I started this in another thread, but the title was misleading because it occurs in different browsers and different operating systems with the web client. Symptom: After playing a series of hands, and revisiting them to see how others played them, sometimes, it is not possible to select the other table's results to see how they bid or played. Double-clicking (or lh mouse) does not show the detail of the selected table but keeps showing my results instead (see screenshot). http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/834/sxn.gif/ New symptom: My partner had the same problem today while we were online together today. He could access some hands that other's had played. But not all. These 6nt hands couldn't be accessed by either of us. However, it appeared to be the case that there were other hands that he could access, that I couldn't. Symptom: After logging off, and logging on again I can access all the hands. Windows (different versions). Browsers IE9, IE10, Firefox, Chrome. Link to old thread (which can be closed) 'cos I can't change the misleading title.

Wrong. But it doesn't help the problem described in this thread. Maybe you should open a new thread if you think that's broken :)

Yahoo... it happened again so I can try this out 1. kibbed 2. joined table and played. 3. left table. 4. reviewed results ===> Can't select the other results hands Tried the URL in another browser to see if I can access the other hands there. Problem is I don't know the names of the players who played on the other tables so I can't search for their results or correlate them to the hands I played :( I did find one hand under "other Tables" that did reveal other names (fuelfil, syto, azuka, guenni52) and I can now search for their hands (works) but I don't know if they played the hands that I played. Is there anyway to find the unique ID of a hand I played and search for those that played it in public clubs?
-
@Ben. This was a Public Club. @Barmar, that's a great help pinpointing. Next time I run into the problem I'll try that link from a different browser session and see if the hand can be accessed. You're right about the hands I'd played. In particular I wanted to see how others had bid to 6!h while we stopped in 5!c. (Hand 11)Clicking on the 6!h hands caused my 5!c hand to flash but the display stubbornly refused to show the 6!h bidding or play.

The problem won't go away. I usually play in chrome but the problem also occurs in firefox. It feels as if when I click on one of the "other results" hands, and for whatever reason no response comes back, then I can keep retrying until the cows come home without the hand refreshing. It's just possible that it only occurs if a Ieave a table I've been playing in for some time and then go back to try and look at how others have bid. When I log off and log on again I can access the hand. Anything I can do to help pinpoint what's causing it? Alan

Does anyone know how to change the width of the results column on the BBO iPad app so that you can see the trick deficit/excess? Screenshot here (workaround is to rotate the ipad 90 degrees but that's a bit annoying)

A new symptom... I was director (subbing) of a team match today, which I played in. Afterwards I could not replay hands 2 and 3 (from 8) even though they displayed in the list. Nevertheless I did save all the hands and then one at a time sent them to the real organizer. The weird think is that although I selected "save all" it skipped two of the hands. The same two that I couldn't replay. Unfortunately I cannot work out how to recover the hands played in this team match (I guess 'cos I was director). Alan

Played in a team match today. Now I can view: Hands 4-8 ok (same for the other pair's results). I.e. clicking on a hand displays it in the bottom right.Hand 1-3 won't update the hand display at the bottom (same when I switch to review the other pair's results). BTW: First time I've played in a team match. Even more fun that the beginners tourneys. Shout out THANKS to Beginners Intermediates Lounge (BIL) http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif BTW: Workaround.. Go to "My BBO" and revisit the hands from there... Duh!

Tried firefox (latest release) today. Good news: It didn't abend. Bad news: That replay problem occurs in firefox, too. I played 9 hands in the relaxed club-> left the table -> scrutinized my played hands to work out what to do better... but I couldn't see how the others had played their hands.

I was in BILlies retreat (in the public clubs). Firefox used to be unstable for bbo but perhaps I'll give it another go.

It happened again today. (Not sure what MBC is) This time I hadn't played in a tourney but at a table with friends (no other table). Browser Chrome: 26.0.1410.64 m I'd left the table, gone back to home, but hadn't left results tab. "My table" shows we played 10 hands (list displays 9, scroll down to 10th) Select 10th hand, tab to "other results" -> my table is highlighted. 4 tables above ours, 5 displayed below and 6 below them out of view (scroll down to seem them) When I click on any of the other tables in the list nothing happens - the exception being when I click on our table then north glows for a second. Same behaviour now with all other hands we played. But while we were playing I could click on the other tables to compare results/bidding/playing.
-
Not quite because I can't look at the results while the tourney is in progress. It happened after I was playing hands with friends and then tried to look at how others had played hands in the earlier tourney. I'll keep my eye on it and report if it happens again.

