Two teams are to compete in the trials for the National Team. A director has been appointed. One pair has not given in their CC at the time specified by the conditions of contest. Is the TD allowed to call off the match the morning after the deadline? If the tournament committee decides to extend the deadline by 24 hours, is the TD then allowed to refuse to direct? Let us say that it is uncertain whether the offending pair had a reasonable excuse or not.

This question might be a little naive, but does anyone here know if the respective bridge federations pay for all the expenses of the players when they play overseas for their country, or are there federations that expect their players to contribute. I am not on any national team :rolleyes: but I was asked to find out.Any information would be greatly appreciated. Rona
