  1. It's not bad.. but if i tried to pick the ugliest blue and the ugliest green, i'd likely choose ones u took for 2 main pannels we'll have to look at daily.
  2. So, sorry, I don't know why diagram didn't show the details .. So this is random IMP game in Main club, N is the dealer, EW are vulnerable.
  3. Yesterday I watched a friend play, and they get this amazing hand. It was bewildering to see traveller on it (http://tinyurl.com/zgd8ym7), how is it possible so many people weren't able to find the slam? Here is the hand for those that won't get shocked with traveller ;) [hv=pc=n&s=sa3hq2daq92cat543&w=st9875ha873d87c62&n=skqj2hkj95dkj6ckq&e=s64ht64dt543cj987]399|300[/hv] What would be optimal bidding sequence if pards played vanilla 2/1? (NS white aga red) Thanks in advance
  4. I don't understand what criteria makes it possible that some player, using more than one nickname, would see others (even regular pards) with just half star with one name, and 3+ stars with another (having same or very alike friends/enemy lists etc).
  5. Yet, it's bit embarrassing having only half star with a good friend that one occasionally plays with, and does reasonable well.
  6. Hi What are the "standard" 3.rd level responses to pard's 1NT opening in non-compet. auctions? If 1N-3M is short in major, 54 in minors, what is opener supposed to do next? I don't really understand how Minor Stayman works, would someone be kind to explain it? And what is 2N-3S ? Minor Stayman as well ? Thanks !
  7. For those of us that can´t see perfectly cold slam, unless vugraph commentator draws it for us in 3 languages and all colors, could it be possible to have a button, similar to GIB button, that would give Best contract or Par Score for that board? (something Bridge Composer does http://bridgecomposer.com/Par.htm ) For example: NS 2N; EW 3♠; NS 3♥; NS 4♦; NS 2♣; Par +100; EW 4♠x-1 Thanks !
  8. My friends/pards do not show nearly as compatible with me as it shows for other people i do not really know (great players, stars, Jec & Co, etc.. - people I only admire watching). Wish they'd call me to play since we are made for each other :P
  9. This hand was played in Jack Bridge. Computer alerted 3S as "CueBid with 4 hearts". 4C would have same alert, while 3N would be 5♠ and 2♥.. no idea why to be honest. Jack would take 4D as re-transfer Thanks for all answers, very useful to me.
  10. Playing 2/1 basic, IMPs, you get: ♠KT432 ♥KT5432 ♦-- ♣T2 How slam ambitious you get? And how to reach it? I choose Xfer to H, planning to bid spades later, I wonder if that's right.. [hv=pc=n&s=skt432hkt5432dct2&d=n&v=e&b=9&a=2n(20-21%20balanced)p3d(Jacoby%20Transf%20to%20H)p3s(super%20accept)p]133|200[/hv] With N holding: ♠AJ98 ♥AQ67 ♦A82 ♣AQ and no bad breaks, any 7M is cold, but how to reach them? And if it was MPs, should one venture to 7N? Thanks : )
  11. oh, boxes looked so "solid", it never occurred to me they can be expanded, how silly of me! ty so much.. it helps tons
  12. Does anyone have same problem as I do? I find new boxes that display BBO News or our mail messages way too small, horrible hard to read, without a possibility to expand. Why couldn't we have at least the option to open it in our browser, or even copy the link location? Thanks
  13. TY so much, your answer is extremely helpful & clear : )
  14. Hello When partner opens strong 2♣, we play 2♦ as any strength waiting bid, 2M being 5+c natural positive with 2/3 top honors, etc. If responder is bust, his negative would be his rebid (cheapest minor or 3N over 3♦). How is best to handle the Interference over responder's bids : 2♣ - (p) - 2♦ - (2♠ or 3♥ or any other bid) and over natural positive ? 2♣ - (p) - 2♥ - (2♠) Thanks
  15. So sorry, I forgot to mention - it was imps. Vulnerability was shown: we were red against white, so I was affraid not to miss game. And I choose 3♥, meaning it to be invitational (bit stronger that simple 3♠ would be, but still not GF). Partner understood it as GF, not necesarely with spade support. So, it went: [hv=pc=n&s=st986hqt98daq8cj3&n=skq752hadkjtc9654&d=w&v=n&b=12&a=2h2sp3hp3np4s]266|200[/hv] ♣AK , third club over-ruffed by West with Jack, and ♠A took us to -1 which was very bad score, since none else was in 4♠. Hence this my question, I wondered if I over-evalueted that hand. All your answers were so helpful, I hope I'll try use those guidelines how to think of the hand (& not only count hcp lol). Thank you all so much :)
  16. [hv=pc=n&s=st986hqt98daq8cj3&d=w&v=n&b=12&a=2h2sp]133|200[/hv] Assuming 2♥ was weak 2 opening, how I should evaluate this hand? Thanks
  17. It happened to me many times, and always after I was disconnected due to inactivity (kicked out of BBO alltogether). When I log in back, no matter what I choose - start a table, get pick-up game, get into tourney or even join table to kibits, I get to see the "Stuck" solitaire table I was in, with last score, but unable to make new bid or deal hand.. Yellow buttons on top left aren't working, with exception of <Log Off>. Even logging in back with another username won't fix it - the ghost table keeps coming back. If I try old DL version, it works fine, but never the web version, independently of browser, until the full reboot or restart the internet connection. Also funny is that I can see the chat of the table I tried to join, but the image of the table is that stuck solitaire.
  18. Hi Playing IMPs, if auction goes: (1♦) 1♠ (2♦) ? having in mind that 2S would be relatively weak hand with spade support, what's the difference between 3D and 3S answers? Could it be LTT (3S would show 4+ support?) Specifically, holding Axxx Kxx xx QJxx what would you bid, and how vulnerability may influence your bid? Thanks : )
  19. Shouldn't North open 1NT ? Everything would go different from then on, and if South chooses Minor suit Stayman or transfer to minor, would they get S overcall?
  20. I have several questions, and i appreciate your help. Playing IMPs, 2/1, with known pard that is good aggressive player A) [hv=pc=n&n=st98hkq743d532cq5&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=p1h2h(Michaels)3hp4h5dppdpp5sdppp]133|200[/hv] Should I have passed 5D doubled? B) [hv=pc=n&n=sq52hqt643d6ckt98&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1cd1d1h3dpp]133|200[/hv] I thought that my free bid of 1h was descriptive enough, as not strong to go to 2h, yet had something to offer. Was I wrong and should bid 2h? And after it went to 3D, should I compete and how? X? 3h? 3s? C) [hv=pc=n&n=sqt95hk9d7cakqj94&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=1cp1h3d3sp3n]133|200[/hv] I loved this hand, and just couldn't pass 3D. What I should have done instead of 3s? That 3N was crushed as a bug, p holding Kxx in dimes. Thanks for your answers, and Happy New Year everyone :)
  21. Hello, can you please help me with few doubts.. Playing E in MP 1. [hv=pc=n&e=skq2ha73dt64ca842&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=1c1d1s1n]133|200[/hv] What now? You know pard could bid 1s with 4 little spades and as little as 5 quacky points, or even 4HCP and some shortness. Would X from you be a support double or penalty? 2. [hv=pc=n&e=sq9642h854dqjct98&d=n&v=e&b=9&a=pp1c1d1h]133|200[/hv] Do you pass or bid spades? You know p loves to bid, and his overcall can be very light Thanks : )