I am using chrome 26..0.1410.64.The flash player (11) just updated. And win 8, too.It happens when the played hand is displayed to the right of the table I'm playing. I don't think the problem occurs when I look at old hands from the "My BBO" Popup pane. Anything I can do to help capture the situation if the problem occurs again?E.g browser tools--> developer?

>>> when I inspect the list of other tables' results but I cannot select one of their results to see how that table bid and played. Had that problem in chrome in Windows 8 today (desktop mode).

BBO Mobile App Version 3.60 Comments Thread

Simply awesome!!! Reviewing played-hands on your iPad/android tablet is what sofas were invented for!!! Thanks to the 3.60 update my sofa (and iPad) get a serious upgrade in value. Hoping my bridge improves, too http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif Alan -
In IE10 desktop mode bbo works fine (except for one small sporadic skip problem I reported elsewhere) Maybe the Flash in Metro mode is different, seeing as that wasn't supported by MSFT until very recently, Alan
-
It's sporadic. I have a screenshot showing the Situation. In this case I can select other tables that bid the same suit as I did (!h) but not the other tables (!c or NT). Other Problems with IE10 are that sometimes you have to click-down, but move the mouse away from the menu/tab before releasing in order for the item to be selected. Workaround: Chrome works very well in Win 8. And having touch on a large screen is definitely an advantage.
-
Using IE10 in full Screen Mode on Windows 8 will let me look at and replay my previous results. But when I inspect the list of other tables' results but I cannot select one of their results to see how that table bid and played. I don't have that problem when I use Firefox or chrome.

BBO Mobile App Version 3.50 Comments Thread

Wonderful Fred, That's exactly the order of preference that I had. Reviewing your hands after a tournament or friendly from the comfort of a sofa would be just perfect. Alan -
BBO Mobile App Version 3.50 Comments Thread

Hi Fred,I love ♥ the iPad version. Even though I don't trust my fingers and touch for a tournament it's great for practicing. What I miss most is the ability to review past games I've played (in web through "my BBO".) It's strange this isn't available because the complex part (reviewing my results or their results) is available if they've just been played (eg practicing anonymously.) The other thing I miss is being able to start a practice table (bidding with a partner) after I've logged in.Alan. -
Is it just me?In the Web Version (IE10 on Windows 8) when play out the hands trick by trick it skips every second trick.the same when I press the single back arrow. It seems to happen after I try to play another tables hands (other results) Btw I'd. Really like to check this on the iPad but its not possible to review old hands on that. A feature I sorely miss. All the best,Alan

Hi Uday,Since i join The table using take-me-to any-table my guess is that before my browser has even noticed the time-out someone else will have taken my place. So there's not much that can be done to improve that aspect. But a take-me-back-to-table or even a take me to table #nn would be cool, even if I can only join as a kibitzer.Alan

Hi, When I use the Bbo iPad app to play I tend to lose the connection after 15 minutes or so. Symptom: play appears to stop and then after a few minutes I'm returned to the login screen. Is there any way I can return to the table I was on previously so that I can kibbitz the outcome of the hand?Is there a way of seeing that the connection is in trouble before the app gives up retrying and sends me to the login screen? Alan

Hi eagles123, I have to correct what I'd written earlier. There are BIL tables for intermediates but there are also tables for true beginners. They also offer lessons and practice sessions where it is the norm (in the beginners tables) to take back moves and ask for advice. You can try it for about a month without paying and from then it costs 20-30$ a year depending on what you want. 20 gives you what you need as a beginner. I tried it, and yesterday after about 3 weeks BIL was brave enough to take part in my first beginners tournament. My pulse is still racing but it was a lot of fun and I wish I joined years ago when I first registered for BBO Try it,Alan.
