  1. False alarm. Scrolling is possible. I must have been in a view graph view.I really like to way you can switch to the other table in a match. Perfect :)
  2. Sorry, Fred, #2 I wouldn't call it a bug, but on the iPad 3 and other iPads with this screen aspect-ratio the overtricks count was truncated. http://www.bridgebas...post__p__775701 shows the screenshot. However I discovered on the new version you can slide the results table to the left to see the count. #3 Btw, I haven't yet worked out how to scroll up and down the results to see earlier results off the top of the screen. I thought that used to be possible. (Apologies, I'm struggling with my iPad eating line feeds from this post. Hope it's nevertheless clear)
  3. 1.The iOS play-2nd-card-from-left bug solved :). .2.Showing overtricks/under tricks count in landscape mode on iOS still not solved. All the best,Alan
  4. Some extensions create their own status bar which is not taken into account when flash calculates the screen size. Try disabling all extensions to see if this helps. If it does then it's a simple matter of "elimination play" to find the culprit :)
  5. Absolutely agree. iOS already supports this for the BBO app but brings up the keyboard obscuring most of the play I was hoping that Apple offers an API to enable dictation without the keyboard display. But I wasn't suggesting you develop BBOs own dictation service Alan.
  6. Hi BabsG, You're not alone in wanting this. Far from it. I created a similar request (but perhaps your's is better) about transferring hosts which would not just help teaching but also teams to postmortem a match. This is something that other bridge platforms don't offer. It got plenty of support and seems to be a recurring request. http://www.bridgebas...scussing-table/ Alan
  7. Ok ... so that's two tablet/mobile suggestions I'd love to see: 1. Dictate chat (without keyboard obscuring screen) 2. Voice support (speak and listen) on teaching tables. Alan
  8. I agree that would be a better solution. Or even if when you send a hand to someone, that they could add it to their Hands folder, or ideally straight to the table. That would be a vast improvement to the Web UI. I just thought transferring ownership might be the simplest workaround if the other ideas are too complicated to develop.
  9. Often in teaching/mentoring/postmortem sessions at a teaching table it would be really useful if other players could upload a hand to the table that they want to discuss. Unfortunately this is not possible. An uncomplicated solution would be if the host could transfer hosting to another player/kibber present. Then that player could upload the hand and pass hosting back to the initial host.
  10. I know, that's what I posted earlier in the thread. But in practice, in the heat of the moment, you often don't notice that the wrong card was played until too late. It only happens in about 1/20 hands and I rarely play on the ipad, but that is what makes the sporadic nature of this bug all the more annoying. PS: Until this mobile release I never played on the ipad (just practiced), so all praise to version 3.8
  11. The bug is still there. The interesting thing is that my partner confirmed it for the same board we played, neither of us could see how the other tables had played the board (just the results summary), and both of us could see the detail of the other tables when we viewed it simultaneously in a separate tab under my hands (not logged in). All the best, Alan
  12. Just wondering if a fix will be coming soon in the iOS version. It's embarrassing when this happens in a game and noone believes my excuse. Alan
  13. Thanks... that solved it. One extension had added itself as a toolbar and I guess it had "lied" about it's size. Starting an inkognito window also solved the problem (temporarily).
  14. I hope it's a temporary situation, but just for the record in the latest Windows version and latest Chrome browser and latest Flash (all were checked for updates) the chat bar at the bottom of the screen is missing. It's frustrating because you can't see the typos in your chat message until after you've posted. screenshot workaround - avoid Chrome for the moment, Alan
  15. Now that would have been a useful message to display. Thanks for the tip.
  16. I thought this thread was about the Web version. And unfortunately there is no help about how to get back when you accidentally move the chat to the right hand tabs. I've just moved chat to see what my partner did... and now I'm stuck with chat on the right *cry*
  17. My partner complained that his chat has vanished to the tabs and I could help him get it back to normal again. Does the message say how to revert to normal?
  18. Maybe I should invest more in my bridge techniques and less in this forum... but there are often times when I could sure use a "crying" emoticon. :`(
  19. Talking of fat fingers. Sadly, Microsoft only paid lip service to the touch screen desktop (IMHO touch is the most useful thing to have happened to Windows in 10 years). Here's a setting that doesn't help BBO Web but makes many other Windows programs much easier to use with touch http://ow.ly/i/3wpHj/original All the best, Alan
  20. Hi 1eyedjack, 1. Have you used the native Windows 8 screen-splitter? IMHO far superior to messing around resizing windows - especially with touch. E.g. BBO in one screen half (in the Chrome browser) and skype or Internet Explorer in the other. 3. I agree. Tapping on the bid would work both on touch and non-touch devices just like tapping on a player's name brings up their profile (no hover). BTW. I wish you could remove the profile by clicking somewhere else on the screen (such as the green felt) instead of having to wait for it to disappear. OT: I just noticed that on a bidding table you can hover over a bid to see the meaning of the bid you're about to make (won't be able to provide that on a touch device) and also the wizard for starting a new table. Love both features :) BTW: Launch help+tips from your start screen to see video tutorials on how to use the new Windows features. screen-splitter is called "Applications side by side" by Microsoft. Alan
  21. I love using the BBO app to kib, but it's a last resort for me to play games on. The reason is people expect me to be my usual chatty self, but chatting brings up a huge keyboard obscuring the play (iOS). Seeing as many people (including me) use dictation when replying to short emails I was wondering if it would be possible to click on the microphone symbol to dictate into bbo chat without invoking the screen keyboard. This might also be welcome relief for those who can't type fast. I've tried using dictation on bbo - and it does work well (but you have to say "Thank you partner" not "typ") All the best, Alan PS: I wouldn't normally be so brave with such a suggestion but seeing as the bbo software has always been so far advanced of other apps I thought I'd give this suggestion a go,
  22. Good catch antrax. I can reproduce the second card from dummy bug using an older iPad and iPhone.(Easy to reproduce by Playing anonymous mode bidding 3nt every hand) It's easy to get round it by turning the tablet to landscape mode.
  23. This release is very nice :D:D:D I tried it on an iPhone (still have to check on the ipad... my preferred device). But.. a) Chat is resizable :) b) Results list show overtricks and undertricks :) c) somehow the display of the cards in my hand and ops are much more attractive... perhaps the sizing has changed. :) Very minor item... the "About BBO" section doesn't appear to show the release number. All the best, Alan
  24. And later it showed me a result hand full screen when I was expecting a live view. I love windows 8.1, BBO web, IE10,,... But they don't work well together (I use chrome)I'd XX that flash is to blame http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif
  25. A partner complained about not being able use chat in the default browser in Windows 8.1 on a new PC. I normally use Chrome, but can reproduce his problems. As you can see in the screenshot when using BBO (latest flash/windows) the bottom of the BBO window is not visible. By setting the zoom to 75% instead of 100% (options in the rh charm) you can partially get round the problem. But even in 75% I can't send a hand because the export menu creates items below the screen. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/38632509278051235/
