Are you coming in now at the 4 level unfavourable?
Guest Jlall
nope. hand screaming defend, and third seat is suspect.
whereagles
Dunno what I'd do. I guess it would depend on how lucky I would feel at table as to where pard has his side honors. If in clubs, 4S is great. If in the reds, 4S is as bad as it gets... lol. Right now I feel like pass. After a glass or two I might bid on... lol. Fluffy
No thanks, opponents seem to be playing different versions of defence against multi.
Al_U_Card
Because of the 3rd seat opener, what would DBL show here? If he is weak, can he pull to 4S, or will he have to assume that it's straight penalty?
Echognome
The way I normally play defense to this (not that I had agreed with this partner) is that a double shows values and the other major. (sounds a lot like a takeout double) But the explicit meaning here is please correct to the other major if you've got it, else pass. Not sure if that's optimal, but it's what I normally play. I did wonder about the law abiders though. 11 trumps for NS, 9 trumps for EW = 20 Total Trumps. 8 tricks for NS, 10 tricks for EW = 18 tricks. Guest Jlall
Even people who obey the law presumably know a negative adjustment when they see one. Your hand was worth at least 1 or 2 given: The defensive values mainly the red suit jacks andflat shape.
