TRS aka The Random System

A friend of mine has notes on it (but I don't see him much). He got them at a dealer in an European championship. I do remember bits of the opening structure.

pass = any 11-15

1C = strong 16+

1D = fertilizer 0-10(?), hand not suitable for other bid

1M = 0-2 or 5+ in that major, 7-11 hcp.

1/2NT = 15-17/20-21, may have 5 major.

2C+ = can't remember.

It used to be possible to get full system notes from International Popular Bridge Monthly (IPBM, no longer with us). You might try contacting Brian Senior, its last editor - you can find his email address by looking at his profile on OKBridge where he is brianace. I don't know his handle on BBO.

The system was played by Forrester with John Armstrong in the Bermuda Bowl in 1987. Unfortunately, there are relatively few insights in the World Championship Book, which was not covered by Kokish.

I have the full system notes, but they are hard copy rather than electronic. This system is a little dated now Frederick. I'll type up the full opening structure for you when I have time and answer any questions you might have.

If you want a working medium pass system try Carrotti instead:

Pass: good 12 - 16 unbalanced, 15 - 17 balanced

1: 9 - 11 balanced or 17+

1: 0 - 7(8)

1NT: 12 - 14

1...2: 8 - 12

Notes available in Swedish online.
