Well thats the problem. we dont know how to show 4♥ and 6♦. 3♦ would be balanced GF with ♥ FIT. For me was actually only one problem. What does 5♦ show? I was scared that my partners takes it as exclusion on ♣.

Your partner opens 1NT. How do you bid following hand: ♠AQ7 ♥J1094 ♦KT9xxx ♣Void At my table it was: 1NT - 2♣ 2♠ - 3♣ Asking 3♦(one 4 card minor ) - 3♥ asking 3♠ 4 card♣ - whats your bid now?

what time would it be?

Mexican Two Diamonds

i used to play 2D as 18-19 bal a bit. You only open real balanced hands with 2D and no 5 card major. ( So with 4441 you open natural 1C or 1D, dunno why people have problems with that ) with 5 card major and 18-19 balanced you just open 1M and then gazilli to show that hand. Advantages of 2D opening is that you always find the right fit and sometimes even good slams which you couldnt have found in the natural way. And always the 2D opener is playing the contract which is obviously very good. Only disadvantage is that if youre partner has 0-5 HCP that you have to play 2NT at least. or 2S if partner got them. And the system is pretty complex so you have to study it and use it often to do it by heart. ( hopefully it was the right expression: learning by heart i mean ) But you dont play this convention because of the 2D opening much more because of the follow ups after 1m-1M-2NT. You can describe your hands way better but its up to you how you play it. -
opponents didnt bid...
-
yes sry thx for doing it :)
-
You play 3NT and lead is 3 of clubs: a98x xx adxx 982 kx ad9xx kbxx ax
-
cause you cant show 5 clubs and 4 spades anymore. and after 2clubs gf your partner will can still bid 2 spades to show 4 spades.
-
pass for me. double wont work.
-
hmm i dont really see the problem? you only want to have the first bid?
-
what is 1♦ showing? but this is one of the rare moments when 2nt for me is natural. and showing invitational hand.
-
I usually play: 1♦-(1♥)-?? X= 4+♠ 1♠ = takeout with 0-3 ♠ 1NT = ♣ 2♣ = good ♦ raise 2♦ = bad raise i guess thats pretty standard and i wouldnt recommend to keep the relays.

I know my partner and his balancing is crazy xD. I would only bid 2♠. If he has any extras he will keep going.

What means BW death hand? And yes we play "mexican 2♦". We have a very good system for this, so i dont worry about the 2♦ opening. But what i really wonder about is: After 1♣- 1(♦ or ♥ ) - 2NT 3♣ is relay. What does lvl 3 bids show if 2nt shows 16+ 5+♣?
-
So here is the thing: My partner and I are playing 2/1 with transfers on 1♣. 1♦ opening shows 5+ unbalanced or 4441. 1♣-1♦-1♥ = showing 3 card fit and forcing. I know not many people play it that way but our partnership wont change it in the next 2 months because of upcoming tournaments. Afterwards we might try out something different. So with this version sometimes rebidding with long ♣ and 3card or 4card fit after Transfer is difficult. Lets not say difficult but it just takes more time to show your hand and youre wasting bidding space. So i want to add that 2♦ opening is 18-19 balanced. So that after 1♣-1♦-2NT shows 16+ with 5+ clubs and (any?) distribution. Does anyone has experience with the answers after that sequenze? Or is it good at all? I hope i didnt confuse you all with my text xD. So here my question in one or two Phrases: 1) How should the answers after 1♣-1♦-2NT look like? 2) After 1♣-1♠ ( showing 6-9 balanced ) is 2NT still 16+? 3) After 1♣-1NT ( showing 10-11 bal ) is 2NT still 16+? 4) Should 1♣-1♦-2NT include 3 card fit in the major? Thx in advance! Raff

Well in Austria you can nearly play anything ♥. So im happy that there is so much information about non natural stuff in this forum. im rarely suprised when someone comes up with a new convention :)

I’m Convinced – It’s Time to Dump Jacoby 2NT
Raff90 replied to 32519's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Well with that hand i prefer to bid 2♣ instead of 2NT. Just because with our jacoby NT we wouldnt find the second suit fit. And anyways we only play jacoby nt when no opps interfere or over double and 1♠ by opponent. Here is our system: 1M-2NT 3♣ = any 5/5 or 633(1) minimum 3♦ = maximum single or any strong balanced hand 3♥ = any void 3♠ = single minimum 3NT = 6 card Major any strentgh 4lvl = cuebid minimum balanced Always next step relay asking and answer in steps -
Thats the good thing about me. That 1am isnt too late ;)

weird that nobody wants to :o. its an opportunity !!! hope that experiment wont be abandonded
-
Why not playing takeout doubles in last seat? :-/. I dont even like penalty doubles behind the 1NT opening
-
For me its minors.

I would love to practise against those players. So if there is a spot for a junior player im in ;).

So what is a BFF regular? Does it depend on how many posts someone did? And if someone gets chosen wouldnt it be better if that person could choose his partner? I mean i have no clue of how many regular partnerships are posting here regularly.
