edit bids and you can now clone an existing system when creating a new one! http://systemsbridge.azurewebsites.net/

Bridge frustration
dwar0123 replied to eagles123's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Why does it bother you, people are allowed not to claim, 99* times out of a 100 when an opponent isn't claiming it is because they don't see the claim or they are reluctant to try and explain it, either because they suspect the opponent won't see it easily (probably not in your case!) or because they might trip up the explanation and some people exploit that. The 1 time out of a 100 when you might be right, no disrespect, but you're not a mind reader, you don't know why they are not claiming. *These numbers are made up. -
Can you see your way home Imps Opponents playing UD count/attitude [hv=pc=n&s=sakqj2hjt832d4c62&n=s743h6dqjt52cak94&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1sp1n2d2hp3sp4sppp&p=d8dtdkd4s8sqs5s3hjh4h6hqs6sas9s4h2h5s7h7dqdasjd3skc5]399|300[/hv] Sorry for the crappy title - post entered before I was ready.

Hi Diana, not sure a three year old best picture Oscar winner qualifies as obscure. :)

That is a different scenario than a private institution deciding to purchase treasury bonds rather than invest more directly in the economy. The government doesn't lose money when demand increases for bonds, it saves money due to being able to lower the interest rates. Of course making up for a shortfall in revenue with debt is doubly painful but this wasn't the scenario I intended my reply to be about.
