I think 5♥ is clear-cut. If there's a slam here... preempts work. What was your action at the table?

I would bid 2♥ on 1543 with a decent suit and pref to 2♠ on the other two. Bart would be nice on the 25xx ones...

As per Mike Lawrence's Overcalls, 2♥ is NF, 3♥ is natural, inv, and X followed by hearts would be GF. 3♥ as a fit-jump makes sense too.

I don't know whether or not RHO has a decent hand. If so, we could be in trouble. Depending on who my partner and opponents are, I would pass or double. I would like to bid 4NT for 3 suits.

I think standard for a double jump is preemptive, although after RHO passes, maybe a different meaning is called for. Either way, I think 2♠ is enough with 6=2=2=3 and 8 points. But I do have two aces...
