Hi perfect! Raff90 and Koncik will be your partners ;). Lets make it happen! -
Topic Title says it all. Had once the pleasure to play with my partner Koncik against him and we would want to try again to get our revenge :D. And such a match sure would be a good training for the upcoming EU junior Champs. Thx in advance Raff
-
Just converted it to CET time. So it starts at 8pm Cet right? Then we cant sry tournament is starting at 6pm.
-
Which time does it start? Koncik and me already played once with broze and ibraves. Im at a tournament in Budapest but if its not at the same time im available with my partner
-
My partner and i came up with a new conenvtion when we we're drinking so its not perfect yet: 2♣ = weak with ♥, weak 2 suiter with ♥ or semi forcing + with ♥ 2♦ = weak with ♠, weak 2 suiter with ♠ or semi forcing + with ♠ 2♥ = bad preempt in ♣, weak with minors or GF with clubs 2 ♠ = bad preempt in ♦, gf with ♦ or some strong NT We only play this for fun and only tried it at one serious tournament. But it got us some good scores :). When we open 2♣ opps never ask what it means cause they think its semi forcing + opening. And last time one opponent overcalled 2H with AQ109x because he didnt ask. After i doubled and my partner converted it to a penalty double he asked what it is. You should have seen his face :D

I couldnt find who is playing tonight? Would like to play vs him again :)
-
The difference between 2♦ and 2NT is that one is weaker then another. Thats at least what i play with my partner
-
I dont believe that X is worth 10 points. I think 3♦ is the right bid here. First my partner knows that im not strong and only showing shape so kinda balancing in last seat. If i have more then minimum opening i X most of the time. And the problem with dbl is even when partner got 5♠ there are lots of hands when opponent make it or dont go down enough. But i guess it all depends on how well you know your partner and he knows you. My partner would imagine that i got a hand like this when i bid 3♦
-
i bid 2 spade as well. you will never find yout fit again if you dont bid it now. and if partner has a spade fit its way easier to figure out in which level you want to be. 5-7 spades. everything is possible.
-
Double. After 1♦ - 1♥ - 3♦ you wont find your spade fit ever again. And my coach always said: If you have both majors then show both. And if its reversed i tend to bid 1♠ cause you have much better rebid options
-
im 22 years old myself so maybe im right ^^. Number 1: I consider its slamish asking for cuebids. Number 2: Would be minors for me. Number 3: SoS

First:@Jillybean: Just because he is the creator of that TM means that im not allowed to judge his bidding? It could have been Versace-Lauria and still would want to discuss it. And kibitzers are there for discussion. It's not like i said that he is a bad player or anything. I just think it wasn't right there. And if im wrong and kibitzers are only there for a teaparty and having nice conversations about politics etc then call the TM NAME after it. @Codo: This has nothing to do with style. They played natural system. You're not judging it right. If the hand would have been different and they would have played the 7♣ down one and 7♠ which is cold you sure would have critizied the bidding. @Philking: Ofc you saved lots of room in the bidding. But if partner doesnt have GF or just a barely GF often might not find the right contract to play, because even if their agreement is to show 5/5 that way how do they show 5/6 then? The cuebids i can understand that he could judge it that the ♥ cue is better. But that auction he kinda doesnt know lots about partner hand and i think shouldnt skip a cuebid. I hope you still dont regret your post...

This just happened at Cayne vs BBO Forums: You've got: ♠Qxxxx ♥Kx ♦T ♣AKxxx Partner: ♠A ♥AQJTx ♦Axx ♣QJTx Its about the bidding: after i saw the bidding i wrote to the kibitzers how wrong i think it is to bid that way. And then 2 "star" players wrote me that they think its ok and i will know in some years. Pls explain me now why i am wrong, so here is the Bidding: 1♣-1♥ 1♠-2♦ 2♠-4♣ 4♥-4NT 5♥-7♣ Ok nice they reached the most easy grand ever but still. How can anyone think that the 1♣ opening is any good? Why shouldnt you open your normal 1♠? And the next thing which i thought was really wrong is that after 4♣ the 4♥ bid. Why should you ever skip your ♦ cuebid here? If your partner had different cards you might not reach 7♣ that easy. So pls enlighten me BBO FORUM
-
im available as well. any system is fine for me :). just write me on bbo
-
After 2♠ opening its very hard and i think im fine with playing 4♥. In 6♥ you give up Ace of♣ and a ruff anyway ^^
-
why do you like your chances in 2♠? i would never bid 2 spades with your hand even when its non forcing. partner can have xx or x and then 2♥ is always the better contract. dunno why you try to make the life for opponents easy cause now they can always dbl you only time i would bid 2 spades with that hand is when opponents already penalty doubled us in 2 hearts
-
Yeah it was weird that you lead a trump there. I mean im no one to judge here. We played terribly. In one board i should just have opened 1NT with all the controls. But no i did not and we had a misunderstanding with our trialbids. And our defense wasnt the best that day. Still i think we could easily beat them any other day. The team was good and if we have a change again we will take the victory off the battlefield
-
We play that 1♥ - 2♠ is invitational. So in that sequence its Nonforcing for us-
-
well no success. sry all. had 2 hands which seemed to be very difficult.
-
do we have to tell anyone our team michael?
-
raff90 and koncik :)
-
i would like to play with my partner if possible. we play for over 2 years and both on the junior team. would ne nice if we get the chance to play against them!
-
Hey all, so i just played a tournament with my partner. and we both got kicked for no reason. Opponent was flaming and then he called td to kick us. And where do i find the chatlogs now? Cause i want to report it. And the td as well because he did it without even asking whats going on.

Scrambling 2NT versus Lebensohl
Raff90 replied to 32519's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
why not play both? GUCCI -
Well after the 3♠ response you know that partner has 4-(2/3)-(2/3)-4 has. Question is 5♦ exclusion? the reason i bid 4♦ was that my partner easier understands that ive got ♦. he bid 4nt and then i rebid 5♦. we ended up in 6D which we shouldnt have
