  1. Does anyone know if the Ourgame Vugraph generates a .lin or .pbn file so that permanent records of the finals will be readily available?
  2. This should help : http://www.wkbridge2011.nl/nl Denis
  3. That works - thank you  Denis
  4. I've tried to access the BBO Vugraph index several times over the last 12 hours without success. Is there a problem please? Denis
  5. When I try to view the current NEC Cup matches in the Vugraph archive, I get an error message in a yellow box "Error Parsing File". Any ideas why this might be happening? The matches download OK and I can view other tournaments OK. Denis
  6. When The windows client version of Gib was updated the following files were updated : mb.txt comments.txt bridge.exe (the engine) In my Gib sub-folder under C:\ Bridge Base Online these are all dated 7th May 2009. I've now (today) updated my commercial version of Gib by downloading/running bpat620.exe. The file dates in my C:\Program Files\Gib folder are now: mb.txt (7th November 2008) comments.txt (18th March 2002) bridge.exe (6th Feb 2009) These are all older (and smaller) than the files in the windows client. I'm wondering if this is as it should be and also would it be OK to copy the more recent files from the windows client Gib into the comercial Gib?
  7. Previously on the Vugraph schedule we were able to sort by either event or time. We have lost the useful feature of sorting by event :) I wonder if this could be restored. Thanks Denis
  8. This info is given in the Segment Column
  9. I had already asked for Segment 4 from both semi-finals and got no reply. Surely with the large number of specs for these matches, somebody from BBO Forums must have them on their hard disk. Denis
  10. I can't see Segment 3 of Welland v Robinson or Seg 4 from both semifinal matches in the Vugraph index at : http://web04.bridgebase.com/vug/?C=M;O=D Anyone know what's gone wrong? If any of you watched any of these matches and have the .lin file on your hard disk, could you please email them to me. They will find their way to Nikos's Vugraph project when the Championships finish. Thanks Denis
  11. Hi Sartaj You might find it easier to watch or download the edited Vugraphs at Nikos's site: http://www.sarantakos.com/bridge/vugraph.html These are usually available a few days after an event and have all the comments stripped out for easy viewing. In addition you will find vugraphs of many Bermuda Bowl finals from the past (pre BBO) which we have constructed from the World Championship books. Denis
  12. Perhaps part of the problem was that (as usual) the Spingold broadcasts appeared to be scheduled at the last minute and Roland didn't seem to be involved in organising the commentators? He normally gives us a great mix of commentators who are usually just right for a particular event.
  13. Thanks for report Jan - and for your great coverage of the event. Happily the library now seems to be back on line. Denis
  14. When I try to access the library I get : "The vugraph library is temporarily unavailable. It will be back online in a few hours 6:30 PM Eastern, May 30, 2008 " It is now 07.13 on 1st June in the UK - and I'd like to see some of the USBC Vugraphs - do we know when it will really be available again? Denis
  15. I use IE6 and all Lin files on Nikos's site (plus the DOTW files) open with the BBO Viewer - not as text files. I think this is what y66P wants. To achieve this you need to associate the extension .lin with the BBO engine NetBridgeVu.exe (generally found on C: drive) I believe the issue is with Firefox and not Nikos's site as Uday suggests. If a Lin file is required as a text file it should be opened with a text editor e.g. Wordpad. Denis
  16. My sentiments exactly - the USA1 ladies have let themselves down badly with an ill conceived puerile, self-opinionated and pathetic display. It will change nothing in the political sense but hopefully Bridge authorities will ensure we do not see it's like again. Denis
  17. Normally, afaik, you are unlikely to have the commentary in sync with the match in the BBO archive. Probably your best bet to watch matches you have missed is to visit Nikos's site where all the BBO Vugraphs, with commentary removed, are available either to open or to download to your hard drive. The site is here: http://www.sarantakos.com/bridge/vugraph.html
  18. OOps - meant to post this in Computer bridge thread - can someone move it please?
  19. Quite a day for shock results - following Italy's defeat in the BB, we now have the big favourite Jack defeated by Bridge Baron over 64 boards! see: http://www.jackbridge.com/eindex.htm
  20. Nevertheless, it doesn't look fair that six teams haven't had a show. I'd have thought that eveyone could have at least one broadcast. I know I'm disappointed that my team Ireland haven't been on - even though they could have done better - but they were silver medallists in the Euro Championships :)
  21. Try rgb here: http://groups.google.co.uk/group/rec.games...arch+this+group
  22. For USA2 Meckwell are lying 3rd and Nickell/Freeman a respectable 15th but Hamman/Lall are languishing at 69th - does this explain why USA2 are struggling to get into a qualifying spot? There seems to be some correlation with team performance as I guess Ireland's poor performance must be down mainly to Hanlon/McGann ( who are probably their top pair), having such a bad time - 61st in the Butlers.
  23. Australia are currently lying 3rd in the Bermuda Bowl round robin. However none of the three pairs were selected for the initial Ozone iniative and don't seem to have got in since then. Seems strange --- can some from Oz explain?
  24. I've only used BBOTV in Kibbitz mode so far. Nice sharp picture fills my 19 inch screen. However no information on kibbitzer numbers/names and no player profiles available. I've used IE 6 and Firefox 1.5.0.6 (very outdated I know but I rarely use Firefox) Denis
